First of all, the headline is a damned lie made up by the OP himself. There were no 'homeless" evicted, only OWS squatters claiming they were trying to turn the church property into a "homeless shelter".

Catholic Church Evicts Homeless
http://www.fogcityjournal.com/wordpress/3559/catholic-church-authorizes-police-eviction-of-occupysf/
With a protest sign that read "Forgive us our trespasses" draped from a vacant building owned by the Catholic Church at 888 Turk Street, police, acting on a legally required authorization to evict, arrested as many as 80 OccupySF demonstrators Monday afternoon. The demonstrators occupied the former mental health clinic Sunday afternoon in an attempt to setup a community center and homeless shelter.

I'm not Catholic, but I recognize that the Catholic Church is one of the biggest, if not the biggest charity in the world. Who the hell are these squatters to decide to seize someone else's property and further dictate what charitable manner that property is to be used for? The pseudo-religious snark begins right away:

1. In fairness, I'm pretty sure that's what Jesus would have done.
Jesus would have taken the homeless into His own home, missy, not stole space from others in the name of "giving".

35. and there it is...
And there what is? It's their building. They can do what they want with it. Besides, the money they get from leasing would likely find it's way into other charitable endeavors. It's not your or OWS' business.

8. What do you call keeping a building vacant when the homeless are enduring sickness and cold
on the Tenderloin streets?

Squatting in an empty building shouldn't be a felony.
So how many MFing DUers have taken in homeless families to feed and shelter? If the OWS you worship is so damn good, why aren't they taking people into their homes, or putting up their own money to lease the building for a homeless shelter, or starting a fund drive to do the same? Oh right, that would require more effort and sacrifice than just walking into an empty building ans sitting down. I am so freaking tired of these high and mighty hypocrites sitting around on their dead asses pointing their fingers at everyone else and telling them how they should take care of others when they don't do shit themselves. Then they have the gall to snark and snicker and bring the Lord's name into it as if God even warrants a passing thought in their brain at any other time. They make me sick.
To be fair, there are a few posters who try to shine the light of common sense on that thread, but it is in vain.

Even the #OWS goons admitted the building was empty. They targeted it because they wanted to play "gotcha" with the diocese.

73. Where do you see in the article that there were homeless staying in the building?
My reading is that the only people evicted were the OWS occupants who had plans to set up a program for the homeless. This was also the intention of the owners of the building.
The title is misleading, imo, and I don't think my reaction to it shows a lack of compassion, just attention to the facts of the story.

76. Some of OWS members are part of the homeless.
Anyone who has followed OWS knows this to be the case. I have been to Atlanta OWS headquarters/shelter and saw first hand how they were helping the homeless (many of them vets) before the city raided (without warning) and shut it down.
Knowing first hand that some of OWS are indeed homeless, I would rather believe this statement from the article to be true.
Weird.
Every time there's a rape or assault or killing at an OWieS camp the second thing they yell ("agent provocateur!" being the first) is, "He was homeless! He wasn't part of the movement!"
Homeless people: who knew they were so useful?

cbayer is probably upset he/she can't just lock the thread and tell the OP to STFU and GTFO.

5. Homeless? Try trespassers.
Breaking and entering? If I not mistaken, that is a felony. This is a good example of why I don't support OWS.
btw had several posts like this. I think his pizza is on the way.

Churches are a place to talk to God and pray, not to desecrate with your fiflthy habits Dummies!!!

They make great scapegoats.

The length that these fools go in defending an ends justifies the means philosophy is scary.
No freedom is great enough to stand in the way of them getting what they want.
