Let me tell you about a little girl my wife is treating.
I've mentioned before that my wife is a psychologist. She mainly specializes in children, but does see some adults. One of the cases she currently is working on is a little girl (4 years old) who was repeatedly sexually abused by her father. So many things wrong with this poor little girl. Inappropriate boundaries and touching, etc. She'll point to a man's groin and say "kiss it". She'll likely need years and years of counseling due to the severity of the case. She also has a little brother (3 years old) who they've surmised witnessed some of the abuse and will model the behavior. He'll pull down girls pants and try to molest them, etc.
My wife has made mention that this case mirrors some of the adult women she has seen who have engaged in stripping, escort, etc. So next time you think those girls are expressing their freedom, being independent, or whatever other euphemism you want to use just remember where she likely came from.
I'm just glad my wife is there to help girls and boys like this.
Can we start the recon process, so we can stop a liberal and his wife from using private health information illegally obtained and divulged for political purposes? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002521227)
When confronted, the ass**** poo-poos HIPAA:

3. HIPAA suggests you shouldn't even know this.

Even without identification, patients aren't supposed to be discussed publicly or even with family. Just saying, I take the medical privacy of patients very seriously.
Secondly behaviors are likely after such occurrences, however you are trying for an inverse relationship that simply isn't true to the 100% you're attempting to make it.

7. Yeah, I know. Technically, she shouldn't even discuss this with me.

But she needs a release and I figure we are far enough removed at this point to be sufficiently anonymous.
Where do you think the classic cliche of "daddy issues" come from?
Not the point, asshole liberal.
And we're supposed to truth people like this with healthcare. **** you and your wife, DUmmy, and you better hope I can't identify you.
Screenshot taken - too late to wash it away.

So, she'll grow up to be a typical liberal female and post at DU.

Oh, SNAP. ^5

It wasn't even necessary to post. Howard Stern covers this ground every time he interviews a stripper or porn star.

Assuming this isn't a bouncy, HIPAA violatons are a big Federal no-no. DUmbass, you're in some trouble.

Another visit to skins island of misfits by the police is coming.

Knowing these idiots, it's probably all a lie. Most likely a story line in a show they seen. That is why he's not worried about any HIPAA laws.

That's an assumption you should never, ever make.
DUmmies lie more often than Rush is right.

The wife would get in major trouble. No medical personnel can share patient information with their spouse or anyone else, unless the other person is involved in the care of the same patient. Details like the girl's age, the brother, and his age are way over what is allowed with anonymous reporting. If there is any truth to this, there should be severe consequences.
-
HIPAA does not protect the privacy of imaginary characters in bouncy tales.
-
This told me all I need to know.
I've mentioned before that my wife is a psychologist.
Sorry, I've never seen a more troubled bunch of people in my life.
They seriously should seek some help.
Perhaps there a few good ones out there, however, I've yet to see one.
-
I'm not so sure that claiming that the person is fictitious is a good enough plea for the psychologist.
The psychologist better not have a 4 YO sexual abuse patient that she's treating.

Not as long as Eric Holder is AG.

I worked as a stripper for a while. I guess I need to figure out where to get some daddy issues from. Anyone know where I can pick some up?

That could be La Lioness but the floor is too clean.

Not sure if the law has changed any but I was under the impression that the HIPAA only applied to the Doctors , RN and LPN's themselves . Only those that held a State license.
Not that long ago we had a local busybody working as a doctors receptionest and aid. She knew everyones problems and treatment in town and had a big mouth. Occasionally complaints would come in to the Doctor about how private information was now subject to rumor in our small town. Hell of a mess, until the receptionest talked to the wrong person in confidence about a mutual friend. Receptionest was fired, and went to work in the next town, she was not arrested or charged with anything. --------She did not have any kind of medical license to loose, she was just the receptionest and filing clerk who , when curious about someone she knew could pull their records and see what was ailing them.
Seems to me a Doctor that talks to a spouse about their cases is also covered under the Court rule that a spouse cannot be forced to testify against that spouse. How can the poster get in trouble with posting about a case that disturbes them both as no names, no town, no indirect or direct identification of the patients are used ???
This HIPPA is a crank your balls law, when you sign a privacy statement it also says the Medical staff can release your records to the insurance company, law enforcement and to the billing department to make sure you pay. Get brought into the ER with a bullet or stab wound, you bet your ass the police will be called. Take a child into a Doctor with suspicious broken bones, or a school nurse sees suspicious bruises on a child, patient privacy no longer exists.

HIPAA applies to all employees or contractors of a health care organization who have any access to the slightest bit of patient information.

What Ralph said. Further, employees with no need to know have no right to look. You can be fired for just looking at records of a patient that is not in your direct care.
-
If his wife needs the kind of relief that causes her to violate the law perhaps she's in the wrong business.

Obviously I've had to sign that HIPAA form a few times too, Mrs. S. :-)

Because of the HIPAA law, it's a pain in the ass to get your spouse's records. How can it be OK for DUmmie SA and his wife to discuss a "patient"?

As a student I can be expelled from school for talking about a patient. I wish I could figure out who this guy is, because if there is even a hint of truth in this story, his wife has completely disregarded HIPAA, and in one of the worst ways imaginable. Talking about a vulnerable child who has been abused about what was said during a psychologist appointment? Disgusting.
I hope that the canard about DUmmies lying is true in this case.

I know that, as the building marshal of my building, I can't even tell a sick person's supervisor their condition, if said sick person is transported to a hospital.
