Headline: Building Regulations allow a major city to weather a major earthquake.
Any chance you will see that one gracing the front page of the NYTs. How about the WAPO? Even my local Union Trib?
Yet that should be the headline. A 7.6, or 7.8 in the Richter scale is not a minor quake.
But in the current, we hate any regulations environment, since Mexico City, or the rest of the affected area are not resembling 1985, our media will mostly ignore this. And regulations work, who knew?
We already know this will end up being a US hatefest over how things are managed here.

I've worked hard today. Can you translate her post into American English from the native nadinese?

I can translate, but first you'll need a piece of paper, sharpie, yardstick (or broom handle), Geiger counter, a container of powdered milk, (frozen milk is an okay substitute), a decent (good) camera (rig), a ruler (to connect the dots), and a fifth of good whiskey. Drink the whiskey and the remainder will be as useful as the information she is trying to pass on (still won't make sense). :-)

I was in Ixtapa in 96 when a big one hit mexico city. It shook the hell out of the hotel but no damage to the places built with US dollars and concern. On the other hand, mexico city got the snot beat out of it. Maybe they learned something form that incident.

I wish she would go back to babbling in Spanish.

Just multiply what she says by 60, and you get centipedes.
She's bragging about how an earthquake in the shithole south of the border didn't do much damage in Mexico City.
That was mainly because the earthquake was 200 miles away from Mexico City.
It devastated the huts and mud brick buildings near the epicenter.
One proof the nutcase is a nutcase is that she cannot see the shithole is a shithole.

I heard reports that a black MH-60L landed in front of Nads' house today. Two Little Birds hovered over the normally quiet San Diego neighborhood.
Nads waddled out in her EMT uniform, The Good Rig, 10 inch blade, M203 (in case of shootout with the cartels), and a ruck loaded with nuclear milk. Witness reports said she was not wearing boots as she rolled onto the deck of the helicopter, and the cabin door closed.
The Black Hawk took off, and the three-ship stick flew off to the southeast at rooftop level, quickly slipping below the radar into Mexican airspace.
Report in the East County Shopper to follow.

Were any drug lords hurt?

Thank goodness, no.
Suffice it to say, nadin did not want to fast-rope down from that chopper if it wasn't necessary.

7. That is why damage was minimal
Same quake in LA damage would do much more damage. See Northridge at 7.1.

10. 235 miles to be exact.
But apparently, Mexico has building regulations and the US doesn't.

Roger that, call sign Charlie Foxtrot is heavy and Foxtrot Sierra. :-)

Better add structural engineer to the list of Nads knows. She knows that building design in the third world country of Mexico is far superior to the most stringent and advanced codes used in southern CA.
BTW, I wonder if she has seen Steves web site? www.electstevedawes.com

Northridge was a 6.7 ... Can that DUmmie get anything correct? She's polluting the gene pool.

The one and only thing that Nadainthebrain knows about earthquakes is that it must be jelly because jam don't shake like that.

I barely speak a word of Spanish, but I bet that if she did so then any Spanish speakers would be utterly unable to decipher it.

Not only that, but Mexico City is built on a dry lake bed! The place shakes like jello, as compared to say Kalifornica, that is basically built on bedrock! NadaBrain, as usual, leaves out the facts or simply is not near as intelligent as she thinks she is! I'll bet money on the latter!
Odds on NadaBrain havin' intelligence is payin' 4 to 1! Contact your local bookie for the pay off!
