I am so sick of people that think it's ok to work 3 jobs.
I'll leave out the specifics, but basically I have a friend that thinks it's ok for her to work 2 jobs to put herself through school and take care of her kid. She thinks that instead using public assistance people should work three jobs. She (and several on her FB page) doesn't see the big picture. No one should have to work 3 jobs! No one should have to work 2 jobs, go into debt because of student loans to create a better life for their kid. Businesses should pay living wages and instead of raising tuition costs why don't we cut the football coaches salary from 2mil to 1mil? Oh and she thinks that everyone can just go back to school and learn a "trade" so that they don't have to work 3 jobs. Again- back to the student loan and tuition...
I just don't understand this mentality. When are people going to wake up and realize they're getting screwed?!

12. Oh she's not doing anything wrong.
She's a wicked smart, go -getter type of person. But what if she didn't have to work two jobs? What if her special ed job actually paid enough to allow her one job and her tuition was such that she could manage with that one job? It is so ingrained in society today- the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" crap -that we just don't fight the staus quo anyomre...
I wish it were a little more ingrained, I mean a lot more.

That's a perfect example of why they're the dependent class. I know they think that way but it's still stunning to see it in black and white. Not one of them ever considers the confidence & strength we get from doing things ourselves. Sad.

That happens because Government is their god. They can't envision anyone getting anywhere without their god's help, so if Government isn't in the equation as the deity, they can't compute.

DUmmies try this: I worked a job for 3 years where MANY times we worked 12-16 hour days..................for $3.25 hr. I was glad at the time to get the extra money..............you lazy bastards.

My son's girlfriend had three part time jobs while she was going to school.

While I went to college to get my BSME I moved furniture and drafted at an engineering company. During the school year I averaged 25-30 hours a week and in summer or vacations I averaged 50+ hours. Between what I had saved in high school working part time, those jobs, and living on the super cheap I had no student loans. I had a job ready at that same company and within three years was a project engineer. Of course, I didn't get to go on all the trips that other students did or go to all the concerts they did. In general I sacrificed for the future and it paid off too. I bought my first house 3 years after leaving college and was way ahead of my peers. THEN I started going on vacos and living a bit larger than my contemporaries could.
In my senior year we rented a house from this couple that were doing all the work on their rental. The husband gave me some great advice. He said "When you get out of school, live like you are still in school and life will open up to you." He was absolutely correct.

I have had points in my life where I have worked three jobs at one time. For years I would only have one day off a month. It did not bother me so much since I was younger and enjoyed what I was doing for the most part. It looks like I am about to start that cycle again.

Stupid primative has no doubt never attended a university/college.
Course schedules are seldom geared toward normal work hours.
Students are, by need, required to seek employment that fits their particular study schedule.
Suffice it to say, :-) two or three different part-time employers, is pretty much the norm.
Those are the students that grow, and make something of themselves.

I'll be turning 50 this year and I work 2 full time jobs. Makes for long days but very rewarding work and it pays damn well too. Suck on it DUmmies.

If they knew the kind of shit I had to do to get that first $30/hr job, they'd never leave their mother's basements. And I left the $30/hr barrier behind over a decade ago.
It's called SACRIFICE, DUmmies. In over 30 years in the workforce, I've been on unemployment for a whopping two WEEKS. Think about it.

Back when me and "Toots" were first married, she had a miscarriage, it was winter time and Ya just don't work construction in the winter.
We went down to apply for "assistance"! Yeah right! They made me feel like the worst human being on earth and wanted to know everything from my mother's name to the dog's! Made me feel like I couldn't take care of my family!
Well on the way out, I threw all that bitch's papers into her waste basket, and went and loaded frozen foods into box cars for $8/day and "Toots" tended bar! Even though it was hell for her to stand on her feet all day!
Ya couldn't get me to cross the threshold of a welfare office if it meant savin' my life!

The OP reminds me of long ago when I was a lowly Hod Carrier for a union brick layer. We were doing work on a local univeristy, which means that the union rep was wasting his time roaming the site. He had the balls to come to me and tell me to slow down, I was working too hard, making the other union folks look bad. I kindly told him to stick his head where the sun dosent shine and continued to work at my pace. I worked that job for one summer, then learned other jobs to pay for my education.

I see a DUmmie complained about this hard worker taking two jobs away from someone else. It's not like any of the DUmmies are trying hard to get a job anyway. Why does it matter?
I've been thinking about applying at a new Italian pizzeria/restaurant just for weekends. It's a little extra money to help pay down a few bills and add to our savings. I'm not 100% sure about it yet though. Once I am done training, we are able to work OT. So I'll probably just enjoy working 12 hour days for the extra income instead of serving food.

When I was a kid, unless you were rich it was a shameful thing for an able-bodied man not to have a job, and no job was considered beneath oneself if you needed money to live. Doubly so if you had a family to take care of. Somewhere around my late teens, which incidentally was when hippiedom was in full flower, it became first a joke, then almost a badge of honor not to have a job. It's come a full 180 degrees now and people who work unskilled or labor-intensive yet productive jobs are looked upon as suckers by the Left, while squeezing every penny available out of the entitlement system is a worthy goal.
Gee, thanks Liberals, for one more contribution to the decline of Western civilization.

This needs to be stated over and over again! Ever since I was 13 if I didn't find a job. my parents would find me one. Then they'd make me pay rent! Anytime I see these leaches drawin' disability for depression, it's all I can do to not be picked up by my buddies on a homicide warrant!
The other thing that chaps my hide, is most of 'em get handicapped permits, so their lazy asses don't have to walk a coupla extra car lengths! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Dummie... sounds to me like this person is gonna make it. I bet in about 5 yrs she will be making a good salary while you are still mired in the mud of dependency.
As a person that has hired people... I see that on the resume, then grades don't matter too much to me. I'd hire that person over you and any "A" student any day of the week and twice on Sunday! Know why? Cause that person will work harder than anyone else. Do what needs to be done and not complain. I'll take that over your entitled ass and the spoiled "A" students with no work ethic any day.

I've hired and fired a shitload of guys and gals over the years. The feminazis decided women could work construction, doncha know. Very few cut the mustard. Sorry ladies but them is the cold hard facts.
Never once looked to see what their grades were or what kind of degree they held. After two days I guarantee ya, I'll know if you're up to it.
I still hire and fire around here when I need extra help. Like the last guy, he had more excuses than Carter's got pills! He didn't last long. I think he was afraid of gettin' cold, if the truth be known. *****!! Prolly a DemonRat!
