Let's speculate wildly about the Zimmerman backstory for a moment
Some on other threads have wondered if the father is CIA.
Some have wondered about the good old boy network. Is the KKK active in FL?
We know that the Zimmerman family was very rigid and insulated when George was coming up -- a very conservative Catholic family.
We know that the father is retired military of some kind.
We know that extremely crackpot Catholic communities exist in FL.
Is there a chance that the dad is Opus Dei?
We know that George was employed as a security guard for illegal house parties in FL. Illegal house parties are associated with providing alcohol (and perhaps other things) to underage teens.
We know that a co-worker for the service that provided the security for house parties has stated that George was overzealous, and wigged out regularly.
We know that George was arrested for assaulting a police officer who was trying to make an arrest on someone else. Did this happen at one of those illegal house parties?
Is there any special "protection" going on by the Sanford PD for the illegal house parties?
Let's brainstorm this.

1. A magistrate would seem to be a pretty useless cover for a CIA agent.
Yes, I suspect the illegal house parties were associated with underage drinking. I think the assault on a cop charge happened at a bar, when the plainclothes cop was attempting to arrest an underage friend of Zimmy. I discount the various conspiracy theories floating about. I think what happened is what appears. An overzealous wanna be vigilante was determined to not let "them get away" this time, and in his attempt to illegally detain Trayvon he shot him. Then racist persons in the SPD and SA just instinctively whitewashed the murder of a black youth by a white person. I suspect the FBI/DOJ investigation will turn up other incidents of similar nature.

They lived in Manassas Virginia -- many career military and defense contractors live in Northern Virginia. The Pentagon is commutable from there, as is the CIA, as is the NSA, as are many defense contract companies and consultants.
The mother was a court clerk in Virginia for 20 years. This indicates that if Robert Sr. was military, he worked in the Washington metro area.

My boyfriend's son was incarcerated in sunny Florida. He is mentality slow, was either raped or was someone's prison bitch, now is HIV positive.
The outcome doesn't seem all that rosey for Mr Snitchy Narc, dispenser of Glenn Beck's ideals of social injustice.

-- He served as a magistrate from 2000 - 2006
Other than that, I can't find any info on his education or work history. What was his job before 2000? From the Vietnam war until 2000 covers 25 years. Certainly enough time to put in your years with the CIA and walk away with a nice retirement.

23. Here's my speculation...
Zimmerman, who by all accounts was a cop wannabe, was in his vehicle going, according to his father, to the grocery store while armed saw Trayvon Martin and, because of the color of his skin, decided immediately he was suspicious. He then decided to follow him, first in his vehicle and then on foot, making a non-emergency 911 call about his suspicions. At the time of his 911 call, he had already left his vehicle and was on foot given his breathing heard on the 911 tape in addition to the question asked by the 911 operator as to whether Zimmerman was following the 'suspicious' person. Zimmerman ignored the subsequent response by the operator for him to stop following the person and continued to chase Trayvon Martin until he caught up with him, tackled him and subsequently shot him in cold blood.
The police arrived within 5 minutes of the killing, confiscate the gun and handcuff Zimmerman who was looked over by the EMS responders while in the back of the police vehicle and was deemed to be without any serious injury. A phone call made by someone with clout resulted in State Attorney Wolfinger AND police chief Lee going to the police station, unusual to say the least, and the phone call was made very quickly because Wolfinger and Lee were at the police station when Zimmerman arrived there. The decision was made VERY shortly after and over the objection of the chief investigator to not charge Zimmerman and he was released within two hours after he arrived at station and that decision was made because of the clout whoever made that phone call between the killing and the arrival of Zimmerman to the station.
Who has enough clout to do that? What is the connection between Wolfinger and the Zimmerman family? I have NO doubt there is a connection because of Wolfinger's recusing himself because of a conflict of interest not explained.
Edited to add: Could the connection between Wolfinger and the Zimmerman family be with George Zimmerman's wife who, interestingly, is rarely mentioned, the fact that Zimmerman is married at all is rarely mentioned.

I grew up Catholic.
I've watched the hate from the left grow. They despise all people of faith except muslims (who are believed to be easily manipulated). Jew and Christians are singled out by the left-we are hated. The War on Christmas is just the tip of the iceberg: the war is on all faith. The left wants not just power, but the minds and souls of the people as well.
In regards to Catholics. They will feel the sting of persecution first. Catholics are the most visible. Their priests and nuns wear uniforms, the churches stand out in any local they are built. In Poland, the Catholic church was a rally point of the revolution against the communist party--I think that has always angered/threatened the Left, they want the same kind of control.
Look at any progressive/liberal forum and the hate for people of faith is clear.

In case you didn't know this, the fecund grasswire primitive's hot on the trail of the freepers who murdered the late red round one, narrowing in on franksolich.
For months now, she's been busily reading all of franksolich that's on the internet, which is a whale of a lot of reading, because franksolich has been on the internet since 1995, always and only as franksolich.
She's been my most-dedicated reader, and I appreciate it. Such avid readers are rare.
I suspect Judy got the inspiration for this from reading the DUmmie FUnnies from the spring of 2005, when we were trying to figure out what was going on.
On three days in May-June 2005, the DUmmie FUnnies, a single little thread on freerepublic, garnered more "hits" and traffic than Skins's island all put together--the whole all put together--and there was a fourth day when the DUmmie FUnnies came close, but not quite.
But as the multi-overcoated Sherlock Holmes seems bound-and-determined that franksolich had something to do with the demise of the late red round one, I need to point out there's an easier way; no need to cull through the DUmmie FUnnies, which makes for voluminous and long reading.
It'd be easier if the pie-and-jam entrepreneurette just went to freerepublic and just looked up the comments of franksolich alone, disregarding the tens of thousands of other comments by others on the DUmmie FUnnies.
And she'd find something she wouldn't find by reading the DUmmie FUnnies.
You see, franksolich made an unfortunate comment that caused Jim Robinson to delete one edition of the DUmmie FUnnies, erasing the whole thing. And alas that was the biggest of the DUmmie FUnnies covering the Scamdal.
However, while an entire thread might be deleted on freerepublic, the individual comments are still preserved (I dunno why, but they are) in individual accounts.
By reading franksolich instead of the DUmmie FUnnies, the fecund grasswire primitive might come up with a lot of interesting tidbits (including my comment that got the whole thread deleted).
