Much of the humor I employ, and which the Onion has copied ( :whistling: ) centers on taking a simple point of contention and blowing it out absurdist proportions.
But that's done deliberately.
The morons are actually serious.

Message To Women
Any woman who supports Limbaugh or votes for any Republican is condemning themselves to a life of miserable subservience for themselves and their offspring for a generation. Once the GOP is allowed to pass all the draconian laws they want, it will be very difficult to get those laws changed. The GOP's secret agenda to make women second class slaves is much worse then women are being told. They are so extreme you might as well be in Saudi Arabia.

Yeah, why do we have to pay for those things. Raise taxes on the 1% so we all get free TV and cruises. [/DU mode]

On the one hand they actually believe this, on the other they blame bold, conservative women like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, etc. for half of the ills in the world and want to shut them up. I've yet to hear one conservative man express the same sentiment...even with shrews like Randi Rhodes & Joy Behar. No conservative man has ever tried to shut me up, nor would they (granted when I'm chattering away while my husband is watching yet another rerun of Ultimate Weapons or WPT Poker he probably wishes I would).

Rise Of The GOP Authoritarian Police State
Upon viewing all the GOP initiatives being floated across the country it is obvious what kind of AmeriKKKa we would have with the GOP in charge. It would be the rise of the GOP theocratic corporate police state. They are desperate for power and are even willing to steal the next election to achieve their goals.
Democrats are too cowed at times to effectively resist their draconian efforts. Too many Democrats cave and allow GOP fathered legislation to pass. If anyone thinks that what happened in Germany cannot happen here should think again. We are in the most serious election in the history of the country. Everywhere that the GOP has any control voter suppression and intimidation are rampant. Extreme laws on are in the wings waiting to be passed. Womens rights are being viciously attacked. The level of legislative insanity and absurdity fostered by the GOP erupts daily.
If we are going to have a decent society and even a democracy depends on smashing the GOP to dust. Give them power and we will regret it for generations to come.

November Surprise
Based on a couple of posts on this primary elections where voters who have voted for decades were denied a ballot, I see another voter surprise that we must thwart. In GOP controlled states particularly valid Democratic voters will be scrubbed from the rolls without their knowledge. I fear election fraud on a scale so massive it will make ones head spin.
We already see signs in Colorado that our Secretary of State wants to scrub the rolls of Democrats who have not voted recently. We beat back an attempt to NOT send mail in ballots to thousands of mostly Democratic voters in the last election.
I hope that Democrats take these attempts seriously. The GOP will steal this election every way that they can. They are the enemy of the country and only embrace dictatorship of the GOP.

1. What I Have Said Here
I do believe that what I have said here may very well swing this election to the GOP. They already have laws on the books that will stop 5,000,000 voters from casting a ballot. And there are so many other ways they can take this election.
I live in Colorado and remember the last Bush election. In Denver there were long waits to vote because there were not enough machines in one Democratic area. And I know one poll watcher who saw the GOP flip a precinct and was told to keep quiet.
The problem is that the issue will arise right on election day.

2. Yep. And there WILL be violence.
A lot of people here said they didn't think there would be, but a lot
of people were thinking TP. I think it's going to be the disenfranchised.
If someone told me I couldn't cast a vote because I didn't have "papers, please,"
for the first time in my life, I would likely go ballistic.
I think there are going to be some ugly moments.
Just one woman's opinion.

3. Very Dangerous
Last edited Wed Mar 7, 2012, 06:17 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
I think this election is going to be a very dangerous election. The GOP plans to win by stealing what they cannot honestly compete on honestly. We are dealing with a bunch of dangerous psychopaths. They simply will push people around. Republicans that I am around have the idea that anyone who does not go along with will have to shut up or they will shut you up.
I personally get a lot of hostility where I play golf. It did not use to be that way, but I hear racist bigoted chatter at the public golf course that I have played since 1976. The hostility is so palpable that there are groups I cannot play golf with. And I have been challenged for my politics in very rude ways. There are only a handful of Democrats as far as I know.
I am convinced they will have their little brownshirts out on election day. My sense is that they feel they have won already. I know a lot of Du'ers disagree with me. And I hope they are right. My gut feeling is that there is a lot of trouble on the way.
I personally feel like I am living in the middle of an insane asylum right now. Women need to be particularly alarmed because so much legislation is being passed. And Virginia rape law has just been signed.
And correct me if I am wrong. But these legislators are acting with a smile and a smirk towards women and are saying the F word in the process. In my opinion they have officially declared war on the country and women in particular.
Maybe they just think you're an obnoxious dick and/or crappy golfer.
I'm guessing both.

6. So what am I to fear most?
The 'socialist' nation that people on the left are to stupid to recognize OR the 'fascist' nation that people on the right are too stupid to recognize?
Abortion isn't illegal. Our guns have not been banned. President Bush did not push old people to rot in the streets. President Obama has created a nation of slaves dependent on government to survive.
Face it, the doom and gloom rhetoric has not panned out.

1100 Anti Women Bills Proposed By GOP
Last edited Thu Mar 8, 2012, 01:23 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2)
There are 1100 anti women bills passed or pending in the US that represent the war on women's rights. 98% of the GOP voted against equal pay for women. The GOP and its fundynazi religious allies stopped ERA from being ratified. The GOP in Colorado just killed an anti wage theft bill which would have protected women as well. The GOP continues to add more women hate legislation and dare anyone to appose them. Look at what their Gestapo did to women demonstrators in Virginia. Had they resisted at all they would have been pepper sprayed and beaten.
I am surprised GOP politicians are not literally running for their very lives in this country. Everyone of these politicians is a racist, a bigot and a misogynist. And they are enthusiastically anti women, anti child and anti worker.
