Title: Gun sales boom in expectation of Obama re-election
Post by: mrclose on March 04, 2012, 07:54:58 PM
Time to dig in!
People just don't trust this guy .. Well not true conservatives and believers in the Constitution anyway!  :lmao:

Quote
FORT WORTH, Texas —  Gun sales are booming across Texas, and some buyers say their growing belief that President Barack Obama will inevitably be re-elected is fueling their race to bear more arms.

And sales haven't just risen in Texas. There's been a rush nationwide, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram  reported in Sunday's edition (http://bit.ly/y3YDO6).

The Cheaper than Dirt gun store in Fort Worth set a sales record for February, said store owner DeWayne Irwin, who described the rush as similar to one seen shortly after Obama's 2008 election.

Alan Korwin, author of nine books on gun laws and operator of a gun laws website, said people are worried that Obama's re-election would embolden a major gun control push.

"We saw a fire sale when he was elected last time. But the speculation is that now ... with his need to get re-elected gone, the sky is the limit on attacking the Second Amendment (right to bear arms)."

mrclose, we can't quote articles from the AP. Just a headline or comment for the title and a link to the article is all we do. AP is getting pricky about copyrights.

Not complaining, just advising...

Well Mackelrose, let me be the first to say, good job finding and posting that. I enjoyed it.

Gun sales are already way up.  I saw a report on Fox about it a couple of days ago.

My husband recently visited 2 gun shops in 2 states.  There are waiting lists for certain weapons.

Business is booming.

That's the truth. I've talked to 3 different gun dealers in the last few days and they all say they can't get certain weapons....don't remember which they said was a problem, we talked so much.

We were having a hail storm and extreme lightning storm when I talked to one. He said "???????????(some gun manufacturer) Is well over a 1oo,000 guns behind in orders."

Which means the price of ammo is going through the roof again, and the availability of certain calibers (.45 ACP among them) is going to SUCK yet again.

I remember when a case of .223 Lake City ran less than $300.  As soon as Obumbles took office, it was almost $1000.  It's back down to $400-450, but expect that to jump again.

Probably Ruger.  They've stopped taking new orders until after Memorial Day, IIRC.

It's not like us gun people trust Romney either, though the Manchurian Muslim is the uglier prospect of the two.

Hey, got a phone call from a lady dealer in Arkansas for a gun my husband wanted.  She can't get the whole gun but can get the parts, was he interested.  She told him not to take too long, this particular gun was in great demand.  He picks it up next week.  Must be a secret because all he's told me about it was nothing.  He just smiles.

He got me one a couple of weeks ago. I love it. I can handle the weight, it feels good in my hands, it's easy to load. After reading tonight about robberies in the city proper being way higher than this time last year, it was a good time to purchase. We are living in strange times.  Not a comfortable feeling. Residential burglaries are scary. I fear that the most.

I don't want to have to kill anyone but a nice shot to the family jewels would stop just about any threat.   :-)

It's a girl gun so don't laugh

A gun that you have when you need it and can use well is a million times better than the most elite superweapon in the world that you don't have in your hand when crunch time comes.

Exactly.  A NAA mini-revolver in the hand is worth a lot more than a 1911 in the safe at home.

Nothing wrong with a Smith & Wesson 22A.  Nothing at all.  My cousin just put some money down on an M&P 22.

I bought an H & R 12 gauge shotgun with a 18.5" barrel today. I have not owned a shotgun in many years, and did not realize that ammo was so expensive.

Gun sales boom in expectation of Obama re-election....I'm buying guns and ammo because I don't expect him to be re-elected. His followers will riot, loot, rape, kill and burn if he is not re-elected.

Target-rich environment, unless they stay in the confines of Augusta proper. They come out to Evans, it'll look like the Marianas Turkey Shoot.

People will call me racist for this but they just haven't paid attention or they live where the population isn't large enough to cause a problem.

A single black doesn't worry me much but they are like dogs. A single dog isn't usually a problem but when they get in a pack, they're subject to do anything. Mob rule and all, safety in numbers thing.

That applies to liberals in general, IMHO.

A lot of black conservatives out here that'll be manning the lines with me, Johnny. This is a military city and the military is at least 70% conservative.

While there's no military around here there are a few black conservatives here that will take a stand against their own kind if the cause is right.

You know something, my circle of black friends is getting smaller, mostly due to us getting older and dying. The younger generation of blacks don't like us older whites.

Black conservatives don't look at black liberals as "their kind" anymore than I look at white liberals as "my kind". Conservatives are, by ideology, individualists. That collectivist shit belongs to the left. Worry not, fellow Reb, black conservatives are growing in number. I'm following SEVERAL on FB.

They may be the same race, but they sure aren't the same kind...and there will be no shortage of White trash on the opposite side.

Yes, I have been kindda down on the black race in this thread ...well, because that's what it's been about but you're right. There has been a large increase in the number of "Po white trash" around here in my life time.

The sad part is that a lot of that "Po white trash" has money and should do better but they don't. Seems to make some of them worse.

Pump and the salesman at Academy Sports recommended 00 buckshot. Had no idea all the bullshit paperwork I had to go thru just to buy a shotgun.
