Never went camping as a kid, but worked and lived in a tent (wood floor) as a Girl Scout swim instructor/counselor for 9 weeks between freshman and sophmore year in college. The next summer, I worked at a private girls "camp" in Maine where we slept in cabins with electricity, running water and full bathroom. The only "camping" of it was that there was no heat or tv.

As an adult, I camped a month for 5 days on Lake Cumberland, KY. NO bathroom, NO shower, NOTHING!! Lots of water though, it rained for 4 of the days.  :censored:

My idea of camping is staying in a hotel without room service.  :-)

Does the military count?  They have some jacked up places to go camping I swear. No restrooms no place to make a fire.  No showers.  Makes you want to stay home. :argh: :-)

The military can take anything that would be fun to do by yourself or with a few friends and turn it into the most God-awful jacked up painful experience ever...range fire, for instance...
