Title: Ask Omaha Steve a Question. You're the Press. Help Steve Get Elected.
Post by: Mr Mannn on March 01, 2012, 06:43:27 PM
The guy is in his first election. He needs help. We know he lurks here allah time. Lets give him some much needed practice with the press. Some questions will be adversarial, yes, but that is the nature of the press. All politicians need to be press savvy.

Steve. Unions. How will being a union guy help you lead Bellevue. Will you push for compulsory union membership? Will you seek only to contract out to Union shops? What if a non-union shop is cheaper and just as good? As steward of taxpayer funds will you go for the cheaper non-union shops?

See Steve. That wasn't so hard. You can start a similar thread in DU and get a more friendly audience...BUT.
If you want a few harder hitting questions, come back here.

Go ahead and ask away. Put your question in italics & Bold, so its easier for Steve to see them.

If an occupy movement parks its but in a Bellvue city park...will you welcome them? How will you handle the inevitable occupier drug use and pooping in the city streets that will result? as city councilman that will become YOUR personal problem.

hey Steve, do ya 'spose you'll be able to balance the budget every year in Bellevue, or will you follow most Democrats and overspend the peoples money?

Inquiring minds want to know. After all isn't that what Socialism, of which you advocate, is all about. Spending other peoples money until there's nothing but deficits as far as we can see!

Mr. Dawes, I've noticed that Bellevue city council meeting begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and an Invocation.  As an avowed socialist will you abstain from partaking in these displays of public faith?  :fuelfire:

Mr. Dawes,

Who has been more inspirational to you, Karl Marx or Mao Tse-Tung?

Which Bellevue citizens would you deprive of their money and property "according to their ability", in order to reward your supporters "according to their need"?

When you kissed Cindy Sheehan, did her mouth taste like Hugo Chavez' cock?   How did you know?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Mr. Dawes, you like model railways.

Do you prefer Lionel gauge, HO gauge, or N gauge?

Don't know about Stevie, but all my stuff is HO.

Been thinkin' 'bout N gauge though since it takes up less room and you can get more in a smaller space.

But that would mean I'd have to start from scratch. Guess I'll just stick with my HO for now. Have too much invested in buildings and locomotives to make an abrupt change.

Maybe if I collect a little at a time I can pull it off. I'm sure my grandkids won't let the HO stuff gather any dust!

Uh, Steve?  Did you find it personally satisfying to yell at a Toyota salesman?  Or were you just, "speaking truth to power" in that case?

Also, will you be publicly soliciting funds to travel to college football games, or simply embezzling them from the public coffers, and when you do that, will you be sleeping on someone's floor, or putting yourself up at the finest establishments one can find on the taxpayer dime?

OS, will you accuse a citizen in your district of stalking should they call on you more than once during your term ?

Will your union duties interfere with your council duties should you actually win ?  If not, can you honestly say the people you may represent will come before any and all union business ? I ask because you seem to eat, sleep and talk nothing but union. People like loyalty but not a butt kisser.

Will you give city contracts to your union buddies ?

You do realize your phone number has to be public should you win. Will your paranoia keep you from making it public ?

If you'd take advice from a nasty crazy bitch like Grasswire, can you be right in the head ? What can you tell the people to ease their minds from thinking you're not nutty like that ? Do you own a red wagon with apples in it ?

Would you be willing to shave that bird nest on your face ?  I don't think I can take you seriously with all that hair going on.

How much does a city councilman make in Bellevue ?

Steve,
Given your support for unions and socialists, whose interests will you be looking out for if you get elected, the taxpayers or the city's union employees?

Steve,
Given your support for unions and socialists, if an OWS group shows up in your city and decides to squat somewhere and protest for a month, whose interests will you be looking out for, the smelly, jobless hippies or the union thug Police?

Steve,
Given your support for unions and socialists how come you are running as a Democrat(ic) and not a Socialist?

In the basement of one of the buildings of Renselaer Polytechnic Institute, referred to as RPI, is a rather large (several rooms) HO-gauge "train set."  I went to see it about 13 or so years ago.  The detail in the "set" is unreal.

Also, west of Allentown PA is Roadside America (I think it's till there).  It is a huge O-gauge "set" that's easily many tens of thousands of square feet.  It's a tourist attraction.

Steve isn't. :loser:

This isn't so much a question, as it is a suggestion, but it looks like The Weeper has decided to continue the DUmp tradition of screwing up compound words, right on his campaign page:

Now, I admit, it really isn't all that funny, so I'm posting here in hopes that The Weeper sees my message, and either updates his grammatical error, or changes it into something worth poking fun at.

To help him out, I've been thoughtful enough to dig up an example for the big guy, to show him you can not only be hilarious with your mistakes, but at the same time tip the cards of your party's platform.  This example is courtesy of a local democrat representative that served in the Missouri House until 2010, that I found on his issues page:

Mr. Dawes, what is your plan to buy every homeless person in Omaha a Buick? Are you going to demand the taxpayers foot the bill or are you going to live up to alleged liberal compassion for everyone and pay for it out of your own pocket?

Yeah, one of my favs, Only problem I have, is it's on PBS here, and I think them people are leaches, pure and simple! If you have to have taxpayer money in order to survive, perhaps your business is not what it should be!

The DIY net has a pretty good one, too. Not many episodes, but you can watch them online. Real good for beginners!

We have a swap meet every year at the Spokane fairgrounds where everyone can show off their stuff. I think it's in July, I'm not sure. I just always wait until I read it in the paper.

I'll try and take some pics this year and post them in the Lounge.

(edited to add)

I have satellite TV and get "RFDTV". They have an exceptional program, "I Love Toy Trains". They also have one that has vintage train video that is great for gettin' a feel of the layout of Steamers.

My Grandpa used to shovel coal in the old "Iron Horses". He worked for Missouri Pacific for 35 years!

That's what I have based everything I have on. Just need a place to put it! Been thinkin' about a loft in the small barn, where no one can **** with me or my trains. Maybe this year!

Sounds like we have quite a few members with interest in toy trains. Maybe we ought to start a forum for it.

I truly do not know how one can do that. Especially in Nebraska, clearly a conservative state.

What ya gonna do when yer opponent starts postin' yer crap from the DUmp?

I think yer ****ed my man! Once the good people of Bellevue see who you hang out with, I think yer ****ed!

I guess I would say to the big guy, if I were a resident of Bellevue, "Hey, you've lived here what?  Two years?  Three years?  What makes you think you've been around long enough to know what Bellevue needs, what Bellevue wants?  And how come you moved out of your blue paradise to a red Hell?  What's up with that?"

I think a point needs made about carpetbaggery.

My question for Steve Dawes, self confessed socialist, would be...Why do you hate the less privliged workers of the good town of Bellevue.

You say that you would drive past a Walmart and shop somewhere else because it is a non-union shop.

Don't you care about the 99% type folkes that work at Walmart even though Walmart did its job and was competative enough to win.

That seems like the way it is supposed to work, after all most of those folkes need a job to.

Please correct me if Im wrong Steve Dawes, self confessed socialist.
