Take note of the date.

DU2 is on its deathbed. I just counted a mere 11 threads on page 1 of GD with

the latest post date of Jan 20 (that's today.)

It might be time to move on.

A few snide remarks, then this.

18. Impressive. Most posters who start this kind of thread disappear after the OP.

The "O" is not detered by numerous other witty remarks.
Then this one pops up.

16. How many days have you been counting new GD threads? Because I start several GD threads a day, but

Friday, January 20 was the first day in a while that I have not done that (as was Saturday).

Was it total coincidence that you chose the first day in a while that I had not started a bunch of new GD threads?
Or have you been counting daily?

For your sake, I sure hope it was pure coincidence.

A regular keyboard warrior, he is. Yup.
I wonder how long this deadbeat has been sucking on the disability teat?

Wow.

The 0bamanaut primitive and franksolich have been doing exactly the same thing, without either of us knowing about the other one.

What the 0bamanaut primitive says is true; the old DU is on its last legs.

Not only are there fewer and fewer primitives each day, but the site itself is, technologically, deteriorating.

I wish it'd hurry up and die, so that all the primitives are corralled into one place, rather than two places.

And it would be good for the reactionary change-resistant brain-damaged primitive to learn to like change.

The old DUmp has just about died out.

Mainly you have a bunch of copy-and-paste articles from the unterprimitiven Elephant that are nothing but braindead kpete-ish junk.

And maybe it's just me, but junk ads cover part of the screen now. Not that there's anything worth reading.

27. There were several OPs on the DU3 Help/Meta forum re DU2, and I became

curious.

The hangers-on don't seem to want to give it up, and that's ok. For the ones who have accumulated tens of thousands posts, one must wonder: Do they have jobs? Or lives away from a keyboard? Or ever see the sun?

Honor someone no longer here by typing? By combing the newsfeeds and posting snippets on an anonymous forum? Why not instead volunteer in a school, food bank, nursing home, etc? Maybe go to a rehab hospital and assist someone revovering from injuries/illness in their efforts to regain some of their former independence. That is honoring someone.

But hey. If a person has tens of thousands posts, good for them!

Have a very nice day. Listen to the birds. Watch the clouds scudding across the sky. Frolic with a dog.

Surely you jest.

I've noticed that too, and it's gotten worse.

I assume this is part of the natural technological deterioration of the site, because nobody's taking care of it anymore?

You can hardly read any opening posts.  The ads are crazy.

It needs to die but not the search.  I like the search.    :-)
