I've kind of become a television junkie lately because I work my brain so hard during the day, that by the time I get home I'm numb and just need to daze into the television and let the stresses of the day flow out of me.
Television works. So what shows are your favorites? Care to discuss them?
I'm a big fan of The Good Wife, Missing, NCIS, Body of Proof, New Girl, Unforgettable, Happy Endings, Person of Interest, The Mentalist, Blue Bloods, The Firm, Desperate Housewives, Cougartown, and GCB.
GCB is seriously a favorite, but I'm not an uptight religious person who's unwilling to laugh and take jabs at the hypocrisy of some Christians. It's cute and wrong on so many levels and I'm entertained by it.
-
I hate to admit it but I only pretty much watch reality shows, I can't think of 1 network show I watch regularly.
-
One storyline that has me intrigued these days is the relationship between Ted Danson's character and Elizabeth Shue's character in CSI. Do any of you watch it? Many people think they've had an affair, but I don't. I think they are father and daughter. Anyone?
-
all those shows you listed the only ones I' ve watched are Person of Interest & Unforgettable. Unforgettable got the axe and won't be back for a 2nd season.
I Like Spartacus , Mad Men , Once Upon A Time , The Vampire Diaries, Alcatraz, Justified.
Shows I'm waiting on the return are Dexter , True Blood , Boardwalk Empire and Game Of Thrones.
No Cable TV , All those show available for free download on the interwebs.

I left out many shows I actually watch due to not wanting to embarrass myself, but I love Dexter and True Blood too. I have Vampire Diaries recording on my DVR every week because my son loved it, but I've continued to watch. It's admittedly started annoying me now though. I have gotten to the point that I either want Elena to die or be turned because her character annoys the heck out of me and is forever the victim. Ugh!
I'm sad to hear about Unforgettable. I've enjoyed it a lot. I suppose we will be left hanging then regarding who killed her sister, huh? That stinks. Person of Interest surprises me. I love how diverse the storylines are. And it always entertains. Love it!

Elena is rather self righteous but everyone has her back for various reasons such as Family, friends, Estranged for now boyfriend is a vampire and the originals will protect her for now because she is the Doppelganger.

It's weird because I love the actress as Katherine. Haha!

I'm glad I'm not the only 'Psych' fan here. :-)
-
I also forgot to mention Covert Affairs. I like that Piper Peobo girl. She's adorable and the storylines are quick and fun.
-

I have yet to see a pineapple.

I have yet to see a pineapple.
Tell me about it. I sometimes threaten to go back through the dvr in slow motion, but not yet anyway.
-
There was a pineapple in an episode over the weekend. It was on Lassiter's desk in the police station.

I like Domenick Lombardozzi (Ray) from back when he was Herc on The Wire -- he was also on Entourage for a few episodes.
The latest I saw for Hell on Wheels is that the Season 2 premiere date hasn't been determined yet . . .

All My "television" is via the internet. I'm boycotting Cable TV, I figure I'm saving at least $50/month. Watch all programs on my little 32" flat panel TV/monitor.

I'm with you on all of those; except replace The Killing with Fringe.

What's Fringe about?
American Horror Story is coming back for season 2, some time in the fall. I nadined it, unlike Vesta and her espresso maker. :-)

My TV rarely leaves NHL Network (or NBCSports, if a game is on there), but when it does it's pretty much for Archer, American Dad, Alaska State Troopers or... Yeah, that's about it.

I watch the following shows weekly:
Harry's Law
Celebrity Apprentice
The Voice (starting to dislike the show now... the judges keep the crap singers around)
The Biggest Loser
The Middle (stars Patricia Heaton.. such an adorable show)
Parks & Recreation
The Office
Up All Night
Ghost Adventures
Parking Wars
I really like Raising Hope too, but it comes on at the same time as The Biggest Loser. I don't feel the need to buy a DVR, so I watch Raising Hope on Netflix.
-
Alcatraz
Fringe
Person of Interest
The Mentalist
Columbo
-
Watching episodes of Bernie Mac on Netflix. I never watched it when it was on TV. It's hilarious.
Others:
Burn Notice
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones (just discovered it and LOVE IT)
-
Oh, and I loved Alcatraz but they are canceling it.
-

WHAT?
-
Oh, and I loved Alcatraz but they are canceling it.
I like Alcatraz too. it was only going to last 63 or so episodes anyway. Unless they changed the premise of the show.
-
WHAT?
That's what thew news out of Hollywood is. They will finish airing the first season but not be on for a second. They either say Alcatraz or The Fringe will be canceled for sure.
-
I just recently discovered a show called The Black Donnelley's. It's interesting except for the way it's narrated by the dude in Prison.
-
Season two of Spartacus is over after only 10 episodes. I wonder why a station would bother for only 10 episodes, unless it's a money issue. Which don't make sense if they are going to renew for another season.
-
I loved The Black Donnellys! It was such a disappointment that it ended so quickly. I thought it was great!
-
As far as currently- running shows, my favorites are 'Psych' (Though I sadly fell asleep and missed last night's episode), 'Burn Notice,' 'Once Upon a Time,' and 'Grimm.'
-
I watch as little TV as humanly possible, but as Mrs E is addicted to it sometimes the only time I get to "see" her is from the side as she's focused on that friggin' idiot window.
I hate television with a passion, especially the nonstop commercials. It's pretty much commercials interrupted by portions of programs once in awhile.
But I do watch the idiot box when I'm on the elliptical. Just the other day I counted SEVEN commercials ranging in length from 30 seconds to 1 minute. This was during Bret Baier's show on Fox, IIRC.
And I'm partial to Mike Holmes "Holmes on Homes" and his Mike Holmes "Home Inspection" programs on Sunday evening.
The rest of it? Pfffft.....and don't even talk to me about so-called "prime time". I don't know and I don't care.

Anybody watching The Killing? New season started up; I still have it on DVR & haven't caught up.
Since Moviebuff checked in here, maybe he'll be back. MB, about 4 years ago I had a major move. Everything in boxes. During a stint of spring cleaning, I unpacked one of the boxes, and found something I forgot I ever had. It was an unopened DVD of one of your reviewed movies: MST3K's "Santa Claus (Conquers? Vs.? ) the Martians. :yahoo: Haven't watched it yet, I'm waiting for an afternoon by myself, since this is my cup of tea, and mine alone. :-)

Karin -- that is a CLASSIC MST3K!! You're gonna love it! :-)

Awesome!
That is one of the best episodes of the entire series (btw, the title is "Conquers"). I don't have it on DVD, I watch it on Youtube (Most if not all of the episodes of MST3K are on it).
Enjoy it!
btw, in a bit of MST3K- related news, I believe some of you may remember that in my two movie marathons, I brought up the "Rifftrax Live" events that the MST3K crew did a few times. Well, this morning, I found out that they'll be doing another one of those in theaters this August, that'll be returning them to their MST3K roots: A fresh look at the infamous 'Manos: The Hands of Fate' (A classic episode of MST3K, examining what's widely considered to be the single worst movie ever made). Fortunately, I doubt it'll just be a rerun of the episode, since out of the three Rifftrax stars, the only one who actually was in that episode was Kevin J. Murphy (Voice of Tom Servo), as it was before Mike Nelson and Bill Corbett gained their respective roles on the show. They'll probably post the exact date of the live screening sometime this summer.
-
Oh good, you came back! Thx, NJPines, I look forward to it.
Manos was another one I found in the box. I watched that, and had forgotten just how dreadful it was. The ending skit, where Mike-as-Torgo delivering the pizza always cracks me up.
On the DVD, they had an "outtakes" section. One part is hilarious. Mike keeps trying to deliver the pizza, and every time he simply opens his mouth and says "Large...." everyone starts guffawing and losing it. Funny stuff.
Oh, and I just got a couple Rifftrax DVD's. I watched the Shortstoberfest. Fantastic!

For yrs I watched little or no television and then it was an occasional movie and primarily news/talking Heads programs. I even gave up cable because the few shows i did watch I could either stream or download over the internet. Then one by one shows started catching my attention. There are about dozen and a half I watch now. Still get em all via the internet though and No commercials.
A new one that looks promising is Magic City.
-
Fringe
Doctor Who
Those are my two favorites.
When I had Showtime, I never missed Dexter.
I like Psych but haven't started watching the new season yet. I also like Burn Notice and House.
And Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld.
And South Park.
-
Tonight is the only night of the week I plan on watching television ahead of time.
7:00: The Big Bang Theory
8:00: Touched
-
I don't have Cable, but my DVD player can be used to stream internet TV and I have an Amazon prime subscription so I can usually find something to watch. I recently started watching Downton Abbey and London Hospital, and both are excellent. London Hospital shows dramatizations of real medical cases from London Hospital in the early 20th century.
I enjoy reality shows quite a bit. I love The Biggest Loser, and I actually really like Australia's "The Biggest Loser," but I have to stream that through a somewhat sketchy website. I also enjoy shows like Dirtiest Jobs, The Deadliest Catch, and Mythbusters.
