I had my Sunday afternoon call with my parents
today. They're both 87, and tend to vote Republican. However, they voted for Obama in 2008, because they didn't care for McCain. Today, they asked me what I though about Newt Gingrich winning that South Carolina primary. I said that I didn't think much of Gingrich at all. I sort of hedge my bets a little with my parents. Politics isn't really a topic of conversation in my family very often.
Well, my father said that he thought Newt shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the White House, and that anybody who cheated on two wives, then married the person he was cheating with shouldn't get elected to any office. I asked him what he thought of Mitt Romney, and he said he didn't think much of him, either, and that he'd be voting for Obama again, since he didn't talk out of the corner of his mouth like most politicians.
I guess there's hope for my old Republican dad. He voted against Bush, too, in 2004. Called him a "chicken hawk." Ha!
I bet you called to borrow money... :bouncy:
