I somewhat doubt there's any pictures of ptarmigans with Hellfire missiles strapped to their wings, or with GPS-guided munitions in their claws . . .

It's a kevlar groin protector. Some units are required to wear them as part of their body armor. I haven't had to yet, thank God.
