Title: Navy F/A-18 from Oceana crashes into apartment building

An F/A 18D Navy jet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 has crashed into an apartment building in Virginia Beach on Birdneck Road. Two pilots have been transported to the hospital. There has been no word on injuries according to Tim Riley of the Virginia Beach Police Department. He stated that the two pilots ejected from the jet.

It has been confirmed that the jet is a Delta two-seat model. There has been a significant amount of damage done to an apartment building.

Initial reports indicate that at approximately 12:05 p.m., the jet crashed just after takeoff at a location just off of the base.

He can keep right on decimating our military forces. They'll fail due to attrition with his plan.

Please do not blame obama for this it only makes those who do look ignorant.  Jet aircraft are complicated machines that occasionally fail.  These pilots performed heroically for minimizing the damage.

If you want to blame someone blame the citu of VA Beach for allo

Been watching this develop. So far, no reports of fatalities or life threatening injury. Praying it stays that way.

Breathtaking    When I worked at Oceania at one point we were within a football field of a run way and at lunch watched these planes  do practice landings.    Got to practice somewhere to go on to landing on the  Carriers in a pitching sea.  

Great fun watching the pilots New Bees land and zoom back up to try it again.  These guys even the new ones had it down pat, Hell of a show for us on lunch break.  

What ever happend in Norfork had to be some kind of mechanical problem, My heat goes out to the two men in the plane that had the sense to off load fuel and bail out.
