All you santorum supporters are going to start shooting people any day now.

Brace yourselves: Santorum is leading a wave of stochastic terrorism. Get ready for shootings...
For those of you unfamiliar with the term "stochastic terrorism", there's a classic diary on Daily Kos that explains it...
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/01/10/934890/-Stochastic-Terrorism:-Triggering-the-shooters?showAll=yes&via=blog_558016
Stochastic terrorism is the use of mass communications to stir up random lone wolves to carry out violent or terrorist acts that are statistically predictable but individually unpredictable.
This is what occurs when Bin Laden releases a video that stirs random extremists halfway around the globe to commit a bombing or shooting.
This is also the term for what Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, and others do. And this is what led directly and predictably to a number of cases of ideologically-motivated murder similar to the Tucson shootings.
Think of it as being like Russian Roulette, because it has a random component - that's what stochastic means. The right-wingers go on their media channels, making all sorts of outrageous statements. Dog whistles, dehumanizing, demonizing. Over and over and over. Because they've got some statisticians, hovering over what resembles actuarial tables, and they know that every time they make such statements, there's a probability that some crazy is going to come out and start shit. Maybe they'll shoot a gynecologist working at Planned Parenthood. Maybe they'll shoot a member of Congress in the face. Maybe they'll make an attempt on President Obama. Or maybe they'll shoot up a Unitarian/Universalist church or a gay bar - where those libruls hang out.
Santorum is putting a bullet in the gun, spinning the cylinder, pointing the gun at us, and pulling the trigger. Click. Try again. Spin. Point. Click. Again. Some time, maybe tomorrow, maybe three years from now, the gun goes BANG! and somebody dies.
Santorum says the Democratic Party is all about homosexuality. Spin. Point. Click.
He says that Obama is not a real Christian... Spin. Point. Click.
He says that women are getting fetal testing to help them get abortions. Ladies... Spin. Point. Click.
When does the gun go off? Nobody knows for sure, but I'm sure the bastards have Vegas-style odds-makers on that job.

Um, no. Obama is doing more to promote violence by constantly harping about the rich paying their fare share. By doing so he is giving the DUmmies and their ilk a call to take what they want from the rich. Riots and violence almost always come from the left.

9. Does that mean Maxine Waters leads the charge on the Democratic side?
""I saw pictures of Boehner and Cantor on our screens (at the convention). Don't ever let me see again, in life, those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons," she told the crowd. "They are bringing down this country, destroying this country, because they’d rather do whatever they can do destroy this president rather than for the good of this country.â€
Spin. Point. Click. That about right? Or can you find some kind of justification for her words, and/or something that separates and distinguishes her words from Sanitoriums? I'd argue that her words were much more pointed than his. No such thing as a Democratic lone wolf crazy? Can you say John Wayne? As in Gacy?

On the Democratic side, those kinds of remarks are not happening habitually, and they're called out, by fellow Democrats.
It's the Republicans that keeps making those remarks over, and over, and over, and over, and over, who brush off complaints about it, and keep doing it even after people start getting shot.

I look at it this way: We have many crazy, violent wingnut assholes with guns. It can't possibly hurt if more sane, responsible, and civilized people went armed.

Why stop there? If you're going to say "three years from now" why not say "one hundred years from now?"
No reason to limit the time line of the spin you intend on creating anyway.

If we were to actually eat the rich, who would you eat first?
I was thinking Rush Limbaugh might make a good meal, but then again his meat is probably bitter as hell, and toxic at that from all the oxy.
The Kardashian family might not be a bad meal, and think of the leftovers!

Interesting attempt to invent a means to link a politician to a whacked out killer using zero evidence whatsoever.
It's a stretch, but the Left really is serious about criminalizing all opposition speech. How do you defend yourself against accusations like this?
Invented word--invented crime. Censorship.

"Stochastic terrorism"
I think Nads stumbled over that term in her Googling sometime last year and introduced it to the Hive. It was Pretentious Word Of The Month there until it was replaced by trajectory or arc or trend or whatever.
If what Santorum is saying is stochastic terrorism, what is, "It won't be long before the rich are no longer protected by their gated communities", and, "They won't be happy until we are all dead", and, "We need to start arming ourselves", and, "It would be nice if (name here) met with some kind of accident", all of which and many more such sentiments we've read over and over on DU? Most if not all of the violence we've seen attributed to the Right has been perpetrated by individuals with disturbed mental states whose politics, if any, have been muddled or even bent to the Left. That hasn't stopped DUmmies from unilaterally proclaiming them all as calculating, card-carrying conservatives despite clear evidence to the contrary. All it takes is one DUmmy proclaiming it, evidence be damned, and all the rest latch onto the meme like it's the gospel truth.
Meanwhile, there's example after example of Leftist mob violence, most recently in the form of "peaceful OWS protesters", that gets rationalized or handwaved away as "agents provocateur".

I think they know its crap. I think it's an attempt to censure conservative speech by linking it to leftist murders.
They don't believe it. But they want to criminalize all opposition speech. The great thing here is no evidence needs to be presented beyond the accusation.
This is deliberate.

They were stuck on "conflating" for a long time. You can still see it around every so often.

OWS Letter to the Editor in USA Today: We Will Storm Wall Street With Guns
Posted by Ben Shapiro Feb 21st 2012 at 2:09 pm in Mainstream Media, Occupy Wall Street, Politics, media bias | Comments (175)
Over at USA Today, a self-employed massage therapist from Austin, TX has a letter to the editor responding to an editorial suggesting that Occupy Wall Street has lost its way.
Here’s what this fellow wrote:
USA TODAY’s editorial is right to say that Occupy might lack clear goals on how to move forward, but the movement has accomplished its main original goal: to protest these injustices, not by simply holding a rally and going home, but by keeping the rally going to underscore the seriousness of this problem. Your piece accuses the protesters of sitting around and doing nothing. So maybe they should take up their Second Amendment-sanctioned guns and storm Wall Street and our nation’s capitals. If our country doesn’t change, it could very well come to that one day.
Notice the language here. Rich Latta, the author, threatens outright to head to Wall Street with firearms. Janet Napolitano, where are you? He says they out to head to Washington, D.C. packing heat. Secret Service, you’re being paged.
The irony here, of course, is that the mainstream media prints these sorts of letters without a second thought so long as they spring from OWS – and that nobody seems to care. If this had come from the tea party, it would be front page news at Huffington Post. Instead, it’s buried in the editorial page of USA Today, and disappears into the ether. Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as leftist media bias.
