Registered republican at age 21 (now 69), married to a republican for 44 years.
Found this site via another forum (they referred to this one as a site which cannot be named) where I have been a member since 2004 or 5. I found that site via 'Neal's Nuze, the Neal Boortz website.
Have been reading this forum for a couple of years now.

Welcome.

Greetings--and unless I'm mistaken, you can name any site you like here.
We're not DU, after all.

Welcome!

Hello, and greetings.
Question.
Not asked with malicious intent--no way--but rather for the purposes of marketing conservativecave.
We get a lot of members who lurked here a long time, sometimes a very long time, before registering to become a member.
There seems to be a hesitation; I'm concerned that we here may be coming across--erroneously, of course--as if we don't want people to join, as if one's afraid he or she won't fit in.
What other reason(s) might there be, that one hesitates before joining?
We're actually enthusiastic about new people (and our current members too); the more, the merrier.

I lurked for a long time because I was using this site (plagiarizing as it were) for posts in this year's DOTY threads. This post will possibly out me now, but it has been a several year run, and it might be time to let it go. It doesn't seem to be as much fun as before. The only other forum I'm involved with has to do with recumbent bicycles (real ones, not the exercise ones in gyms). I use a laptop, dial up, with a USB modem, and that combo is escremely slow, so surfing and posting is sometimes an effort.

Welcome, dane!
Jeez..... Dialup..... I couldn't do that if you put a gun to my head. I'd take the bullet....

I rarely use spell check prior to posting - any action at all, allows me to play at least one, sometimes two, games of solitaire while the screen refreshes.
I'm pretty sure I've dozed off a few times.

Let's do a fundraiser for you My Dear Dane so we can get you high speed Internet. After all, it is a human right! Can I buy you a laptop too? :p

Our carrier has promised DSL in our area within a year. There has never been cable here, and we've opted against any sort of dish. When the teevee signal went digital, it was too weak for the converter box to pick it up. Even with a 40' mast we had been lucky to get three channels on a good day.
Now we read more, and listen to more music. And there is Netflix, and the library movies. We've come to like this quiet, peaceful life.

The taxpayers should pay to get DSL in your area my dear Dane.
PS I'm just messing with you. :-*
