Title: Nads know American poverty

Poverty and propaganda

Here is one that struck me as interesting. We went visiting Guanajuato, where of course there are some beggars.

My niece's comment...there is a lot of poverty in Mexico...(true)

So I pointed out to her that there are counties in the US that clearly compete with Mexican poverty. She argued to the ends of the earth that in the United States this could not be. First she lives a very protected life. Second, we rarely are exposed to it, and beware of the politico who speaks of this. His, or her carreer will be over in short order.

There are days I am tempted to travel to those specific counties in several southern states, or the Rez, and damn it...document it.

Did I mention Imperial County in California?

I dd practice taking documentary pictures of this Mexican poverty, alas they will live in my drive. Or they will until I can use them to compare and contrast...I feel the first step in dealing with it is to openly face it, and not hide our head in collective denial.

Come on Nads, doesn't your niece know who you are?   Didn't you show her your press credentials?

1. Your niece needs to see the poverty...

... and meet poor people in person.

Our mother used to take us into the homes of the poor and meet the people. It taught us about poverty that can be learned no other way.

WTF was she doing in the homes of the poor?    I pray it was as an invited guest, and they considered her to be a friend.   Little did they know Mom was subjecting her children to a social experiment and nothing more.

My mother used to take us into the homes of the poor...... who in the hell even thinks like this even if it was true?   I'll tell you who, a freakin snob that's who.

I've had to make many, many visits on business to the shithole south of the border and over a half-dozen other countries in Central and South America.

I have seen first-hand and close up their filthy, reeking, enormous slums and favelas.

I've never gone there by design, but when you're in these countries you cannot avoid them.

I have no experience in the rural areas, but people there swarm to the urban slums, so conditions must be even worse.

No American, in the history of this country, has ever lived in anything even approaching the misery and deprivation of these hellish places.

Nutcase nadin is more accurate in her description of six feet of hail than in her opinion on degrees of poverty.

Guess who the poor folks in Imperial County CA are, Mexican illegals that's who.  They are still living much better than the poor ****s that have failed to escape the Mexican shithole.

There is no f'n poverty in the states. Poverty is not having the basic necessities. Uncle Sugar has that handled, nail appointments, game systems, and LCD's to boot.

What I find amazing is that a human being disagreed with Nads (her niece) and she was not alerted or placed on an ignore list. Thats the real news here.

Doesn't it just break your heart when some fatass Momma crys, "I can't feed my children." Makes me want to shout, "Well quit eating all the food...fatass."

My mother would have gone hungry to keep us kids fed.

Anyone in this country who cries about how poor they are never saw what REAL poverty looks like.

How many economically deprived American citizens could be fed with all the money going to cat-hole fourth world nations?
UN out of the US, period.  I'm tired of them.

I watched part of ¡Q'Viva! last night.  Let's just say when contestants got their tickets they didn't say no, I want to stay here in abject poverty thank you.

Yes there is still poverty here even after with the war on poverty which has been on going since Landslide Lyndon' s day.

Nutcase nadin is gonna be furious when she comes back from the shithole and finds the whole front page devoted to a stupid, fat disability scammer in Omaha.

I'm pretty sure nadin will think Omaha is one of the Hawaiian Islands.

Aw **** you NadaBrain, anyone who goes hungry in the US is just downright lazy! There are so many charities, and gubmint giveaways, it's damn near impossible to go hungry if one pursues sustenance!

Hell, your messiah is braggin' about how he's expanded the food stamp program! What a ****in' thing to be proud of!!

I don't go to Mehico any more. The place if not downright dangerous, the filth is enough to gag a maggot! Many of the smaller towns have the sewer runnin' right down main street!

It's making the rounds on boards and e-mail with one flaw, the parks service isn't part of the dep't of agriculture, which the food stamp program is, it's part of the dep't of interior. The message is strong though.

Nads can't find any American families living in dumps and digging through trash for food.  She can't find American families that have never had any floor except dirt.  Our church sponsored some kids to go on a mission trip to Mexico, they built a 2-room, cement floor, tin "house" for a family.  The woman of the household was actually sweeping the floor before the walls were built, she was so thrilled to live on something besides dirt.

My dad, before his health deteriorated, used to go on missions to Central America with Country Woods Baptist in Byram to perform dental work. He has TONS of stories of poverty. These DUmbasses haven't a f'n clue. There is no poverty in the US and if there is, it's a minority of people too proud to get on the government tit.

I don't think it's that they are too proud, more like they're too damn lazy! Especially if they have children!

Hell, even if your by yourself, who the hell is too proud to eat?

#1 The 'Rez' is not the United STates. Reservations are their own distinct territory.

#2 There is a huge distinction between American poverty and that of 3rd world countries. Americans have the OPPORTUNITY to get themselves out of poverty. That their pos parents and those surrounding them breed and raise them in a culture to not take advantage of those opportunities does not change the fact it isn't there. Yet the Nads liberal would continue to fee those that breed poverty attitudes by feeding into their greed and subsistence through social programs that encourage them to breed and raise emotionally crippled children who eventually grow up into emotionally crippled adults. The poor in Mexico have to cross a border, illegally in many cases, with threat of death to get the same opportunity. The poor here need only hop on an inner city bus and apply for a pell grant to make something more of themselves then what they were born into.

So tired of liberal bullshit excuses and I can't believe someone like Nads would even try to equivocate poverty in the 3rd world with 'poverty' in the US. There is absolutely no comparison.

I wholeheartedly agree with Nads.

In fact, poverty in the US is so-o-o-o bad there's no point in Mexicans coming here to escape Mexican poverty.

I'm pretty sure things are probably better in Mexico.

All those Mexicans here would probably be better off back home.

Much better.

Yep.

I think I was the one who pointed out that error, but the message from our GOVERNMENT is still one of contradiction.

Problem is, MSB is right while at the same time being sarcastic as hell.  There are hundreds of thousands of Mexicans/etc heading back to their country of origin because the unemployment rates in their nations of origin are so much LOWER than they are here.

How effed up is THAT?

7. UNICEF, Safe Drinking Water:

United States: 100%

Mexico: 88%

Source: http://www.unicef.org/specialsession/about/sgreport-pdf/03_SafeDrinkingWater_D7341Insert_English.pdf

Access to Electricity: http://www.iea.org/weo/electricity.asp

31 million people in Latin America have no access.

I've lived in hell holes with roaches, forest roaches, that could just come in the cracks of my house in deep southern Alabama. But I had air conditioning, clean drinking water, and electricity. And it was subsidized.

I say this coming from a very poor background (bottom 1%, currently in the bottom 30% or something like that).

The nutcase is simply incapable of admitting it when her enormous ass is handed to her:

10. What I am saying is something else

Americans from higher social strata are barely aware this exists in the us. And there are a few counties that are just as bad, with no safe drinking water or electricity..
I mean we can count them with fingers of hands but they do exist.

For water, environmental wackos and anti-fluoride nuts say no one has safe water. But those are wackos and nuts.
Electricity? She's depending on her status as a trained historian.

I heard one, also concerning relationships, that read:  "The grass may be greener on the other side, but you still have to mow it."

When I was growing up back in the 60's, I always heard this shit on the TV about the ghetto, how people born in the ghetto were trapped there.  I thought it was some sort of fenced in area with barbed wire on top and guard towers.

When I got older, I realized they were not trapped there, they were just too damned lazy to leave!

Among being to lazy, they also have it made, food stamps, free this and that. I live in low income housing, it is nice here, but I don't want to live here forever... I am looking into an inexpensive mobile home on the out skirts of Falmouth....Closer to work...
