Quote
Occupy Wall Street, largely forgotten over the last few months, aims to make a comeback from this winter’s hibernation with an ambitious plan: a crippling May Day “general strike” in the tradition of 1930s radicalism.

The grand promise is what one occupier, Brendan Burke, described to BuzzFeed as “a day without the 99%.” But in the city where the movement was born, it's already suffering from what has emerged as one of Occupy's signal weaknesses, the lack of ability or interest to make alliances with liberal institutions. Despite public solidarity, there’s little relationship between the Occupy movement and organized labor. And as a result, even the most progressive New York labor leaders say their members will not participate in the May 1 strike.

“It won’t happen,” said Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and one of the first labor leaders to embrace the Occupy movement. “They are not working with the unions in a serious way yet; nor are the unions working with them in a serious way. And it is the wrong strategy.”

“I think the concept is a great one but the reality is very tough,” said Arthur Cheliotes, the President of Local 1180, Communications Workers of America and a stalwart of the New York left.

If only those who think America is so unfair would boycott the welfare office and elections.

It will be floptastic.  I hope they hype the living shit out of it beforehand, in order to increase the humiliation that much more.

As a pilot, when protesting on Mayday, would I be prohibited from using Mayday as a distress signal ? Please use liberal logic when replying.

May 1 will be the Tuesday after payday.

1.  All on-line bill payments I make on payday will clear on May 1.

2.  I have just decided to put off all routine shopping from the weekend until May 1.

3.  I  have also just decided that, budget permitting, I will move up a big-ticket purchase I've been planning for later in the year.

4.  And of course, health permitting, I will be going to work.

BUY-COTT!

I see no reason these people cannot use the Mayday as a distress call also.    Mommy, Daddy please wire me bail money from your Capitalistic Bank account. --Shit no one at home they both must be working.

Good choice of a motto for the kids, most of them are sky high on some damn thing and in trouble.

To bad they did not chose SOS for a motto, a good description for them, Shit on [a] Shingle.

Shame they did not pick the day NY has it's giant Gay Parade,  I would love to see both parades meet up, now that would keep most of the world glued to their TV for 24 hour action, heck next day with no sleep ,on May 2 everyone would be to tired to go to work from staying up all night.  Fancy the Sports Bars with 40 TV's and the Jocks glued to the screens refusing to leave at closing time.

Gay bars packed to the rafters, more Capitalist money will change hands on May 1st in small neighborhood bars then in the last month.

I want to see the day these parents and family's go on strike an refuse to rescue the kids from their stupidity.   So maybe the kids will calm down after a rectal exam ------serve them right to have a boo-boo in the old Poop Shut.

Arrested Gays, hell they will love this as they sing while marching, " Yank my doodle its a dandy, Yank my doodle if you dare"   Apology's to James Cagney fans.

Interesting reality show idea.

Vesta, I think I'm beginning to understand your writing style, but don't you think cinco de mayo would be a better day? They only have to wait an extra 4 days, and that's a short bender for a lib.

How many Latinos know or care what May 5 had to do with them????  Just an excuse to raise Hell.   Tequila runs like a river, and every one drinks Cuba Libra, cheers for the Lime.

We just had ST. Patrick's day and by golly few of the whites marching were Irish Catholics and very few Protestant whites were beaten up for inadvertently and ignorantly wearing Orange.  Green beer rules and in some cases so do green rives.

Those 4 days  of wait are not the Lib style, they want everything NOW.

So if they had gotten their Pony, by now the damn thing would be dead as they did not realise they had to feed it or clean up its poop.
