TWO Olde Towne merchants have my flyers next to their cash registers this morning!!!
(Let me guess, the local adult book store and the local pawn shop?)
They open at 10. Both supported the incumbent 4 years ago. Others to follow their lead soon.
(How many adult book stores and pawn shops are in Bellevue?)
I'm out the door to do some door to door.

Do they make them in industrial size?

The carpetbagger makes the supreme error of thinking that allowing him to post his flyers on their bulletin board equals support for him and his candidacy. Look at the cash register area of almost any cafe. What will you find? Flyers for everything from missing cats to fundraiser car washes to mobile oil changes.
Steve's encounter at the pancake house:
Steve Dawes, Sarpy County Socialist: "Hi, can I put my flyer up on your bulletin board?"
Cashier: "Sure."
Steve: "I'm running for City Council, you know."
Cashier: "Umm, aren't you that guy who hangs around at the girls' basketball games? My dad says I shouldn't talk to you."
Steve: "Oh yeah? Well, your dad is a Cave dwelling troll!"
Cashier: "Dad, that creepy guy is here!"
And that's why Steve has two flyers posted at local businesses, and not three.
-
Well if he can't poke at Nads anymore, the Socialist is the next best target.
You know, I just did a nadin on "steve dawes bellevue".
There's something I never knew about nadin searches--and yeah, probably everybody else knew this, but I didn't.
The seventh entry is:
Bellevue Socialist Steve Dawes Applies For A Job
and at the bottom of that entry is:
More results from conservativecave.com »
which leads to:
About 132 results
which is everything that's been mentioned about the big guy here (on edit: everything where the name "Steve Dawes" is used; of course there's much more here about "Omaha Steve," most of which do not include "Steve Dawes").
Damn.
And here, I was always using the "search" function here.

Do you suppose the business owners noticed when the fat guy laid them down on the counter, beside the "need a penny, take a penny" tray.
I'm afraid most Socialisit Steve flyers will end up as litter on telephone poles, along with "lose 20 pounds", "lost cat", and "Ron Paul for President".

I doubt the big guy does any walking around. Bad shoulder, you know.
That's why he's so sensitive about having his picture taken.
Surreptitious photos of people walking, running, working, campaigning, etc., are how investigators uncover bogus disability scams like Steve's.
But not to worry, he has Marta to be his Jeannette.

I'm telling you, yard signs are the way to go in city elections.
OS is already nickel and diming his campaign, wasting the DU Gold on future litter.
While he walking his "door to door" route, I hope he has a stack of his future litter and puts one under every wiper blade on both streets he drags his hairy fat ass along.
Yep, yard signs. That's the ticket to get your name in front of the people. One yard sign along a busy thoroughfare in Bellevue will be seen by hundreds, every day. Someone crams a political pamphlet under your wiper becomes instant trash.

Does illegally using the copiers, and reams upon reams of paper at his plant count? It's all done on union time and paid for by the taxpayer. Sure its theft, but that's the union way, right?

Ooops.
I never thought of that.
When I worked at the Nebraska Department of Health mucho many years ago, the secretary to the human resources director was always in the copying room, running off thousands of flyers for her husband's thoroughbred horse business.....at taxpayers' expense.
She did it rather blatantly and openly, too.
I forgot all about that until now. One wonders if the big guy has access to a photocopying machine at the Omaha waterworks.
-
When I find a flyer under my windshield wiper blade, I always remove it and drop it on the ground, after noting who the perpetrator was.
I don't consider it littering, I'm just moving the litter from my car to the ground.
That way, whoever has to clean up the parking lot also gets to notice who's responsible for the littering.
-

Highly likely. He is the SEIU shop steward at the Sewage Plant. However, remember that the Wailing Waif is transferring to a job at the Omaha Police Dept. soon.
But, the astute voting citizens of Bellevue, NE will be discerning enough to recognize a cheapskate that used a Xerox rather than having the flyers and pamphlets done up professionally, in three color glossies, evenly trifolded.

Nope, he's AFSCME. That's like the difference between Mao and Pol Pot, i.e., not much.

This issue in the flyers is on the web site in the news section. The incumbent voted to spend $30,000 extra tax payer $ to get less done.
The 10,000 flyers go out 2 weeks from today.
More on this later.

Oh dear. THAT is the March surprise??
Scott Houghtaling must be so concerned that it is FINALLY being pointed out that he voted against spending Bellevue taxpayer money on property outside the Bellevue city limits.
Oh wait, there was an article on it last November. The reporter in the first two paragraphs provided more than sufficient reasons for their votes. Voters already knows this.
Nevermind.
I usually don't call local races this early on, but damn if Steve doesn't have a prayer to pull this out of his considerably lame ass.

Well, on Sunday, March 11, the big guy promised us he'd put out his "secret issue" on or about April 18.
One wonders what that's all about.

Well, a quick google search of what a typical voter might look for in Bellevue (bellevue nebraska ward 1) brings up nothing for poor socialist Steve Dawes on the first page, but, oh wait, he gets his first mention on the second page:

Steve Dawes, Socialist candidate for Bellevue City Council in the 1st Ward (Olde Town), with a disquieting fetish for high-school girls bouncing around in shorts, is literally clueless.
The Council voted against spending $200,000 of Bellevue taxpayer money to subsidize the buyout of out-of-town properties damaged in last year's flooding. The local paper estimated the cost of buying the property at "up to $230,000", which Steve stupidly interpreted as a $30,000 cost to the City, instead of being a $200,000 loss.
Never mind that the city would assume responsibility for cleanup and maintenance of property in a flood-prone area, outside the city limits. The City has no financial obligation toward the out-of-town property owners; none whatsoever. Steve, spending one red cent of your neighbors' money on that property would have been fiscal malfeasance. The proper venue for such a subsidy would be the Sarpy County Board of Commissioners, who apparently didn't think buying flooded homes and yards to be a good investment, either.
So, Steve, do tell: Since the present City Council showed great fiscal restraint by not buying your pig in a poke, why do you think that is the issue that will sweep you into office?
-
Why would the big guy be wasting the primitives' money on 10,000 flyers?
His ward has 10,000 inhabitants, period.
Which includes children under the age of 18, the incompetents, transients, and those not interested in voting.
-

Not being involved in politics except for voting, I have a question. I can understand yard signs, because they increase name recognition. I can understand radio and TV ads, because they sometimes leave lasting impressions. But, in the history of American politics, has anyone ever read a flyer? Names on matchbooks, nail files, butane lighters, and golf tees get noticed. Flyers are litter.
-
Flyer's are great. They piss off the driver of the car you leave it on so they toss it away thus adding to the already overburdening of the Earths fragile eco system and you can bet they will forget Steve's name was ever on it.

I hope socialist Steve Dawes bought carbon offset credits for all that paper he wasted.

I always toss flyers onto the ground, so they piss off both me and whoever has to clean them up.
So with ten thousand flyers, Socialist Steve could potentially piss off twenty thousand voters.
That's pretty impressive when you consider the Weeper's repuke opponent won the Ward 1 seat in 2008 with a grand total of 357 votes.
He's campaigning to get fewer votes than a lot of high school prom queens.
Sorry, Socialist Steve, didn't mean to bring the high school girls into this thread.
-
I hope he's not shaking hands.
I work at the largest and oldest waste water plant in the entire State of Nebraska. A comparison in the state will be against smaller and newer plants. Many don't even require 24 hour staffing like mine. The R conservatives (tea party-Koch) continue to steam roll workers. The Koch's play in oil, I play in poopie water in a plant that needs 100's of millions in updates to pass the clean water act. System wide Omaha will spend 1.5 billion with a b on waste water upgrades over 15 years. Most of this will make it easier to work AFTER I get my reduced retirement. There goes 13+ years times 10% of my income.
IF you didn't know a 10 cent per roll tax on toilet paper has been suggested for the entire US to help aging plants like mine to help pay the cost of the unfunded mandate upgrades.

Door to door yesterday was interrupted by Olde Towne merchants asking for my materials.
Zero bongs, Socialist Steve's bouncy doesn't start with so, no cops, bushes, conversion(s), or applause.
Is this the type of work ethic (yes, I know I used the words work and ethic in a Social Steve post, ironic isn't it?) that all socialist exhibit?
His bouncy is so weak as to make Plagiarizing Pam's bouncies read like literary works of art.

His opponents know it's bullshit, and at the end of voting day when the City Clerk reads the results - that's all that matters.
He wants the money from the misfits to keep coming though, cause he won't get one hard earned dime from the locals and we all know it.
Keep kicking your threads big guy. That's the only work you are capable of doing. It would have taken you 20 minutes tops to provide materials to the merchants. We know you did shit yesterday, and we know you have exactly zero campaign helpers to assist you.

I can't imagine living in a neighborhood infested with democrats.
I haven't spent any time in a democrat neighborhood since I was a child, but I see them all the time when I watch "Cops".
I've never even developed the habit of locking doors at night.

I can imagine what the locals think when they pick up one of Steve's fliers from the counter in one of five establishments.
They would read it, shake their head then wad up the flier and throw it away.
Steve has not laid out any "Plank" (Hi Pam). The only info on the flier would be:
"I'm Steve Dawes. I'm a socialist. My interests are ogling the girls high school basketball team, working to get the muslim re elected and posting on an internet forum that has advocated to murder of a sitting US President.
Won't you support me in these endeavors with your vote.

This is true. I take a quick glance at who put their dirty little fingers on my car and vow not to do business with them, right after I throw the flyer on the ground.

The problem with that is Steve Dawes must conceal himself from the voters. If they learn anything at all about him, he'll lose in a monumental landslide.
His flyers can only say: "I'm Steve Dawes. Donations accepted."
That's pretty much all he's got on his pitiful web site.
-
It should tell you plenty about OmahaSteve when he hasn't mention what he has financially put into his campain but he will tell you who outside of Nebraska has state by state. Then he will tell you that instead of puttting out his stand on issues he's going to have pamphlets made up to leave at local businesses and then the 2 second spot on a Bob Kerry ad that no one outside of DU knows about except us and he can't even get that right. Yep this will be epic in it's failure.
