This too; ever since Nebraska's had term limits (the past four years or so), taxes have been cut every year, because there's no professional politicians cronying up with special interests:
Term Limits.
This would be the death of the Democrat party, as it would inevitably curtail the powers of local Democrat machines:
Enactment of Uniform Federal Election Rules.
So it's not all bad, but on the other hand, one suspects the bad things would be accomplished before any of these good things.

Any "ethical guidelines for the transfer of donated funds" are nonexistent for this "corporate owner", which took Matching Funds donated for the sole specified and stipulated use of public Outreach and Education, and instead directed them to a payment for an expensive venue for the Convention in flagrant disregard of the donors wishes.

I worked very hard on this effort for 3 months, including web deisgn and volunteer outreach. This is anything but a democratic process. After my 3 months, I say with conviction that the man running this group is using the people to propel his own political career. This is the biggest fear of ows and rightfully so...that any political figure will come along and try to use the movement for their own political greed. As an isiders view I can assure you, that is the portrait of Michael Pollok.
If you think I am merely a disgruntled volunteer, do a little research. You will find no shortage of documentation of the trail of people he has used and abused in his own reach for power. Since this groups inception it has been laughed out of ows, the NYCGA, Occupy Philly (where the NGA is meant happen [this "convention is anything but an NGA, btw]) and any grass roots effort it finds. This is why you will find this publicized on paid tv commercials, and mainstream media.
This is the defintiion of "co-opting."

Wow Susan that's pretty strong words - This effort hasn't been done by one man = it has gotten to where it is today by the many, many hours of hard work by hundreds of people that have donated their time and energy... their reward - to be threatened with law suits - after this one resigned and the people carried on with out him....
He refused to release all the money donated, precious, hard earned money by hundreds of people - He was asked for financial transparency - CPA's offered to help with the finances - but he wanted control.
There were many, many people working quite nicely together - but the one man got a little side tracked with a TV special and talk of a movie & book deal - Then it was discovered he ran for congress in '09 and lost - just imagine how this effort would assist his political career.
He continues to block/delete and censor people - he, his web mistress has deleted close to 100 people from the website.
So please - you are right - this effort can not be done by one man and yet it is one man that thinks he can.... Let's be honest shall we.

Maybe????
1) Establish the requirement that all corporations that receive any money from the Federal, State and local governments must maintain transparency with all their finances. Said moneys include but are not limited to research funds, negotiated tax relief or expansion funding to name just three.
2) Stop the wrist slaps for corporations. That is, if you or I kill someone, our freedom is forfeit, if we are lucky, our life is forfeit if not. The same rule should apply to corporations.
3) Similarly, if a corporation "misappropriates" money through fraud, neglect or practices that harm humans or the commons, damages should equal the "misappropriation" and fines should be equal to the damages. Wouldn't we all take the standard corporate "deal" of
being able to steal billions and pay fines equal to a mere fraction of that which was stolen? I'm sure no one would ever steal again...
4) Immediately reverse the Gramm, Leach and Bliley Act. Most specifically, the obligation to recognize Credit Default Swaps and all other bogus securities established specifically for the one percent. Which are further protected with regulations making sure that this specific debt is paid before all others in a bankruptcy. Then, declare the $1 quadrillion plus of outstanding debt generated by and for the 1% null and void. This debt is the product of all of the bankruptcies, devalued property values and the trillions sent to foreign interests in the way of gifts or bailouts.
5) Nationalize the Federal Reserve and eliminate debt owed by the Federal Government to this for-profit business.

Hope this plan works better than their plan to shut down all the ports in California, or the plan to shut down conservative's in DC...OWS isn't exactly batting 1000.
