Well. I am now Technically Homeless (But I'm Lucky)

My unemployment insurance ran out 4 months ago, the "Texas Jobs Boom" is a myth, and my bungalow was foreclosed on. I moved out yesterday. But like the headline says, I'm one of the lucky ones. My older brother Sean is an engineer living here in Everett, WA who is not a member of the 1% but probably is in the 7-or-8 percent, and has allowed me to move in with him and his family. I shall have to listen (again) to his lectires about my Liberal Arts degree vs. something more concrete like--you guessed it--engineering, but hey, maybe he's right. Even if not, the bottom line is that I have a roof over my head tonight.

Again, and I cannot stress this enough, I am one of the lucky!

Maybe I am a mean bastard, but I have no sympathy for someone who sat on their butt and collected unemployment until it ran out, then 4 months after that hasn't found a job of some kind. I find it funny that he is worried about the lectire [sic] he will get about choosing a worthless degree.

He's a fiscal conservative but soured on the GOP after the Shrub's unaccounted-for expenditures.

9. Thank you

And my bro is not so bad. He's just your basic old-school Irish Catholic who believes in conservative principles, and has grown distrustful of profligate GOP spending.

If that is case he isn't going to run into the arms of the Dems.

Not one of them mention that this is 0bma's economy, if Bush was president they would be blaming him.

The economy has been the sole domain of the Democrats for 3 years now. Suck on it DUmmies. They ran the off the cliff and over the edge. We'll be lucky to survuve the crash afterwards.

Got fired.
Sat on his ass for four months and diligently emptied the mailbox of bills daily (recycling points).
Finally got evicted by the Sheriff.
Went out and got drunk.
3:00 A.M. call to out of state family for bus ticket.
I am so lucky, life is good.

Then he must be completely fermented over Zero's "Shrub on steroids" unaccounted-for expenditures.

Not since Teddy Roosevelt has more people taken to the great outdoors. Obamas' presidency will be known for turning great numbers of people on to the "Great Outdoors".

6 years.  Dems took control of the House and Senate in 2006.  And they started spending like drunken sailors.

Actions, consequences, yadda yadda yadda.

Will they never figure it out?  Memo to DUmmies--stop licking the frozen flagpoles.  It was amusing the first few times, but now you're just playing for sympathy with your stupidity.

22.  Tell your bro that even an engineering degree these days isn't a guarantee of a first job, or protection against future unemployment.

So let me see if I understand this DUmbass.  Try to tell your brother who just took you in and is in the 7 or 8 percent of income, about the virtues of a engineering degree.  A degree that is apparently supporting your sorry ass.  What a bunch of idiots.  The stupidity among these people just makes your head hurt.

Seems that engineering degree worked much better than a liberal arts degree. I bet his brother took an entry level position right out of college and that is why he has a good job today. These fools think that once you get your degree you can be CEO in a week.

I've got just one question for the pwned mom primitive.

No guarantees? Bah! I just had two resumes from acquaintances that are engineers hired by my employers. Best part was that one had a Civil and the other a Mechanical (specialized in Hangers/Supports for steam piping) the most highly sought after disciplines in the field. They only have to stay on board for 30 days and I collect 7 G's in bounty. The other engineering disciplines just pay off at 2500.

Since I think this pos is being a bit sarcastic, I wanted to say that you are one of the lucky ones you ungrateful jackass. I have NO ONE to fall back on family wise and I have 3 minor children I'm still raising including 2 boys with special needs. You don't know how lucky you have it if all you have to worry about is yourself and you have family willing to help you when you are down(even ones who will tolerate you in their home after you've been out of work for 2.5 years now(?) I'd love to know what a safety net like that is like. Everyday here is lived on my own ability(including ability to keep it all together when I just want to run the other way) and the kindness of my ex husband and friends willing to help with the kids here and there. I don't know that I'll ever know what it's like to just take a deep breath again and know everything will be ok, even if I falter at some point or God forbid get sick in anyway. Poor, pitiful dummie..I feel super bad for you..not.  :whatever:

Yeah, my brother is doing ok with an engineering degree too..I think it's mechanical as well-energy of some kind or transport of it since he works fr a firm involved with natural gas. He's barely 30.

Yet another ant and grasshopper story.  Why are the DUchebag Liberals always the complaining grasshoppers?

Sounds like the brother and his family are the unlucky bastards in this parable.

Grow the F up DUmmie and support yourself.

Take a job... the first job you're offered, even if it pays minimum wage.  I accepted a job at $9/hr just to get off of unemployment.  It was a struggle because it was a huge pay cut from my job I had before being laid off.  Now I work for an "EVIL" bank that pays me more than my job I had before being laid off, with all the OT I want to work.

You have to actually show people you are willing to work or else you are never going to make it.

Bingo. That's why I'm working at Waffle House now. It's a struggle; but it's work.

What?

Oh my Dear Lord, do I feel bad for that brother!  And his wife, if he has one.  A freeloading relative, lazy and self-entitled, parked right there like a lump in the living room and guest room.  These never end well.

15. Yes, indeed.

I have had a similar experience, except that now the Unemployment people have decided that I owe them $1,282 because I resigned from my part-time job to move a state away--in order to live rent free with a close friend. I have appealed their 'decision' and plan to do so again--and, as many more times as I can, until they deprive me of that option. I don't know where they expect me to get that much money. I guess they think I can poop it out of my ass.

Can anyone interpret what sort of scam was going on there, reading between the lines?  At any rate, as we know, a government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take it all away.

I've heard it called the Awful Waffle. Honestly, the food there is pretty darn good though. Not too pricey either.
