Viewing a member's posts?
Is there a quick and easy way to do this?
I remember doing it on DU2, but can't seem to find how to do it in DU3.
Am I missing something really simple?

1. Unlike some discussion forums, DU doesn't have an easy way for people to do that. The old search tool let you search for a DUer, if you were a contributing member, but the search didn't lead directly to posts within threads, making it inconvenient to go searching for individual posts.
Now, in DU3, we don't have that, either. Why?
Because people tend to use such tools to look for incriminating posts by people they dislike, and then quote them out of context to attack the DUer they don't like. It goes like this:
But you said, back in November....something or another that demonstrates that you are a butthead and should be banned.
I've seen that happen on many discussion forums that have that "Show Posts" feature, usually in the profile for a poster. It's never productive of anything but to continue personal disputes. It's also a convenient tool for people who are stalking other members of a forum.
So, DU doesn't have that feature. I'm not a mind-reader, but I think the Admins deliberately don't include it, to help prevent that kind of behavior.

I think the reason we can't search DUer's posts is simply because there's no DU search function yet. That's all.
Once there's a DU search function people will be able to use it for good or ill, no differently than they used it on DU2.
And really, using your hypothetical example:

So what? That kind of post can (and probably will) be alerted on as a personal attack and a jury will deal with it. That's how it's supposed to work here.

I think it's both. It's pathetic to think that long-time DUers have to pony up more money for the search function, but it's a great capitalist move, so it is money-grubbing genius.

I'm totally with chris on this one. Skins is a master of distracting the primitives. He can't even make a site with a proper 'search' function, and so he quickly says, "look, a bean teepee!", and so the primitives look, and forget about the whole thing.

Some other big forums are like that... they nickel and dime you to death for everything. Archives? Five bucks. Search? Ten bucks. Custom user title? That's another Lincoln.

Hell, I did it and didn't even have to write my own software. What a bunch of idiots for paying Skins, who's only job IS to service the DUmmies. It's easy as hell here, DUmmies, click name --> view posts.
