Missouri mother attacks son's alleged heroin supplier with a bat
HILLSBORO, Mo. | A Missouri mother is facing charges, but drawing sympathy, for attacking with a baseball bat a man she believed was supplying her teenage son with heroin.

Gavan told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she tried everything to protect her son, Clayton, confiscating his cellphone, drug testing him frequently, even sending him to live with relatives and attend a different high school. When those efforts failed, she drove to the home of 21-year-old Joshua Loyd, whom she believed supplied the drugs, and struck him with an aluminum bat.
"I don't know if I can say that what I did was right," she said. "But it was the only thing I could do in the moment."
A Facebook support page, "Stand with Sherrie Gavan," sprang up anonymously and has generated nearly 350 "likes." Several people held signs outside the Jefferson County courtroom on Monday in support of Gavan.

1. Setting him up for a sting would have been better
But now she gets probation and the dealer gets a settlement...
Think before you....

2. Why not call the cops? nt
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe the pusher is not an unknown quantity to the local authorities.

"Hello, officer, this guy has been selling my son heroin." Yeah that'll work!

I was surprised, in reading through this thread at the DUmp, there was no reply from the DUmp's most outspoken intravenous drug addict, DUmmy Taverner.
Normally, he'd chime in with a comment about how the press only highlights the negatives when it comes to heroin.
Maybe there was a panic in needle park, and Taverner was a victim.
Well, one can hope, right?

Jury nullification, if the facts support it.

No, now the pusher will be "thinking", the next time he sees Mom, and she's not carrying a bat...
If he has brain cell one in his empty melon, he'll be thinking of a "career change".

The guy is lucky that Mom only took a bat to his ass.
The cops might find a drug deal gone bad next time. Just sayin.

Instead of a Mom gone bad on a drug dealer? :lmao:

Good for her. She reminds me of the neighbors I had when growing up. Mostly immigrants and they weren't afraid to stand up to the bad guys.
