The Party Of Operation Chaos Updated at 4:34 PM
Edited on Wed May-07-08 08:25 PM by EarlG
This "Operation Chaos" scheme by Rush Limbaugh is pure genius, a guaranteed winner. It fits perfectly into the media's campaign narrative. Meanwhile both sets of candidate supporters are propping up Lardbutt's plot: Clinton supporters want people to believe that they're stronger than Obama against these kind of right-wing attacks, and Obama supporters want people to believe that the dittohead army are the only ones voting for Clinton. Who wins?
That's right: Captain Ass-Boil.
So stop worrying about Rush Limbaugh, and ask yourself this question:
Is this the best they've got? "Operation Chaos"?
81% of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction, Bush has the highest disapproval rating of any president since records began, Iraq is going nowhere, and the economy is going down the drain. And the considered, adult, conservative approach to this sorry situation is... "Operation Chaos." Yeehaw!
Funny thing though...
"Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to getting George W. Bush elected in 2000. "Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to counter-terrorism before Sept. 11th, and the way they've run the Department of Homeland Security since. "Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. "Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to the occupation of Iraq. And "Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to the economy.
In fact, "Operation Chaos" seems to have been the Republican approach to governing in general.
So by all means, Rush, please keep on branding away...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5871461
how many times does Rush have to explain this to you guys?? he's not doing anything illegal; if he was, somebody would have indicted him by now. and the point of Operation Chaos is to bloody up your guy The Barackstar! oh, and to create havoc.. come on Dummies.. do you really think his talking about it every day on the radio means its a big secret? he only gets, what, 20 million listeners per week?
thats it! he's trying to keep it all hush hush.. dont tell anybody!!!
EarlG's just mad ya'll didnt ever think of it..

Not true (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/2003-12-26-approval-ratings_x.htm). Truman had a rating of 23% before the 1951 election.

of course, its a rovian PLOT! :-)

4. I was media blasting this on March 5 (after Ohio Primary):
I WONDER WHAT REAL EFFECT IT HAD ON THE NUMBERS SINCE THE MARCH 4 PRIMARY? HERE IS MY INITAL BLAST:
IMHO-Limbaugh's push to vote for Hillary is a calculated rovian ploy to influence
the Democratic primary w a candidate they believe they can beat. Think about it-he has detested Hillary in the past but would rather select her over an old, probably 1 term Republican that could be coupled with a VP who better reflects their goals? I say he is being disingenuous, and it doesn't pass the smell test. Then you add Bill Cunningham (southern Ohio RW radio) to the mix and voila a major cross-over push in Ohio to stop the momentum of a candidate they fear and promote a candidate who will bring out the Republican base and they believe they can beat.
McCain is the nominee so what would stop Republicans from this cross-over voting and effecting who they will run against?
Turned away at poll?
Some are told to wait - or come back later
BY JESSICA BROWN AND BARRETT J. BRUNSMAN | JLBROWN@ENQUIRER.COM | BBRUNSMAN@ENQUIRER.COM

In that heavily Republican county, officials weren't prepared for the high number of Democratic ballots requested. Some voters waited for more than an hour for new ballots to be delivered; others were asked to come back later or asked to go to the county Board of Elections to vote.
The reason: a wave of "crossover" voting, in which normally Republican voters asked for Democratic ballots. In Clermont County, turnout surged to 43 percent Tuesday - compared with just 31 percent in the 2004 presidential primary.
-snip
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said there was also a "crossover problem" in Akron and elsewhere in Summit County where many Republicans and non-enrolled Ohioans voted Democratic.
-snip
Of Clermont County's 128,128 registered voters, 37,714 are registered Republicans and 14,496 are registered Democrats. With all precincts counted, 26,279 people had cast Democratic ballots and 28,032 had cast Republican ballots.
Warren County has 12,440 registered Democrats and 41,377 registered Republicans. With all precincts reporting, that county was reporting 27,855 Democratic ballots cast and 28,683 Republican.

It's all sour grapes for them and Earl doesn't like it. To bad for him because we are all laughing at the Dems trying to spin this in their favor.

yeah - Rush had a long soliloquy about it today and he's right. he was saying, "just take the nomination from Barack and give it to Hilary. the blacks will keep voting for you; they always have and youve treated them badly for decades!"
McCain's team better be keeping track of all this - the Dems are handing McCain the White House on a silver platter - he'd better find the guts to fire back and not let the country forget about this super delegate stuff and how the Dem party did this to their own people.

OTH, since the donks took over has there ever been a lower rated congress?

good question... i honestly dont know, but i am always suspect of polls and percentages. i still dont buy that GWBush is the most reviled president in history.
the man won two elections with no split vote a la a third party. that's good enough for me.

That's a fine point Chris. Add to it the fact that I, and many, many, many others include themselves in that 81% "wrong direction" number and I woulden't spit on a Dem if they were on fire. For his few good points, GWB, IMHO is a wussy big governmant compassion pansy. And W's biggest "good point" (besides pis sing all the right people off) was being a little more bearable than the alternatives.

Of course the DUmmies would argue that Nader took away enough votes from Gore in 2000. Actually, most of them think that Algore won anyway, but they're still pissed at Nader.
-
Everbody has their own opinion of what the "right direction" is for this country. Even if you ask a hundred thousand people what their opinion is, they're all going to be different. That 81% number is meaningless.

its even more than that though; its the questions they ask in these 'polls' ..
remember the whole "68% of the country is against the war" meme? the radio guys got the polling questions and realized the questions were just all skewed. where they got that 68% was from this question: "If the president lied to get us into the Iraq war, would you support him?"
of course, most thinking people would say no .. but they (MSM news who needed a fake headline that day) extrapolated it into a major, major story that tried to make the rest of us believe the war was a mistake.

Hey, I voted for ears in '92 and '96, but there's no way I could have voted for Nader.

Not so fun when the shoe is on the other foot. They've been dong this to Republicans for years...the last time just a couple months ago. Now they have the gall to be indignant. For a group that constantly talks about Karma, they don't seem to grasp the concept that it can come around and bite them on the ass, too. Payback's a bitch.

i honestly was not big on GW first time around ... but back then I believed the media hype much more. i was trying to make a statement with my vote..
and boy did i .. :lmao:

i cannot WAIT to see how the Dems spin it this time.. when THEIR party cheats Florida and Michigan out of their delegates and then to add salt in the wound, the super delegates make the final decision... THAT will somehow wind up being the GOPs fault.
-
I think this SD mess may force the Dems back to the drawing board if it doesn't kneecap them entirely in '08. Having an elite group of political insiders making the final decision on who actually gets nominated sorta makes all their arguments about the GOP being the elite and questions about vote counting absurd and ridiculous.
I hear the GOP may be considering a rotating calendar of regional primaries, but that's another thread for another day.

12. Honestly, I think the DU admins need to get together and give a statement on their
assessment of the race. It's almost certain Obama will be the nominee. It is certain that the Clinton campaign is generating a lot of noise and create confusion. I highly doubt if it were the other way around the DU admins would be so "neutral". Of course Operation Chaos is just more noise, but certainly doesn't help anything. The longer this goes on the worse it is for everyone on the left.
I implore you and your colleagues to come to some consensus on this and publish a statement.

It seems to me that until such time as Lord Marblehead EarlG has a blue-and-gold passport, it would be simple English, or British, civility, to restrict his opinions of politics to those of his own country.

I think I read the other day where Labour took a pounding at the latest election. Did marblehead make any mention of this?
Otherwise, Operation Chaos rolls on. Since our choices have come down to 3 libs anyway, might as well have some fun getting there.

And "direction" can (and is) directed (as it were) at congress. Make that the dimicrat-led congress. And congress' poll numbers are LOWER than GWB's!
I would call these "stats" the perfect example of statistical cherry picking.

My husband who used to rodeo in his younger days (roughstock) always says "It takes more than a hat and a pair of boots to make a cowboy." Still, it's always good for a laugh when a metrosexual girly-man tries to do the whole macho thing. They just can't pull it off. It's SO pretentious when they try to do the whole "I'm just like all you little people."

But the public won't lay it on the doorstep of the Republicans, it'll be laid at the doorstep of the rioters, who no one will mistake for conservatives. Just like '68 it'll be same shit, different venue. The public will witness the anarchy of the Left and gravitate towards law-and-order Republicans, again, just like '68.

Why the hell do you need a statement from them? You don't have a mind of your own? That's pretty pathetic. "Speak to us, O Wise Oracle. Tell your legions what to think!" Of what value are their statements anyway? You've got one DLC shill, one clueless British fop who grinds out a red meat post a couple of times a year, and one technogeek who rarely even rears his head above the surface of the cesspool. Is that your geopolitical brain trust? God help you if that's the best you can muster.

We're not the ones worrying about the state of our political party, Lieutenant Lance-A-Boil, you and I both know that.
Additionally, we don't worry about Rush however, by the way your party turns venomous over the mere mention of his name, it is obvious that Rush's "Operation Chaos" is working beyond our wildest dreams.
