Hell, yeah!

I've actually been putting in some LED bulbs lately...about as expensive as CFL bulbs were when they first came out, but not toxic and don't fail like the CFLs.  I have not been impressed at all by the supposed long life of CFLs, they seem to average only about twice as long as a quality incandescent on the average (Meaning half of them don't last that long at all).

I thought the CFL mandate had been done away with during the last session of Congress.  It was added to some budget or appropriations bill.

Hate those damn things.  They don't last long at all.

Don't get me started on those CFLs!!!

In the last session, they made it so nobody could enforce the ban, so the incandescents are basically good to go.  Man, do I have a collection!  I went round and round with my D congresscritter about these things, he probably think I'm a nut, I told him he lost my vote over this issue.   Aside from hating the physical CFL contraption, I hated the government overreach and intrusion.

LED Bulbs won't catch on much when 100w replacement runs about $50

Maybe in about 10 yrs when folks who did venture the switch start replacing them as claimed lifespan.

Possibly sooner if energy savings claims are true.

He might just be a conservative from one of his responses to a poster:

Quote
@icbmman Just a lesson to the rest of us, brother. Anytime someone forces you to buy something - whether as spurious as a light bulb or as important as healthcare - be highly suspicious.

Thanks for serving!

I love my LED's.

The only thing I would consider putting LEDs in is my car but I've heard they're not very good if you need refracted lighting (turn signals).  They're fine for directional lighting like brake lights.

We have several LED bulbs in the kitchen, love 'em, but at $17 a pop we are going one room at a time.  We did switch to all CFL a few years ago (the more advanced enclosed ones) and the energy savings was immediate and noticeable.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat.  I replaced my bathrooms first with the LEDs.  Keep your eyes peeled when you go to Sams, usually I can find a good deal.  I noticed a savings with the CFLs too.  I don't have enough LEDs to see any difference yet, but I like their durability and light better.

The LED's light is so much better.

CFLs are much like other green energy ideas. They seem bright and full of promise, but don't live up to the hype. They don't stay as bright as they were when they were new.  So instead of burning out like incandescent bulbs, CFLs fail slowly, so that they get replaced before burning out all the way.

I got tripped up into buying some cfl's. But now I am leaning towards LED. The trend in the corporate aircraft manufacturing industry is going towards all LED.
