I didn't see any EBT cards. The money type food stamps seem to be going away, as well they should be. It's a legal form of counterfeiting, which in the end is still illegal.

Let me get out the calculator to figure out if this will benefit me. why worry about using loop holes in the law and taking advantage of a free lunch, we all do it on our federal income taxes, deduct everything from State taxes to money spent to regester our cars and down to town fees for a dog license. All adds up and is legal.
So If I divorce my husband and rent a room in our old house can I get section 8 ??? He charges $800.00 a month for the room and I handicapped get $50.00 for living expenc es and the State pays him the now land lord $750.00 a month ?? Sweet deal.
I get $200.00 a month in food stamps, and apply for State aid heating and electric benefits. Gets better, I now can claim him my land lord as care giver and get extra money to pay him to take me to doctors visits and be around to help me with personal care, zip up the back of my dress or pick up medication at the drug store and make sure I take it on time. Extra $300 a month to keep me out of a nursing home that has to take in those with no money.
All is legal in my state, taxes I pay is for SS benefits if I apply and if I don't, then I pay no taxes. If I own a car or boat or private airplane I can deduct the cost of registering them and getting a dog tag for the pooch.
Be surprised at what is legal to deduct from income taxes. Be surprised at all the free benefits out there for those that take the time to look them up.
Fellow I know makes over $40,000 a year, he goes to the local Salvation Army for his dinner, goes in late and the leftovers are given to him for lunch the next day. In 20 years this man has never spent one dime of his own on food.
Question is it morally wrong to follow the laws of the State or Federal government ??? Is it morally wrong to get any and all benefits that one qualifies for legally.
Jesus said to rend unto Cesar what is his, he made no statement about when or how to collect benefits Cesar had in place for them.
We have out TIT caught in the wringer of the so called help from the Government and private agency's. Seems most of Europe also has the problem, when in doubt follow the law and you will benefit more from the it then if you were an outlaw.
When the Government calls for free lunch even the most wealthy will be lined up for it. Matter of fact they will be pushing the hungry back to the end of the line.

We need to bring back the social stigma that used to exist when folks were on food stamps.
It used to be an embarrassment. Now it's something that folks brag about?
I know that when my 1st child was born, I was a mere private in the Army (living in Monteray CA). We received WIC benefits for a few months.
I was utterly embarrassed and ashamed to be getting that benefit. I damn sure wouldn't have bragged about it. I'm not against giving folks that truly need it a helping hand, but in today's world it has become a multi-generational handout system. It is rife with fraud and abuse and is structured to provide zero incentive for getting off of the gov't teat.
