Cave dwellers made fun of my fund raiser in a bar! Guess what????
Republican incumbent in my ward (I) didn't have a fund raiser in Bear's Bar four years ago. He now wants to have one there too. Wonder what the dwellers think of that?

As moderator, I read everything that's posted, every word, every comma.
While it's been mentioned that the big guy's fund-raiser is going to be held in a bar, I don't recall a single negative comment here about it being in a bar. Lots of fund-raisers are held in bars.
The big guy's making it up, claiming to have read something here that was never here.
Ho-hum.

I've seen plenty of fundraisers in bars, but few political ones.
Most serious people don't like alienating a large portion of their customer base. About the only "safe" place to hold a political fundraiser in a bar is in a location where the vast majority of voters are the same party as the candidate, like Nancy Pelosi holding one in SF.
Bellvue? Yeah, I'm guessing it wasn't a huge deal. Saturday afternoons are bad enough as it is, and if you turn off the sports to hear some guy with a bird's nest on his face spout off about how wonderful it would be if we were all socialists, I'd be taking my business elsewhere. Then again, I wouldn't be real thrilled if they turned off the sports/music/whatever to hear conservatives blather on about their platform.

Well, of course in a red city densely populated with military personnel, retired and current, it's hardly likely to be positive.
But the election's not until November, a long time away yet.
Sooner or later, the big guy'll spill the beans, and if he forgets, someone else will.

Because of shifts in population, this year the state legislature had to re-draw the three congressional districts in Nebraska.
It needs noted that parts of Bellevue were detached from the Omaha congressional seat and patched on to the Lincoln congressional seat, so as to make the capital city's district darker pink, almost red.
That should tell one much about the political coloring of Bellevue.
And oddly, the change also turned the Omaha district from light pink to medium pink, with the addition of some rural areas to the Omaha district.
It was a stroke of sheer genius, the way that worked out.

Well, give him a chance first, to get up on the soapbox and tell the voters of Bellevue, as he's already told the primitives on Skins's island, that he's enthusiastic about socialism, believes in abortion, opposes the Second Amendment, favors higher taxes, supports more governmental regulation, feels no particular gratitude towards the military, and wants more and stronger public-sector unions.
If the big guy tells that to the voters of Bellevue, he'll get no trouble from us, as he's being honest.
But if he speaks with a forked tongue, well.....somebody has to do something about it.
It's the American way, very patriotic, and moral and ethical, to do that.
But thus far, the big guy's said nothing, really. In that newspaper article, he just mimicked what the other candidates said, bland platitudes. It's as if franksolich were running for office saying things like "Yeah, I think spring is one of the finest seasons of the year" or "Sure, I like the color brown too" or "Uh huh, I too enjoy the fact that the sun is round."

It would be nice for Socialist Steve too own up to his written word, however that would require Socialist Steve to have morals and behave in an ethical manner.

A lot of his platform was blather, bumper sticker slogans, and platitudes. But he did campaign on tax cuts, and improving the economy, lowering unemployment, being transparent, and many other conservative positions. He also promised fundamental change, bringing America together, and other promises. He didn't say what kind of fundamental change, or what king of togetherness. But remember, all those conservative sounding platform promises were scripted, and teleprompted. When you caught him speaking extemporaneously, he would revert back to his radical socialist roots.
