Author, acting coach, film and TV star David Macklin: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0533626/

Since it will be on the financial report for Jan-Mar, I thought I'd give the DU a heads up.

No primitives have seen this campfire yet.

I noticed that yesterday.  He has a curious definition of "celebrity"... I think Billy Mumy is more well-known than that guy.

Who's the DUmmy who spends all his money on autographs and other memorabilia from never-been celebs?

Uh huh.

And gets his photograph, while working as a tuxedo'd security guard, taken with some obscure blonde?

To be fair the blonde in the picture is the daughter of William Holden. As to his celebrity donor, I doubt anyone would know who it is without an IMDB search.

Indeed, we are being fair to the big guy, complimenting him on his good points and chastising him for his bad points.

I believe even his most ardent supporter, the forensic editress the fecund grasswire primitive, must certainly agree we're being very fair to the big guy.

I figured she was some television celebrity--remember, I don't do, and never have done, television, so it's terra incognita to me, television celebrities--maybe Debbie Reynolds.  That was honest ignorance on my part.

I see that the big guy and franksolich have something in common; we both like model railways.  I don't have any such set-up myself, but I always enjoyed the HO gauge trains.  When a kid, though, I used to have a full model of the Union Pacific's City of Portland and ran it on two 4'x8' sheets of plywood.  I wonder if Chief Big Bawly is a fan of H gauge (Lionel) or HO gauge or N gauge.

Wow! David Macklin! His best-known role was "Second Saloon Card Player" in episode 017 of "F Troop".

The guy isn't exactly John Wayne, but that's the kind of celeb the Weeper pays for autographs.

It's like wanting an autograph from Norman Rockwell, but buying one from Rob McGrath.

Brush with greatness!  Here are the first few lines of his CV:

Quote
2008 In Plain Sight (TV series)
Homeless Guy
– Stan by Me (2008) … Homeless Guy

1980 The Silent Lovers (TV movie)
1st AD (uncredited)

 1976 Midway
Lt. Jack Reid (uncredited)

1976 The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case (TV movie)
William

 1975 Barbary Coast (TV series)
Philip Van Cleve
– Funny Money (1975) … Philip Van Cleve

 1974 Medical Center (TV series)

  After a 28 year dry spell, he got to play a homeless guy.   :lmao:  No wonder he donated to The Socialist.  He was probably so flattered to be asked for an autograph, he became addled.

Isn't it disgraceful that those Hollywood types just cast a character as "homeless guy?"  Where's the humanity?  Shouldn't he have a name?
