Title: My theme song
Post by: Rebel on March 29, 2012, 11:09:16 PM
Well, if I actually had a girl, that is.  :-)

(lurking DUmbasses, I've been married twice. Unlike you idiots, I have no problems getting a girl. THIS time, I'm being selective.)

Twice here too.  Too much to gamble on to get "third time is a charm" vs "three strikes and you are out."

Am I in the minority here? Same wife for almost 48 years, and no plan to change anything.

I was married for 11 years.  And would have remained married the rest of my life is she hadn't gone off the deep end.

My wife and I will hit 11 years in a few months.  First marriage for both of us--and if we have our way, the only marriage for either one of us.

25 years with this one, all before were just in some cases a short time fling.   11 years with one that did not like kids, What to say. never a dull moment.  2 died and broke my heart.

This does not mean not going on, searching for the right mate, Darn but life is full of surprises.

I don't plan on marrying again if I ever get divorced.  Been with him since 93 and I think I need some time to myself if I depart the marriage.

You & the wife are definitely an exemplary couple. Congratulation to you both and my God continue to shine his grace upon you.

My marriage lasted 24 yrs. I to was amongst the crowd to declare it would last forever, evidently it takes a wee bit more than declaring to make it so.

Thanks. I never declared it would last for any time, and I'm often confused as to why she's still with me.

I guess commitment and trust say it all.

Easy wedding date to remember: 7/11/ and 1964.

Been married twice and if this one ends before I go into the ground, I won't do it again.  I am proof that someone will learn if you hit them often and hard enough.

The Greatest generation is often spoke of as being the Greatest generation because they fought & won a War. That was just part of it. They knew the meaning of and lived commitment. Hardships weren't an excuse for escapism but a reason to try harder.

I have a world of respect for couples that are married for years & years & years. I know there time together hasn't always been easy but they stuck it out and survived most likely making their union stronger and more meaningful.

I think the biggest injury to marriages nowadays beyond the idiocy of no fault Divorces is the idea that marriages are a 50/50 partnership. If you are only contributing 50 % you are not trying hard enough.

We have been married for 25 years, I was 20 and he was 21 when we got married. If we live long enough, we will make it to 48.

Yeah, a few.  Sometimes I can be as dumb as the dog you try and keep from eating the cat's food.

In May, assuming we get there, it'll be Year 13. It's my 3rd go-round, her second.

If this one tanks, I'm done.

Congratulations, you old puddle pirate!  That is a rare and wonderful thing.

I was married once, 23 years. Divorced 2 years now. I just tried a relationship with a beautiful, intelligent woman, but it is still too soon.

No theme song for now.
