Rising Gas Prices Give G.O.P. Issue to Attack Obama
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/us/politics/high-gas-prices-give-gop-issue-to-attack-obama.html
WASHINGTON — Rising gasoline prices, trumpeted in foot-tall numbers on street corners across the country, are causing concern among advisers to President Obama that a budding sense of economic optimism could be undermined just as he heads into the general election.
White House officials are preparing for Republicans to use consumer angst about the cost of oil and gas to condemn his energy programs and buttress their argument that his economic policies are not working.
In a closed-door meeting last week, Speaker John A. Boehner instructed fellow Republicans to embrace the gas-pump anger they find among their constituents when they return to their districts for the Presidents’ Day recess.
“This debate is a debate we want to have,†Mr. Boehner told his conference on Wednesday, according to a Republican aide who was present. “It was reported this week that we’ll soon see $4-a-gallon gas prices. Maybe higher. Certainly, this summer will see the highest gas prices in years. Your constituents saw those reports, and they’ll be talking about it.â€

7. This price increase falls directly into the lap of the speculators.

2. That 2008 gas run up was ugly ... this might be the same.
The Administration can do nothing at this point to but buckle up for the ride.
B Calm
3. GOP has control of Congress
So why don't they go after those nasty wall street speculators instead of pointing their finger. .

14. Yeah, they're gonna flog the
"High Price of Gas!" horse until it flops down and dies.

20. Largely due to speculation on the oil commodities market. So let's get the **** off oil ! And
Repukes hate to talk about that.

18. But how could Obama cause the rise in gas prices?
He isn't an oil producer or an oil company, and he doesn't trade futures in oil.
What nonsense. This is the oil industry trying to pull its weight to elect ridiculous, unattractive Republican candidates.

22. The President can do little to control gas prices.

27. LOL, and what would them Baggers do about it?? They would be able to do shit.
Stupid mofo s Gasoline is only a small part of what all that oil is used for.

Good luck living without all that stuff morons.
I saw today that gas is projected to hit $4.50 a gallon before Memorial Day--and that's without the Israelis hitting the Iranians, and the Iranians trying to close the Straits of Hormuz, and the US Navy (with the Royal Navy, and the French Navy, and the Saudi Navy, and the Qatari Navy, etc.) blasting the Straits open, and the price will go up $2.00 a gallon after that. Obama's at the helm--he gets the blame.
I don't blame Obama for that. I'd expect/demand every president to do the same. What I do blame Obama and Clinton and the rest of the commies for is:
shutting down uranium mining
shutting down coal mining
refusing new refinery permits
refusing new nuke plants
absurd eco laws based on non-existent technology
billions sunk into green tech
no new Gulf of Mexico drilling permits
harassing frackers
closing drilling on the Outer Continentel Shelf
closing ANWR
de facto carbon taxes passed by regulatory fiat, not congress
bio-diesel bullshit
subsidize drilling in Brazil
Get rid of this crap and Iran would not be 1) rich enough to invest in nukes 2) able to extort Europe and Asia
Don't forget canceling the Keystone XL pipeline and the fact 0bama said he wanted gas at $5/gallon. Just wait until the EPA Politburo start issuing edicts that "necessarily make the price of electricity to skyrocket."
Oh, and let's not forget the folks who heat their homes with heating oil (like me) who are paying $3.60 or more for a gallon of heating oil, who have only higher prices to look forward too, but the poor just got their legs cut out from under them this past year when LIHEAP funding got cut in half.
Nice goin, Barruh. What's next, ****er--gonna tell us to put on a sweater?

All Liberals care about is that the oil companies make less money, that's their only objective. :whatever:
They seem uninterested in the fact that they'll be paying twice as much at the pump if Obama's Enviromarxist policies continue.
Around here, at a lot of the gas stations, little stickers that say "Obama's fault", have appeared next to the little price per gallon LCD on the pumps.
Wonder where they came from?
If gas goes up to $5/gallon, it will cost both of our cars $85 every fill up. We would end up spending near $400 a month just in gasoline to get to and from work to support the freeloaders.
It's already costing me $600/month @ $3.39/gallon to get to work. :argh:

The DUmmies don't have any issue with 0bama speculating on solar panel companies and failing.

I'm checking into whether or not Scoobie can drop me off near the security gate at my work so we can carpool. This is getting friggin INSANE.
Our post-it notes are showing up again at gas stations. I went to a pump a month ago and there was a $93 or $95 post it note stuck on the pump. Ouch. I hope that person doesn't have to fill up every week.
my 'burban has almost hit $100.00 markI'm spending that much to drive my Camry. :(
but i can go a month with the typical amount of driving i do.
Obama briefly touched on rising gas prices, saying the payroll tax cut extension will help families who are struggling to fill their tanks.

Ex-Obama adviser: Raise payroll tax cut if gas prices jump
For the typical family, he said the tax cut was "a big deal."
"It means $40 extra in their paycheck, and that $40 helps to pay the rent, the groceries, the rising cost of gas — which is on a lot of people's minds right now," he said

Dear DUmmies,
Obumbles vetoed the Keystone Pipeline. He's slashed offshore permits to next to nothing. Rather than depend on domestic sources, he has INCREASED our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, or worse, invested in snake oil "alternative sources" which have gone bankrupt.
HE OWNS IT. ALL OF IT.
Exactly. 40 dollars? I'm sooooo happy!!!!!! Let me show you my oh face.

When it gets to over $4.00 + I won't be able to get to work eventually so can I send my bills to Nobama? I hear he's got a stash.

In fact Barry, if we produce our own oil, women will save a ton of money, and they can buy their own birth control pills with the savings.
