Let's Get Bradley Manning the Nobel Peace Prize
The Nobel Peace Prize is supposed to go to "the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."
Three members of Parliament in Iceland have nominated Bradley Manning and laid out the case:
"Manning is a soldier in the United States army who stands accused of releasing hundreds of thousands of documents to the whistleblower website WikiLeaks. The leaked documents pointed to a long history of corruption, war crimes, and imperialism by the United States government in international dealings. These revelations have fueled democratic uprising around the world, including a democratic revolution in Tunisia. According to journalists, his alleged actions helped motivate the democratic Arab Spring movements, shed light on secret corporate influence on our foreign policies, and most recently contributed to the Obama Administration agreeing to withdraw all U.S.troops from the occupation in Iraq."
Few have done more. A number of previous peace laureates have done far less.
My nutsack has done more for world peace (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002310570)

6. One, petitions are not recognized by the Nobel committee.
Second, neither are the "nominations" made by outside parties. Being "nominated" carries exactly no weight whatsoever.

9. And developing the habit of engagement would be bad.
Can't have that.

13. An internet petition is not "engagement." It's the opposite of that, actually.
It's pushing a button to feel like you're doing something without actually doing anything.

Don't ever question the patron saint of lost moonbat causes, TheWraith. Beth took on Scamdy's cause, after all.

11. Indeed. A far more deserving candidate than Obama was.
I suspect Obama was awarded with great hope for the future of peace with him in office.
Drone attacks and the assassination of an innocent American teenager probably has some who gave it to him feeling pretty let down.
Manning is a true hero, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.
Oh no you DINT!!!

16. Bad, bad Obama. Who was it got Bin Laden again? I doubt he personally is
in charge of drone attacks and assassinations but have at it...
(Meanwhile Bush was in control of everything in the Universe, including rainfall and the temperature.

23. You think Obama should get a second peace prize award? How about one for civil liberties! :)
Ouchie!

33. Exactly.
Just like Nixon was not personally in charge of anything regarding Vietnam or Cambodia.
I love a good DU bitchfight.

I think the blindfold is unnecessary, actually.

The only Nobel he deserves is stick of old Alfred's finest up his ass with a lit fuse and a cap in it.

Effeminate Bradley has been worn out to the point where a few M67's being pushed by Lemmiwinks would work out just fine.

No need to ruin a good coat, either.

Hanging is better for traitors.
-
Benedict Arnold just signed the petition. In fact, Mr. Arnold thinks that there should be a retroactive Nobel Peace Prize given to him.

Hanging is better for traitors.
Agreed! The little ****ing weasel should be hung by the neck until dead.

Hanging is more environmentally friendly. You can reuse that rope...

First they give one to a con-man and now they want one for a traitor.....soon all god's chillins will have a No-Bell Piece prize.

I saw the movie Philadelphia and cured the world of aids.
Actually, that is a lie. I never saw the movie Philadelphia.
But one time I lied about seeing the movie Philadelphia and cursed the world of aids!

Umm, I think that was two con-men.
Just sayin'. :-)

I can think of one laureate in particular who had done less when given the award...and then went on to spread peace by launching a needless war in Libya.

Yeah...he ended up killing a shit-ton more Libyans that Moe the Q would have if he'd been left to his own devices.

Just make sure it is "hemp" rope.

When Manning receives his Nobel, hand him the invention of the prizes namesake, lit.

Can you beat someone to death with a Nobel prize?

Yes, but there's an easier way. My suggestion you quoted.
