"b-i-itchy " Rush Limbaugh said today
I heard this going to lunch and my jaw actually dropped.
BTW- he lead the show pretending to be reading an offer for a *NEW* video sponsorship - as if he didn't have time to read it before the show started.
His own transcripts doesn't really illustrate how cleverly he thought he could use this word and get away with it. He said "B.I. - itchy". Of course the intent was clear.

Now, the people that run Ashley Madison are out saying they're willing to advertise on our program. There are stories and advertising blogs about this, but we have not accepted it. Right here in the Washington Post. Ms. Petri, I don't know who feeds you your information -- I have a pretty good guess -- but you might want to double-check here because you've written something that's patently false, it's an out-and-out lie complete with your b-i-itchy opinion in it, and it is untrue. We are not running commercials. We wouldn't accept commercials. We have rejected their offers from outfits that do this kind of thing, provide a way for you to cheat on your spouse. We have never knowingly had this company in our program.

Reverend Al just played the clip. Limbaugh said that journalist Alexandra Petri "made up" her story and referred to it as her "B-I-itchy" opinion. The Rev interviewing her right now.

He didn't say that she made it up, he said she had bad information. Whether she made it up herself or media matters made it up, it doesn't matter it was wrong. I can't imagine for a second that Rush would use them as a sponsor. Now if he was a liberal talk show host it would be appropriate.

Yeah...another day, more manufactured outrage, nothing new.
The whole thing is getting as old as the contraception debate.
But that is the MFM, no talking about substantive issues until O has his second term.

He's not stupid or unaware. He calculated this response so the obvious question is: what's his overall strategy?
Methinks Rush is egging them on with a Muhammed Ali-esque strategy of Rope-A-Dope.
Let them keep throwing punches until they exhaust themselves then go on the offense on your own terms.

I don't mind being called a jerk by liberals, since everything in the world is backwards, it means I must be a good person for them to think of me as a jerk. Considering the people who they think are fine, outstanding citizens, Anthony Wiener, Mike Malloy, Bill Maher, etc, I would be worried if they called me a good person.

My piece yesterday stating that AshleyMadison.com and SeekingArrangement.com were the only new companies to be advertised on Rush Limbaugh’s show was wrong. They want to be on his show, but Limbaugh said today that he won’t let them.
Whenever their ads claw their way onto a local radio station carrying Rush, Rush says, he contacts the relevant authorities immediately and has them pried off. To say that these are the companies he keeps would be misleading. They might like to be. But Rush has prevented them.
Still, the whole point of the piece was that the people most eager to be associated with Rush Limbaugh’s show are — well, advertisers seeking jerks. This has not changed.
Look, the longer this goes on, the less it sounds like an apology. And it should be.
Why apologize to someone who can’t stop after saying something is inaccurate and has to go on and on impugning you? (At first, it was about who would buy an ad. But Rush was less concerned with the ad than the ad hominem.)

Which means what exactly? The point in your original article was that Rush hooked up with sleezy companies so he could get new advertisers. I'm pretty sure you were trying to say Rush was desperate and willing to go with questionable advertisers because you were questioning Rush's character. In the beginning of your "apology" you admit the basis of the article was not true, then you basically say but... "it's fake but accurate".
I'm sure there are all kinds of slezzy companies that have tried to advertise with your own liberal gasbags. I wonder what someone could come up with if they checked out every advertiser, in every local market, of every one of your own liberal talk show hosts. Hmmmm, I wonder if anyone is checking on that? Too bad Air America is defunct, it would have been a lot easier finding one.
