GOP Lawmaker Accidentally Reveals Truth Behind Solyndra Investigation

WASHINGTON -- After months of investigations into Solyndra and other Department of Energy loans failed to produce a smoking gun, one Republican lawmaker let slip why House Republicans have kept up the charge.

In an interview following yet another hearing in which Energy Secretary Steven Chu testified about the Department's loan guarantee program, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) conceded that Republicans' ongoing probes of the program -- from which the bankrupt California-based solar company Solyndra and others benefited -- are largely a play to win votes in November.

"Our staff will continue to dig into it and see," Jordan told Energy and Environment Daily. "But what I hope happens is we stop doing these kind of things ... this whole cronyism approach to the marketplace.

"Ultimately, we'll stop it on Election Day, hopefully. And bringing attention to these things helps the voters and citizens of the country make the kind of decision that I hope helps them as they evaluate who they are going to vote for in November."

How many jobs did the $700 million that Solynadra pissed away create or save?

According to SecEnergy Chu 85% of the loans the DOE gave out went bankrupt and were complete losses. That there is what a Liberal Loser calls an A.

Could we please get the stupid people back in charge? The country can't stand anymore SMART Power!!!!111!!!!eleventy

The problem is, everyone in this administration can regurgitate enough answers from a textbook to get their degree, but not a one of them has a damn lick of sense.

Actually, Huffington and puffington DISTORTS what the congressman said.

The original story is found on a site that requires a paid account, though, so it's hard for most people to get the right story. The story is located HERE (http://www.eenews.net/eed/2012/3/21).

Basically, he did NOT IMPLY that the issue is being used MAINLY as a wedge issue. What he stated i regard to votes were that, once the election were over (presumably with a stronger conservative presence), actions could be taken to investigate and prevent occurrences of this in the future.

Big whoop about nothing, but it gives the left more jerky-time material.

You mean after the elections we won't have to worry about newly elected politicians pandering and getting in bed with these bad unprofitable green companies? That was the way I interpeted the statement, not that the investigation stops when the election was over.

If "green tech" was such an awesome ****ing investment there would be no problem with making a public spectacle about it during and election year.

Just like OBAMAcare.

Well, maybe if the good congressman would have gone to that great new site, http://www.electstevedawes.com, he would have learned a thing or three and been able to convey the message better.

Tomorrow, Friday is the second anniversary of Obama signing ObamaCrap into law, and the White House has no plans to celebrate it.

It's another example of the dripping, effusive hypocrisy at the DUmp.  They'd try to drag every possible scandal out into the open to discredit a Republican President--Hell, they even made a few up (do the TANG fake memos  ring a bell or two?)--but when their tactics are used against them, then they get their butt plugs out of place. :panic: :runaway:

I almost wandered into this swamp the other day with a moonbat neighbor.  One of the quickest ways to disarm their aloof 'I studied at Harvard' (and have a gourd full of knowledge), is to ask them if they think Fiji Islanders (or any other primitive culture you choose) are truly stupid or simply ignorant.  Then point out that while they have not heard one wit of the Bard, they can feed themselves and demonstrate intelligence conforming to statistical norms.  You can train a monkey to play a piano, getting them to compose a symphony is a whole different matter.

I've always wanted to DUmp one of the educated elite in a primitive area and see how long they would last....can I get a government grant for that?

Or, if the facts are skipped over, then there were no facts.

Or something like that.

Anyway, It's racist to blame Obummer.

Screw the grant, can we get a "Liberal Survivor" series.  Talk about the phrase "people would pay good money to see that".

Lord of the Flies  in real life??    Think of the possibilities.   :rotf: :rotf:

Hunger Games is a series of 4 novels made into a movie. It is a modern day rendition of Lord Of The Flies.

Frankly, I wonder if they play Follow the Money, they will find the laundry ticket that cleans it up for the Obama campaign.
