Oh my.

From the old DU, which is steadily sinking; even the brain-damaged primitive shows up less and less.

Dems (House & Senate Candidates) told not to expect Obama money/ The Hill

Top officials from the Democratic National Committee and President Obama's reelection campaign have warned the party's House and Senate committees not to expect any financial help this year, a Democratic source confirmed Monday.

Obama campaign staffers Jim Messina and David Plouffe told House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that no cash transfers to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee or Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will take place ahead of the election in November.

But Obama and other White House officials will still appear at fundraisers for those committees on a limited basis. The decision to make clear ahead of time that its House and Senate committees are on their own financially reflects a realization that Obama's reelection efforts will require everything the campaign can raise — even with Obama's decision in February to give his blessing to a super-PAC that could alleviate some of the ad-buying pressure on his official campaign.

It also suggests that despite Democrats' perilous control over the Senate and aspirations to regain control of the House, reelecting the Democratic president will remain the party's top priority.

1. Explain this to me,

Does this free up the DNC to support ONLY local and state races?

2. Obama is the head of the Party and therefore the boss of the DNC.

How the DNC spends its funds is up to him.

I give money only to specific candidates that I wish to support financially. I recommend to everyone that they do the same, unless they don't especially care where their donations go.

3. There is really nobody I'm excited about.

I gave John Edwards way too much money and look what happened. And it's just impossible to give to Obama knowing that he thinks that he understands Central Florida's problems when the only face he sees is John Morgan's.

It's the political attorneys who have us in a suffocating situation here in Florida. Lawyers not only encourage fraud and conspiracy through their pseudo legal interpretations, but frighten the shit out of us, for those who are on to their game.

It's very depressing.

Yep, it looks like the Magic One's pulling a Nixon.

Nixon in 1972 kept all the money for his own campaign.

And thus won in a landslide with no coat-tails, no coat-tails at all.

There is but one god, Obama is his name and the DNC is his gang.

Uh huh, that's what happened to Nixon, and Nixon in 1972 was in damned better shape to be re-elected than the Magic One is.

Spent too much money--which he didn't need to spend anyway--on his own campaign, and hauled in only a couple of (R) congressmen.  A mighty short coat-tail; usually coat-tails are much longer.

Psssst... Primitives...

If Obama is putting all of the DNC funds into his own campaign, what do you think his internal polling says about his reelection chances ?

Just wondering.

Love, miskie.

You know, there was a time when Democrats--this was before the primitives--used to whine about how much money was raised for political campaigns; in fact, it was the Democrats who pushed for laws providing public funding of campaigns.

This used to be a real big issue, back in the good old days pre-Clinton, pre-primitive.

I was sorely surprised in 2008, to see primitives actually boasting about the billions the Magic One was raising.

Well, maybe not really surprised, but it struck me as odd.

I am sure his phone banks in Gaza will send tens of thousands of $59 donations to his campaign, just like last time. "Rafah, Ga." was a lucrative site for donations in 2008. And it ain't in Georgia.

Well, it makes sense - between this announcement and OFA's attempt to make the election about Obama vs. Sarah Palin again, it seems to me that Team Obama wants to party like its 2008.

If I was a liberal, I'd be pretty angry with Obama right now. They all feel he is a moderate, and by keeping his 'stash' to himself, he is making the likelihood of any progressive candidate getting into office much, much smaller.

Also, Obama is helping to make certain he is up against a Republican House & Senate - which insures nearly any bill that Democrats want will be heavily curtailed if not outright rejected, whereas a House & Senate with a heavy progressive influence could override a veto from a possible Republican president.

Then there is the Supreme Court question - If Obama is reelected, and he gets another USSC pick or two, they will be vetted heavily by the opposition party- perhaps so heavily that he will have to withdraw nominations for progressives, and field with moderates instead.

In other words, If Obama is sinking, he should use his funds to save everyone he can. Instead, he has chosen to be concerned only about himself and his own legacy. The captain goes down with the ship.

"Himself" has been his only concern since day one.

He and Moochelle haven't been very niggardly when it come to spending for vacations and whitehouse parties. On the contrary, they've acted like a couple of drunken......

Exactly - how very '1%ish' of him - leaving all of the 'lesser' Democrats out in the cold.
