I wonder if the protagonists will kill a bunch of non-whites during the film's climax. What do you think?
Make no mistake, these SEALS are heroes. They live off government cash while defending you and me from evil brown-skinned people. I wonder if impressionable young Americans will see this film. Maybe it will encourage them to live out their war hero fantasies, impressing their family and friends by.... abandoning their family and friends to defend U.S. oil interests (while living off taxpayers).
All jokes aside, this film is despicable; America's "defense" budget is out of control. Can we stop encouraging young people to do moronic things? America's outrageous debt crisis was created in large part because of stupid military spending. People need to wake up. Valor does not mean starting wars, killing innocents (100k Iraqi civilians dead), and creating enemies for profit.
Bring the troops home. Put them in school. Read books. Say "no" to mindless propaganda.

Your view is a fantasy: you imagine that the military is some poor repressed group when the reality is anything but. It is bloated, over-worshipped, and frequently counter-productive.

The OP is absolutely spot on with everything said so far in this thread. Fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe. Our government knows this. They also know most Americans are dumb as $hit and will eat up anything that is spoon fed to them. In a group of 10 people you'll be lucky to find 3 who can individually think on their own and for themselves.

We had a dinner with a few Liberals last night. One of them went off on a tirade about Catholics. I asked her why she was so full of hate. After calling Catholics about every name in the book she said there was no hate in her for Catholics, she just didn't understand why they do this that or the other thing. I said that the most intolerant people I know are Liberals and had never heard so much vile unwarranted hatred form any one person at any one time in my life (of course I have read it at the DUmp). She was offended and started a hate rant on me for pointing out the obvious. The other two people at the table chimed in that they too had never heard so much intolerance and hate form a person (the wife kept elbowing me in the ribs). She was surprised because she expected to be supported by these Liberals and began to lash out at them too. She went on to tell them that she could not understand how they could be friends with me.
In the end she shorted her share of the bill (surprise). I think she thought that our tip would cover her missing portion. She got called on it and I got another couple of elbows from the wife.

Hence the real reason why liberals like the DUmmies hate it and view it as propaganda even before it premiered. If it were cast entirely by ultra- liberal Hollywood actors like George Clooney and Sean Penn (Neither of whom should ever be associated with any project which has the word "Valor" in the title, as they are completely bereft of it) and had them ranting about how evil the US military is, the DUmmies would shower it with praises the way they have with other liberal propaganda films like 'Avatar' and 'V for Vendetta.'
My dad and I are both looking forward to 'Act of Valor.'
