In no specific order...
1. Man, it's a good thing that Whitney Houston wasn't a white male conservative. Being a black female singer might be one of the only ways you can be a bible thumping, drug-addled queer and still have liberals fawn over you. Being black inoculates one against any possible cries of hypocrisy or any ridicule, as evinced by the utter Silence of the Liberals at the televised spectacle of Houston's EXTREMELY religious sendoff. It is quite a thing to behold, the power of skin tone over guilt-addled liberal shitheads.
2. Gas prices are over $4 where I live, yet this is a conspiracy of oil companies to make 0bama look bad in an election year. Yet, when gas prices were high under Bush, it was Bush and his buddies who were profiteering off the American consumer. Those high energy prices, despite being actively cheered on by candidate Barack Hussein 0bama, who doubled down by cheering on ALL energy prices, almost certainly contributed to 0bama's election success. When liberals write the history books, they will require a Cray supercomputer and the corpse of Kurt Godel to figure out the logical dips and turns required to figure that one out.
3. Since 2009, I have noticed the acronym 'TPTB' and 'MIC' used on DU with increasing regularity. These are references to mysterious, shadowy people who allegedly control the goings-on in the USA, especially in government. This is a clear effort to relieve one Barack Hussein 0bama from criticism of any major misdeed or misadventure by the US Government. Consider the DU hand-wringing over a possible attack on Iran: in those threads are the bulk of the references to the hoary old 'Military Industrial Complex,' that evidently can have war whenever it so desires. This parlor trick might work when one is preaching to a choir, but lurking DUmmies, the entire world minus you is clear that if we attack Iran, the order will have come from Barack Hussein 0bama, Nobel Peace Prize winner, perhaps the only man to be awarded the prize for a particular configuration of skin tone and reading skills. The "PTB" that you reference is Barack Hussein 0bama. The "MIC" is overseen by the Commander in Chief of the United States military, who happens to be Barack Hussein 0bama. You might forget those inconvenient facts, but they are facts. Remember those facts when drones circle your local skies. I do not recall drones over my home when George W. Bush was President.
4. Catholic Bishops who are up in arms about the birth control provisions suggested by 0bama: that's exactly what you get for overwhelmingly supporting 0bamacare. Hope you learned your lesson.
5. Liberals are aghast that Target used data mining to send offers for maternity goods to a teenager. I wonder how they would feel if Planned Parenthood used that same methodology to encourage that same demographic to have abortions (ppst - Planned Parenthood is working on exactly that methodology).
And so on.

The primitives like to think they're cool, hip, trendy, with-it, on the inside, by using stupid acronyms instead of spelling things out.
Actually, MIC means "military-industrial complex," but your decoding of it might be just as good.

I've seen polls of Catholics after this came out--59% oppose this. Maybe the priests can't endorse someone from the pulpit, but they can tell who not to vote for, in round terms.

If anyone but Cardinal Timothy Dolan were the head of the RCC in the US, I'd agree with you. The advent of EWTN, and their toeing the line from the Holy See, will make sure that the proper message gets out. Also, JP II and Benedict XVI have appointed most of, if not all of, the 120 or so cardinals who can actually vote on a successor to Benedict XVI, so they think pretty close to the Holy See. I think that this is the election that Catholics rail against the Dems in big numbers--maybe 2/3rds or so.

Maybe the Catholic church can make a comeback after the pedophile scandal, and supporting lib causes. The evangelistics are better at seeing the truth of the scriptures, and living a lifestyle based on the conservatism outlined there.
