Oh God, Kansas goes for the Stupid. Santorum is what the repressed idiots in Kansas wants

After listening to speeches by supporters of three presidential candidates, area Republicans began casting votes at Century II in Wichita late this morning.

Voting at the caucuses ended at 1 p.m.

For the first time in recent memory, Kansas occupies a spot on the primary calendar where its Republican votes can significantly influence the presidential nominating battle

2. We can figure those out, but spaces would help.

Uh huh.

Pamela did a lousy copying-and-pasting job, making it difficult for her readers to discern the totals and percentages.

It's as if Pamela doesn't feel any need to make things aesthetic for her readers, as if she doesn't care if they "get" it or not.

For the record, franksolich in pasting this made Pamela's post more readable.

13. I believe this is what you wanted...

Rick Santorum.....7,692.....53%
Mitt Romney........2,460.....17%
Newt Gingrich......2,272.....15.7%
Ron Paul.............1,942.....13.4%
Other....................140.......1%

Yeah, that's what was needed, but Pamela didn't care enough to make the numbers and totals readable.

14. Thanks!!!

If one truly respects one's audience, one doesn't throw slop at them; one tries to make something as easy as possible, for the audience to read.

Pamela doesn't care for her audience.

Pamela doesn't care.

18. I could tell the stupid were in town

we had to watch the roads a lot! They don't know how to drive

Now this is funny.  In driving down Hwy 400 or 75 in Kansas, you will generally find drivers from 2 Kansas counties that can't pass, can't keep an even speed, tailgate, pass on the right, keep the left lane when driving slowly, and forget to signal.  One is Sedgwick County, the county of Wichita, (where Pam lives) and the other is Johnson county, part of Kansas City (I believe proud2B lives there).  It has been my great privilege to see a few of them stopped and ticketed for particularly idiotic driving behavior...especially the one that obviously believed the 2 lane road was ONE-WAY.  He was incredibly lucky, had gotten nearly 2 hours from Wichita without killing anyone.  He was passing people exactly as if on-coming traffic did not exist, without checking, going uphill in no-passing zones, etc.  I can't even count the number of times I've personally seen one of these idiots run someone off the road.  In fact, both 400 and 75 have VERY wide shoulders specifically to save the lives of the decent drivers!!

If you check accident statistics, of course these are the most dangerous counties to drive in, also.  They are all idiots behind the wheel!   :rotf:

Of course, Kansas went for Santorum.  Kansas is full of good, down-to-earth people with a full appreciation for our rights and very little love of big government.  What's the matter with Kansas is that too many leftists have gathered in Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City!!  :-)

I believe a local fellow from here met one of those drivers. 15 years ago he flew into Kansas, rented a car and few minutes later was dead. A driver hit him head on...the other driver was going the wrong way on the interstate.

Unfortunately for drivers in Kansas, once you get outside of the big cities, the place has turned into damn near a retirement community. The only farmers left are the big corporate guys with the big 4 wheel drive tractors pullin' 18 to 20' implements. Hell I think I've seen discs that would go 32'! The little guys couldn't compete with that.

All the youngsters are forced into the big city because of lack of work in the small towns. All that's left is retirees. Trust me, I come from Council Grove and I've seen old codgers in their 90;s still on the road!

It is like you say still a very religious, conservative state once you get off the beaten path.

Once the kids go to the big city, they get indoctrinated into the liberal culture.

Very few farmers manage to keep any of their kids on the farm.  Most end up selling out to a bigger farmer.  Of the farm kids I went to school with, I know of 2 that managed to stay on the farm.  The rest all had to "go to town" to find work.  However, I think it takes more than moving to town to take the farmer out of the kid!!  (It's the next generation that gets sucked into the indoctrination machine.)   :(

This is very true, and doubly important with numbers & financials.  Does your audience glance at your offering and inwardly groan, or read on with interest?  A jumble of sloppy numbers will only cause the eyes to glaze over, and daydreaming to commence.  It's called going the extra mile.

Pamela going for the stupid is like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump going for the rich.

West of JC, work at Ft Riley. I ride down 177 to Cassoday 3-4 times a year.

I was in Manhattan Saturday for Fake Patty's. I got bored, so I rode through the Flint Hills. I rode down 177, then west on 4 to 15, then up through Abilene and home. It was a great afternoon!

Haven't been to Rusty's. I generally go to the coffee places when I'm in Manhattan.

I was at Pat's Blue Ribbon last Saturday afternoon. Sat out back on the deck, had a Guinness and a Rocky Patel Decade 6x60.

She probably meant, courteous drivers who confused the locals by observing the decorum of the road and using signals and obeying stop signs and baffled them.

I am always confused, myself, when the cyclists in our Loving Hippieville actually obey the stop signs. If they aren't rude, they aren't normal, and hence, present the unexpected.

Manhattan--that's supposedly where HHS wants to put the successor to the Plum Island bio-research facility.  Plum Island is off of Long Island, and the only access is by boat.  Manhattan KS . . . not quite as isolated.  Bad news.
