There is nothing worse than going to the post office and standing in line...
Really, there is nothing else in this world that is worse than standing on line at the Post Office.
Seriously....
For those of you who haven't seen that commercial for on-line postage, that is what they say.
Not that it is annoying to schlep over to the Post Office in the middle of the day.
Nope, there is nothing worse, nothing, do you hear me, than going to the muther ****ing post office in the middle of the day..........

3. DMV
The line at the Department of Motor Vehicles is worse than the line at the post office, hands down!

7. Try any grocery store.
They have twelve checkout lanes and only one or two of them open. People are in line, backed up all over the place, no matter what time you get there. That is annoying.
Maybe they'd hire more people if labor costs could be lowered.

6. They took the stamp vending machines out of the offices near me!
20-30 people in line with packages during XMas so I didn't mail any cards.

9. When the Post Offices are gone...
...and the people in rural areas have no mail, and anyone who wants to send a letter will have to stand in line at the overcrowded Fedex or UPS customer counters or "mailing centers" and glare at the untrained minimum-wage counter persons that quit every few months and pay, oh, $3.25 or so for the "economy" service they used to get for 45 cents to send a check in a letter when they have to, I'm guessing "the Unions" will still be blamed.
1) private companies can epand to meet growing demand without an act of congress
2) if the unions break the budget they should be blamed

14. About half the replies "got" this OP and about half didn't
at this point. I think that's about par for the course
Oh, we got it.

The OP was mocking a commercial for stamps.com which uses small business owners that complain about having to waste time from business to stand in line at the post office. It's a valid complaint for anyone that has to take time of work to mail packages or bulk mailings.
However, my complaint with the local post office is that their stamp machines don't take cash, only credit/debit cards.

Actually, that's an improvement.
The last time I used one of those machines, it gave me a handful of those stupid dollar coins in change.
By the way, whatever happened to half-dollar coins? Haven't seen one in years.

We call those "quarters" now.

DUmmies:
I can buy stamps through the automatic teller at my bank or while I'm checking out at the grocery store. I seldom need to do that because I rarely mail anything.
I do my bill paying online and do the automatic payment thing whenever I can. It's just one less thing I have to think about. I choose paperless billing, not because I want to save the planet, I just don't need more crap in my mailbox.
Generally when I send packages I use UPS or FedEx. The post office could be much, much smaller and be more effective especially if workers compete for jobs.
I will miss the Elvis collectible stamps, though.

Wish we had an icon for a wry grimace. (My favorite cocktail).
GOBUCKS, someone this summer paid me at our takeout joint with a big fistfuls of those half dollars. I tucked them away. Think they'll be worth something someday?

With any luck they may be worth 50 cents someday. :-)
