Obama: Ronald Reagan Couldn't Have Won GOP Primary Today
Last edited Tue Apr 3, 2012, 07:14 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama says if President Ronald Reagan was running for president now, he "could not get through a Republican primary today."
Obama said during a question-and-answer session with newspaper editors on Tuesday that Reagan was forced to raise taxes and spending cuts to deal with high deficits during his presidency in the 1980s.
The president says if Reagan were running today, he couldn't emerge from the current Republican primary contest led by Mitt Romney.
Obama is criticizing Republican presidential candidates who were not willing to raise taxes in order to deal with high federal budget deficits.

With a fifteen yard penalty with loss of down and ejection from the game.

I don't know if Barack 0bama is really this dumb or if he just knows he has a cult who wont question any of the nonsense he spews.

So are DUmmies going to start speaking of Reagan in glowing terms now? :whatever:

Only when it suits their narrow-minded partisan agenda.

He's in campaign mode, he thinks if he mentions Reagan that Independents will run to him.
BTW, If JFK ran today with a lot of the views he had back in 1960 when he won? He'd lose the Democratic Primary.

I love this. They couldn't make people hate Reagan, so they spread the myth of the moderate Reagan in order to slam current Republicans. The fact is that there IS one iconic president who would never have made it through the primaries if he were running today. That president is JFK, not the Gipper. The Democrat Party today is so batshit crazy that he would never have a prayer.

Bullshit, if Reagan were running against the group we have now, the primary would have been over long ago.
Obama Tells MSM Lapdogs To Report His Positions As “Squarely Centrist,†Republicans As Extreme…
“As all of you are doing your reporting, I think that its important to remember that the positions that I am taking on the budget and a host of other issues if we had had this discussion 20 years ago or even 15 years ago, they would have been considered as squarely centrist positions. What’s changed is the center of the Republican party.â€

Satan knows the scripture in and out. Obama doesn't know dick about Reagan or conservatism.

If the comments on the DUmp thread from a few days ago are anything to go by - even Pres. Carter wouldn't be able to win the Democrat primary.

But if he'd get rid of his snotty little brother, he'd be close to today's Republicans. Google the 1960 democrat platform. You'll be amazed. Democrats opposed Communism, they didn't hate Christianity, they were against America's enemies, etc.. Complete opposites of the far-left moonbats they've become.

You can always tell bullshit by when Obama opens his mouth. He seriously thinks he has this election won. He is such a egomaniac. Reagan was more of a president than Obama will ever be. There will never be a President to match Reagan. He was the best.

How about spending less? I mean Jesus H Christ!!!! In my home budget, when I have a deficit... I spend less. I really don't know how hard that is to understand. You keep raising and raising taxes. You hurt production, therefor actually bring in less taxes. STOP SPENDING!!!

True. And JFK cut taxes and believed it was the best way to stimulate the economy.
“It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now … Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.â€

– John F. Kennedy, Nov. 20, 1962, president’s news conference
“Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased – not a reduced – flow of revenues to the federal government.â€
– John F. Kennedy, Jan. 17, 1963, annual budget message to the Congress, fiscal year 1964
