It's been driving me crazy, trying to think of who he reminds me of when he refers to himself in the third person. I could have sworn there was some super-retarded Bugs Bunny character who did that, I kept seeing a big dopey bear in my mind, for some reason. I tried to Nadin it, but all I could find was Elmo. "Elmo has a question." I dunno.

You're talkin' Barney the bear, ain't ya?
I loved them cartoons! You can still see 'em on the kids cartoon network every once in a while. I think they're MGM stuff.
Turner Classics has them on occasionally, too.

I hope the Bellevue Police Department is watching in case they might need to arrest BanTheGOP for a DUI or something. He's just that stupid to do that. Also that bar isn;t all that big and for the ten or so supporters there your money is wasted on some smeghead running without so much as an answer to the problems the city faces.

Yeah, I was surprised at how small that bar is, when I saw it.
Nothing against the bar itself; there's plenty of small bars that are first-rate tip-top establishments.
But if the big guy's inside, because of state fire marshall rules regarding occupancy limits, then there's three normal-sized folks who can't get inside to donate.

He must have been overwhelmed by the vast outpouring of support at his big campaign gala last night, and took today off to recover.
Or, he got his ass arrested for DUI after the Big Bear's Bar Blowout, and no one has posted bail.

What sort of uniform is that, that the big guy's wearing?
At first I thought it might be a security guard uniform, but upon closer examination, no.
A pesticide applier? The guy who sprays homes to prevent termites and somesuch?

The uniform of a ****ing poser. Wearing mosquito wings, a CIB, a brown tie? The hell?, a 25th ID combat patch, and some ribbons I can't make out. One looks like a GCM. Someone should curbstomp this bucket of shit. :censored:
-
I think he looks like an overweight Castro with his headware on.
Would that be a faux uniform from some stupid television show?
Remember, the big guy likes obscure television celebrities.
But he's a, uh, little old to be dressing up like it's Halloween.
I must say however that's a nice honker the big guy has.
-
Someone needs to put this on his official website. I've saved them if if gets all concerned and deletes them.
-
But he's a, uh, little old to be dressing up like it's Halloween.
It's worse than that. He's wearing a CIB (Combat Infantry Badge). No one is awarded that unless they're in a combat arms unit and deployed to a combat zone. I know a few infantry units that would love to have a word with that fat ****. A CIB is not taken lightly. For an infantry soldier, it means actually placing your life on the line in combat. The only time that fat **** has ever placed his life on the line is when he went to a buffet at Golden Corral with people even fatter than that ****er is. ..and even while this is a Marine, it's still combat infantry and many troops that receive the CIB end up like this:

Could be the Orkin man.
Seems to me, when I was a kid, we had a milkman who wore a hat like that.
But the more I think about it, I believe he's pretending to be a Maytag repairman.

Serious?
I mean, my fellow Nebraskan's not the brightest bulb in the room, but I wouldn't think of him as being the sort to masquerade as an authentic military guy. It's in him to be dishonest, but not to be that dishonest.
I thought maybe it was a faux uniform from some television series.
But real or not real, I still think the big guy's too old to be dressing up in costumes.
Like about 48 years too old.

I was noticing the same thing. I have an EIB but not CIB myself, as my service was in the late 70's-mid 80's with no war. I don't know if there is a law against wearing army decorations the way he's wearing it.
If Steve earned a CIB, I wouldn't have any problems with him wearing it, albeit as tasteless as it may be for an active candidate for office. But if he didn't earn one, then this is something that should, at the very least, warrant a letter to all three of his opponents in the race, as well as a letter to the Omaha newspaper.
EDIT: It looks as if this was a costume party he was at, judging by some of the other pictures.
-
What'd I say?
This..."Behemoth
, and how you set up. That's why. Made me laugh.
On another note...
Socialist Steve Dawes, Bellevue, Nebraska, I think you're a lying piece of shit.
I don't think you have the right to wear any of those decorations.
I'm calling you out personally to prove you have the right.
I know you read CC, so as of right now, I'm declaring you in public to be a liar.
Prove otherwise, and I will retract my statement.
Prove otherwise, you stinking, lying, POS.
-
If Steve earned a CIB, I wouldn't have any problems with him wearing it, albeit as tasteless as it may be for an active candidate for office.
The big guy's never alleged military service; if he had served, he would've been boasting about it during his campaign.
Born in 1957, he would've been 18 in 1975, and it appears that even way back then he was a big guy.
So I'm not confident he ever was in the military.

He never served in combat period. I doubt he ever served at all. A few of those ribbons look like JROTC ribbons. Hell, look at the ****ing tie. Class A/B ties are black. Someone needs to get this on his "official" website, in the most creative way. "Steve Dawes, letting it loose at a combat vet". That'll start some questions.

...and, to my knowledge, no combat missions for the US Army until 1990. If there were, they were SpecOp missions and no way in HELL would a ****ing mosquito wing be a participant. Grenada was a USMC operation, from what I remember.

You're hollering into the wind, sir.<<has much admiration and respect for the real feats of Skul, and no admiration and respect for a television celebrity playing the role of Skul, and even much less for a wannabe wanting to play the role.
I will holler till the cows come home.
I will not tolerate a POS such as that.
DAWES!!! ANSWER ME, you stinking POS.
I WILL NOT tolerate it.
Remember, Dawes, I'm going to use you're lovely liberal tactic.
You're failure to respond, is an admission of guilt.
Forgot to add...

Cowards have no answer.
Cowards have no recourse.
To learn the real truth behind socialist Steve Dawes, Bellevue, Nebraska, ward 1, one only needs to visit... http://www.electstevedawes.com/
Steveyboy, if you really want to run with heros, you need to run with the guys a couple comments up from this one.
Lookat it lad. That's what made this country great.
It's not you're whining about free stuff.
It's not about your union.
It's all about that young man and the old.
Do you even have a clue?
-
I gotta see that movie! Liberals HATE it! Can't talk about Muzzies with them. :lmao:
I'm sure there will be hundreds of threads about how wrong it is and how much they now hate Sasha Baron Cohen.

Someone needs to put this on his official website. I've saved them if if gets all concerned and deletes them.
Looks like a "Combat!" Expo gathering.
IIRC, one of OS's other website, or maybe something he posted, he's a collector of obscure stuff from the 1960's TV series "Combat!"

I think he's wearing the Vietnam Service Medal with device, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal with device on the bottom row. The top row is pinned on separately; I agree with Rebel that they may be ROTC awards.
Oh, Steve. Steve, Steve, Steve. You look like an Illinois Nazi, you ****ing soup sandwich.
You have truly stepped in it now. Have you ever heard of the Stolen Valor Act?

...and, to my knowledge, no combat missions for the US Army until 1990. If there were, they were SpecOp missions and no way in HELL would a ****ing mosquito wing be a participant. Grenada was a USMC operation, from what I remember.
That top metal award is a CIB. From 1983 to Desert Shield/Storm, there was Grenada and Panama. Those where mostly limited to Special Ops, 82nd, and a few other units as far as the Army was concerned.

Got a paratrooper friend that went into Panama with the Army...I think (remember I said I think?) he said they jumped in Panama at night.
-
Anyone notice the POW-MIA patch on his sleeve? Well didn't his hero John I'm a big f***ing hero Kerry order all the records and infomation on POW's and MIA's destroyed? I think I remember that was done so his brothers(?) resort deal in Viet Nam would go through?
-
My level of disgust for the Socialist has dropped to a lower level.
Batwing mother****er.

Well then he and I have chewed the same dirt. And you are correct in that we did a airborne assault on various locations into that place.
-
Also if you look I think he has a different rank on his collar then what is on his sleeve. It may be just the picture, but that's the way it looks.

Those are the brass "US" that are pinned on the collar of class "A". I think that they're both "US", which is wrong.
-
I guess I fell asleep and missed this.
Where did these stolen valor pics come from?
A Combat Infantry Badge?! Really?
-
Guys, I think there may not be as much to this as is being bandied about. If OS was at one of the obscure TV conventions he likes to attend, he is most likely playing dress up. If he starts claiming some kind of military service while wearing that abomination of a "uniform" (ie costume), then he needs a visit from the good and decent veterans of Bellevue.
I will never attempt to defend the indefensible, but this is one where he was just being a little kid at a costume party.

That's my take on it as well. Trust me, I never want to be in a position where I have to defend that POS, but in this case I think you have it right.

And he should be painted as just that--
a little kid at a costume party.

That had been my point from the start, about two pages ago.
I didn't figure the big guy was craven enough to actually try to pose as a military personage--he's pretty stupid and dishonest, but not in that way--but it bothered me considerably that a 57-soon-to-be-58-year-old still likes to dress up in Halloween costumes. It's not the level of maturity and judgement that voters demand.

True, Coach, but basketball-playing high school girls might like him more that way.
-
Steve better drop something soon because people are starting to get distracted by other things.
Oh, and Steve, what you drop had better not be :pokingpoop:

Oh, I know. It just seemed that things were heading from a "look at the dork" perspective to Stolen Valor accusations.
Just throwing in my thoughts and observations as it were.

That is exactly what it is. He's just palying dress up or wearing a costume to a convention. Pretty much harmless unless he says he served which I have never ever heard him claim at anytime that I have known him. There is nothing that can be done about it and I think it needs to be dropped now.

Frank. You would be surprised at just how many people go to conventions and wear costumes. Granted the older the person the less likely you see it but it happenes.

The big, hairy, sweaty guy is still MIA, forty-eight hours after the Big Bear's Bar Blowout.
If you're arrested for DUI in Nebraska, how long are you in the slammer if no one bails you out?
It could be that, or maybe Socialist Steve is preparing to roll out his big Socialism Is Great strategy on Monday.
He gave up honesty for Lent, but maybe next week he'll turn over a new leaf, baring his political soul to the Ward 1 voters.
Nah, democrats claim they don't have souls.

Yeah, one should say US, the other your branch insignia.

Wasp,
Steve Dawes is playing dress-up, which comes in #2 on the creepy list behind his fetish for high school basketball players. But the law, 18 USC 704(a) (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/704), does not make a distinction for playing dress-up. It's illegal.

Steve Dawes made a promise. Steve Dawes failed to deliver. Is this the kind of commitment to his word that the citizens of Bellevue can expect, if Steve Dawes is elected to City Council?
Steve, Steve, Steve. Can't decide whether you're more dishonest or lazy. Neither are desirable traits for a public servant.
