I use photobucket.com for posting images.
Since I'm used to it, and comfortable with it, I'm not inclined to change to another sort of program.
Anyway.
I started using photobucket during the Scamdal, mostly for posting the DUmmie ALERT!s on the DUmmie FUnnies on freerepublic.
In case one doesn't recall, the DUmmie FUnnies covering the Scamdal generated more traffic than all of Skins's island, at least for four days--this, a single thread on freerepublic--meaning a lot, hundreds of thousands, of people were seeing the images I posted, whenever I put up a DUmmie ALERT!.
Towards the end of the Scamdal, suddenly my images were little red "x"s, and I got a message from photobucket saying I'd reached the limit for my account. I was, and still am, using their free account, no premium services for which one pays.
Panicking, I started a second free photobucket account, and all worked well after that, and has worked well since then.
I've been posting a great many images from a third photobucket account on a non-public site, and am worried.
These are important images, even though only probably half a dozen people see them each day.
Each image is about 100-104 mb in size; right now there's about 90 of them, and by the time I get done, there'll probably be about 400 of them.
How does one know when one is reaching the limit on photobucket?

There is a Stats option on the Home tab. Usage is shown on the 'View Account' link.
My free account currently says 10GB/month limit.
-
Okay, I go there.
It currently says "176MB used, 1%, 10GB max".
That's with about 90 images, 100-104 mb each in size.
Is that good?
Sometimes something looks good, but it's not.

That means you have plenty of room left.

Well, now I'm wondering why I have three accounts.
The other two have lots and lots of images, viewable on public message boards (the one in question is a limited audience), and they show 0%, both of them.
One wonders why I reached the maximum limit that one time, during the Scamdal.

I have two accounts also. I got the second one several years ago when I got a notice that I had exceeded my bandwidth. It wasn't long after that though they expanded their amount of free usage. That's why your accounts show more room now.

Do you use any of these, and if so which one?
I'm particularly unsure about sites such as the one you posted. "we definatly recommend"??? No speeeel chekc?
I back up my files to a separate, portable hard disk whenever I do anything important, and to my laptop and my wife's laptop once a week.

I use just cloud, the first one on the list. I bounce around from various others cking them out usually the freeebie ones because I'm tightwad. The cloud is handy because it's available anywhere their is internet access which nowadays is pretty much anywhere with wireless internet. No virus worries, no chance of accidental deletion, auto backup , auto syncronization between multiple computers if so desired. no losing or misplacing USB drives or external hard drives.
you are already using cloud of sorts if you are on the internet, just another aspect of evolving technology.

OK, thanks for the comeback.
