Title: Scientists Cure Cancer, But No One Takes Notice
Post by: CactusCarlos on March 20, 2012, 07:28:03 PM
Quote
Canadian researchers find a simple cure for cancer, but major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.

Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have recently cured cancer, yet there is but little ripple in the news or on TV. It is a simple technique using a very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders, so there is no concern of side effects or other long term effects.

The drug doesn’t require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies.

My wife is a Nurse, but not very experienced in metabolic disorders, but will ask doctors she knows. It isn't uncommon for approved drugs to have efficacy in treating conditions not originally intended for. Dichloroacetic acid doesn't sound like an extremely difficult molecule to produce, but maybe there is a patent on the process of manufacturing it.

I'll remain skeptical until I see the scientific paper.  So far, the only Google results that refer to this are "alternative medicine" sites, while more reputable sites are calling it carcinogenic.  It is entirely possible, but I'll reserve judgement until I see more of the research.

If this were true, it would never be approved as part of Obamacare. Prolonging life is more expensive in the long run. Thats why Obamacare is invested in killing patients  than curing them.

I hear people saying, "Oh They have a cure for cancer alright but they can't make any money off of you if they cure it. They just don't want us to know that."

If that were true, do you think Ted "Row-ton" Kennedy would have died of cancer?

You think he should have rowed over to Mary Jo, pulled her out of 6 feet of water, and rowed her back safely to the shore, providing CPR as necessary ? That would have been a "ton" of "row"ing for "Row-ton"

You mean other than metabolic disorders ?

Any disorder, from athletes feet to hair loss.    Why is this whatever it is, sold as a food supplement, and why is the cost to buy this supplement so high, some company's charge over $200.00 for it.    Checked out the prices on line but have no where can I find why one use it for some reason.

When I was in the lab (almost six years ago), I used to test for dichloroacetic acid in drinking water--it's a byproduct of the chlorination of said water.  It's one chlorine atom short of chloroform.  Not sure if one wants to take chloroform into their body, but that's personal preference.
