One student was killed and five were wounded during a shooting early Monday at an Ohio high school, authorities said. A suspect, whose name has not been released, is in police custody.

Civil deputy Erin Knife with the Geauga County Sheriff's Office said the shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. Monday at Chardon High School.

The suspected gunman, believed to be a student, fled the school on foot and was later apprehended after turning himself in. Authorities have not released the juvenile's name because he has not been charged yet.

Law enforcement officials said earlier that three of the shooting victims are in critical condition, while one victim is in stable condition. The victims have not yet been identified.

The situation is under control and an FBI SWAT team is on the scene, police said.

I know the Chardon area fairly well, after having lived in the Mentor area from 2004-2007. Chardon is the county seat of Geauga County. Chardon itself is a small town of maybe 6,000 or so.

Condolences to the victim's family and prayers for complete recovery of the others.

Dear leader and his minions will use this incident to come after legally owned weapons so that they are the only armed faction.

And there were fewer gun control laws back then, but much more common sense.

5 students shot, 2 killed during Chardon H.S. shooting rampage
http://www.woio.com/story/17024182/chardon-high-school-shooting-rampage

Two people are now dead.

I have read about the shooter and it appears he is more likely a bully. So chances are if he was bullied, it was because he was the bully.

Earlier this morning, Yahoo reported a victim as being brain dead in a headline -- but examination of the article indicates it's the same victim who had died.

The Yahoo article said that the shooter had gone goth a year or so ago and stopped talking to most people. Then a month or so ago he posted a comment on his Facebook page saying, "He longed for only one thing, the world to bow at his feet," and ended with, "Die, all of you."

Another senseless crime perpetrated by a so-called "troubled" youth whose biggest problem was trying to figure out with which hand to hold his pecker while he took a leak.

Just saw it reported that the creep who did this admits he stole his uncle's handgun.

This is the price we pay for a generation of kids being raised completely hands off without regularly interacting with their parents. Too many parents don't talk to their kids anymore, they text, they email, they don't have a *$%#ing clue who their kids are anymore.

And yet the judge in the case is all about protecting the "yute" in this case.

All I can say for his protection is that I hope he gets a sterile needle.

A sterile needle at a lethal injection.

T.J. Lane sentenced to life in prison in Chardon High School shootings
http://www.cleveland.com/chardon-shooting/index.ssf/2013/03/tj_lane_sentenced_in_chardon_h.html

Quote
CHARDON, Ohio -- T.J. Lane will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing three students and wounding three others in the Chardon High School cafeteria Feb. 27, 2012.

Before his sentence, Lane, wearing a white T-shirt with the word "killer" written across the front, said: "This hand that pulled the trigger that killed your sons now masturbates to the memory. F--- all of you."

Gasps were heard around the courtroom at that point and some in the gallery began to cry.

I know this is from earlier this year, but TJ Lane was sentenced to life in prison. Talk about a loser in life.  :mental: :loser:

He was raised in a violent home.  Are these monsters born that way or raised that way?

That's the eternal question, isn't it?

But that question isn't being answered right now. The only question that should be answered is how quickly this monster can be put down. Feeding, clothing, housing, and providing medical and dental care for this monster for the rest of his life is a burden the taxpayers simply shouldn't have.

Some people just need to be put down like the animals they are. No long, drawn-out trials, no endless appeals, no punks sitting in a courtroom flipping a bird to everybody in the room.

Just quick and merciless capital punishment.

Rid the planet of detritus like this.

I think these school shootings are a sign of the times. Children are not taught obedience.
Bullshit.  They aren't just being taught obedience, they're being indoctrinated ith it to the exclusion of any semblance of self-determination.  They're being told that the best they can hope for out of life is to be a cog in somebody else's machine, and that it's wrong, destructive and contrary to "the greater good" for them to so much as think anything else.

When you instill hopelessness, you create the situation where they see they have nothing to lose by lashing out, because the life laid out for them isn't worth living.

They can't be disciplined and nothing is ever their fault.

If by disciplining children, you mean give the little snot-noses an ass-beating whenever they step out of line, then you're right. Frankly, I can't say that I'm sorry to see those days coming to ann end. If you think that making spanking socially unacceptable means that you have no means of teaching discipline to the little skulls full of mush, then you're just as guilty of lazy parentling as the moonbats are.

I'm the son of a senior chief petty officer, and there aren't numbers big enough for the number of times I was getting "the end that listened" talked to as a kid, but this wasn't the disciplinary pattern that I carried with me when I became a father. I can count on one hand the nuber of times I've struck my son, but 's spent many times more than he'd like in the front-leaning rest position while he was reminded whose house this is and who's in charge around here. This is just one of the multitude of creative ways my wife and I have come up with to help my son develop SELF DISCIPLINE instead of hating and resenting his mom and I because WE are disciplining him.

Roe vs Wade instills no respect for human life.

How many of the modern crop of 12-year olds thugs pulling folks out of their cars and beating them within an inch of their lives do you think would cite Roe V. Wade as a reason for why their outlook on life is as fatalistic and jaded as it is? Think, man! There are any number of things within the walls of your own home which are de-sensitizing your kids to violence in general and death in particular. Concentrate on the immediate threats before you start placing responsibility on an arcane Supreme Court ruling that 100 to 1, doesn't exist in these kids universe.
