In Springtime a dog's fancy turns to . . . . . cherry blossoms?

The cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin in DC are early this year. They're supposed to peak on Tuesday, but they were spectacular today, even as it was cloudy and a few days early. Sparkly and I headed there this morning.

We were quite surprised at the number of dogs we saw. Lots of dogs, actually. So we started informally identifying breeds. We were amazed. The greatest number of one breed we saw were Shih-Tzus! Then Border Collies (but all mutts that looked to be mostly BC). Then GSDs, and then various Labs, Chessies, Goldens, etc. One really gorgeous Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

The dogs were having as much a good time as the people did!

1. Happy doggie spring

I was playing chuck-it with my dog (mutt that looks mostly BC, LOL) and she went for a ball under a blooming bush and came out with pollen all over her head! Hilarious. Today I took her out to the green farmland around the local horse race track to play with her best doggie friend, a GSD belonging to a good friend of ours, and they ended up in the pond. My car now smells like swamp water and she had to put up with a bath when we got home. We are quite a bit ahead on spring here in central Kentucky.

There were dogs playing everywhere though, they were all so happy. We ran into a collie mix and a beagle mix, both were 10, happy as could be even when they played a bit with our going on 2 years old, crazy pair.

Layla is sacked out with my husband now. A tired dog is a happy dog!

3. Ours in PA haven't bloomed out yet

I'm surprised they're already budding this early though. The tree in my backyard is a cherry blossom (which needs a serious haircut this year or I'll have no sun at all in my yard). Where I live they're everywhere. It's rather a shame that they bloom out for such a short time before all the petals fall off though.

Boo loved it when the petals fell. They all seem to come off at once so it's like pink blizzard for a couple of days. The whole yard gets a thick blanket of them. They're slippery as hell when they get wet though, so as pretty as the pink blanket is, if it rains or drizzles or we even get a lot of dew they have to be raked up.

I think Yoshi will love them. He generally loves things that fly or blow around on the ground.

Out here, it's been more than a month since the first tomatoes and catnip burst through the surface of the William Rivers Pitt, and the cats have been having a ball romping and playing among the foliage of this ancient all-natural-ingrediented monument.

I hadn't seen much of the old dude on Skins's island lately--his wife's been limiting his hours there because he gets too upset and bent out of shape, and it hurts his health--and was wondering how it was going with him.

You know, it's a tragedy the old dude's lost all his hair, and he looks rather silly in a tutu, but one's compelled to envy him for his anatomically-perfect ears.

Damn, the guy has an awesome pair of flaps.

Too bad there's nothing in between them.

Well, ya know, frank...those cigars aren't helping his health either.

That's a pity. A man should be able to enjoy a good cigar now and again. Moderation in everything.

The Dude has a lovely wife, a pretty and caring woman who could make a man's golden years the best years of all. He'd be wise to listen to her.

Y'know, if Sparkly plays her cards right, she could be a lovely widow, a pretty and caring widow. With all of the old dude's gold.

Wow. You must not have ever read any of DUmmy Sparkly's thirty-some thousand DUmp posts. She may photograph better than some DUmp women, but her mind, her soul, is as vicious and mean and hateful as proud2BDUmb, or Warpy, or Horse with no Brain.

I won't discount the possibility that some of her worst posts may be shithead squatting Mike posting under her name, but not all. She may be able to play piano, but she's also a disgusting DUmp bitch.

Still I wish them happiness in their liberal induced misery. Sounded like a nice day.

Sparkly just needs a real man.

The last two choices were redundant ?

Oh my.

Somebody's reading this ancient thread.

I wonder who it is.
