Rush Limbaugh will not be pulled or cancelled

Rush and Clear Channel struck an 8 year $400 million contract back in 2008. If they pull him they'd still have to pay him for 4 years. This is by far Clear Channel radio's largest paid entertainer. They'd not only have the revenue loss from his show, but theyd have to try to quickly find an alternate host and also pay them.

However this could be a huge albatross for Clear Channel. They will need to continue paying Rush, of course, and if the advertisers continue to cancel then the revenue coming in doesn't pay his salary. He becomes a huge burden on their P&L sheets. In addition, local radio stations must pay a fee to carry his broadcasts. He has somewhere around 600 radio stations that carry his program. Let's say just 25 drop his program. At $25,000 per station, that would be an additional loss of $625,000 in revenue each year for Clear Channel.

How to really hit the Clear Channel network? 1. Target the major network advertisers. Those are the big boys in radio ad spending. 2. Target the local advertisers in yoru local market. It may take a few times tuning in the show but write and call those advertisers. They are usually easier to target. 3. Write the local GMs and tell them you are writing letters to the sponsors and the FCC. (Really the FCC won't do anything but if the station's license is up for renewal you can make their life a pain in the ass for awhile.)

Guess what DUmmies, Rush will be on the radio until the day he decides to go, none of your petty efforts have got him thrown off the radio yet, and they won't in the future either. Suck it DUmmies, free speech is still the law of the land.

economic crisis this country has seen since the great Depression. Americans are under enough stress. He needs to go.

Hey ****wad, a lot of us stressed Americans enjoy having him and his point of view on the radio. We don't whine and cry that liberals have radio and tee vee shows, we set the dial to what we want to listen too. It's called being an adult.

Rush seems to do something every few months to piss off the left and cause them to start a boycott .  A few advertisers may drop his show, but most don't because they know his audience has and spends money.  After a while , the left will find something new and shiny to be outraged about and Rush will get more advertisers and keep making money.

It got Glenn Beck off Fox. It is SOP for the Left. Just the hint of boycotts and bad press will send companies running.

Protests didn't Glenn Beck off Fox.  He was going in a different direction and started losing viewers.

There were myriad reasons Beck left FOX. It had nothing to do with boycotts. For every person that says they're going to boycott (how many of them actually boycott Walmart regardless of what they say) there will be 10 more who will buy from them.

Rush has been on the radio for about 25 years, if they haven't gotten him thrown off by now, it aint gonna happen. Advertisers know that a conservative audience usually has some spending cash, so when they advertise they will generate business. A few moonbats who can't afford what they are selling anyway, won't stop them.

Rush knows how and when to fight.

I love how every time he says something, they think they finally got him. The reality is he knows exactly what he is doing when he says something, and he sits back and laughs at the liberal heads exploding.

also one of the reporters on the town newspaper came to deliver papers at a store,i stopped him and asked if he knew how stupid it made him look to listen to that liar,he turned beet red and scurried off.--not alot, but i enjoyed it.

That's funny. Remember when Rush was on TV? Well a liberal stood up in a restaurant I ate at and loudly complained...for aaaaaaawhile. He was asked to leave and barred from returning. He left screaming how he was going to ruin their business, shut them down, blah-blah-blah. After a few days, you had to stand in line to get in the place...had to change my lunchtime so I could get in and out because of that loudmouth....me and couple more stopped doing business with the place where he worked. Just didn't want to have to ever see him again.

Cause they are dummies!!!!  Dummies are born to hate. If there is nothing to hate, they will find something. If it wasn't Rush, it would be something/someone else.

Because it doesn't fit with their leftist views.  Rush disturbs the lemming mentality.

None of them think that his apology is sincere. The believe that it's nothing but a ruse to calm the savage beast.

Uh speakin' of who needs to go. What should we do with the asshole who put us in this situation? You want to give Rush hell solely because you don't agree with him. Your Messiah has drove our whole economy into the damned ditch! Just what do ya 'spose we oughta do with him?

Yep! I think when he started bringin' in too much religion, it turned a lot of people off. Most people like their religion in church, not on Fox News. I know that's when I started losing interest.

Liberals cannot tolerate dissenting opinions. They are against all the freedoms expressed in the constitution, most specifically, free speech (the right to verbally disagree with the liberal agenda), and freedom of the citizen to own guns (the right to resist the liberal imposed tyranny).

If Rush were a libertarian, or a green party member who could never gather the votes to threaten liberal rule, then they would not care what he said. But because he's associated with a party that can vote out the democrats then he is evil and must be silenced.

Gee, I thought that the worst economy since FDR's Great Depression occurred in 1992 and 2004. Or were the DemonRats lying then?

It's not the religion so much as the angst. The world, according to Glenn Beck, was going to hell unless you bought gold, built an underground shelter and bought a supply of food from his sponsors. If I wanted emo I'd listen to My Chemical Romance or Alkaline Trio day in and day out.

How bad has the democrats (since 2007) and Obama done.......

1-The housing industry crashed and homeowners were bailed out..=..gov. subsidy.

2-The auto industry crashed and were bailed out..=..gov. subsidy.

3-Banks faced crashing and were bailed out..=..gov.subsidy.

4-Wall Street was bailed out..=..gov. subsidy.

5-Umemployment extended several times..=..gov. subsidy.

6-Foodstamp usage increased..=..gov. subsidy.

Now Obama caused inflation has driven the cost of sex to the point it has to have a government subsidy.... :mental:

The NBC Nightly Spews for Saturday said Rush issued an apology because "advertisers were pulling their ads from his show."

Local advertisers, perhaps, but what national advertisers pulled or threatened to pull their ads?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Beck left to develop his own brand where he has complete control.   Fox didn't not want him to leave.

Rush is laughing all the way to the bank - every time they put his name in the spotlight like this, all he sees is $$ as the misfits are admitting how powerful he is.

Delicious actually.

When you testify before a Congressional committee that "female students are having so much sex, they are going broke buying contraceptives, as much as $3,000 over 3 years", just what the hell are we supposed to think?

At $1/condom, a co-ed could have sex 4 times/day, 5 days/week, on $1,000/year.

Or, alternately, three times a day, seven days a week.
