Lesbian Activists At Smith College Riot, Shut Down Ryan Sorba Speech On "The Born Gay Hoax"

"We're here, we're queer, get used to it!" Dozens of lesbian activists at Smith College climbed in through windows and stormed the podium in a riot scene shortly after Ryan Sorba began a speech on his upcoming book, The Born Gay Hoax.
The melee forced an end to the speech before a packed hall in the library on the Northhampton campus. Uniformed police officers and a plainclothes security guard were in the room but mostly just stood and watched.

There were no arrests and no charges of disorderly conduct. This would seem to be a clear violation of the Massachusetts’ Civil Rights statutes.
"But you know..This is the Gay republic of Massachusetts ! "

Lesbian activists at Smith College riot
VIDEO I: Starts about 15 minutes into the event. As Ryan Sorba is giving speech activists climb in through windows, begin screaming, then storm the podium. Police watch as riot ensues, speaker is forced out of room. Afterwards activists continue to occupy room, scream chants, etc.
VIDEO II: Stationary camera on speaker shows melee as activists storm podium, take over entire front area of room, and comandeer microphone when officials force speaker to leave. Starts about 17 minutes into the event.
Afterwards it got even weirder. At right, a young man in a cocktail dress stands up in the back and adresses the activists. You've got to see this on the video (Part I, near the end).
After Sorba left the room, the rioters talked about this action being “queer activismâ€. And so it is. This is exactly how the homosexual movement views free speech and civil rights in their march to and force their social and sexual agenda on others and intimidate and terrorize anyone who would criticize or disagree. Truth and freedom become subjected to the whims of thought police and rioters.
The following morning the president of Smith College issued a statement (reprinted below) about the incident. The statement is very offensive. She characterizes Ryan Sorba’s views as “reprehensible†and makes a lukewarm statement that she'll be “investigating possible violations†of Smith College’s policy regarding freedom of expression. Then she announces a pro-lesbian event taking place that evening that “stands in contrast to Mr. Sorba’s views.â€

Amazing...and they wonder why people think they want "special" rights instead of equal rights. To be equal would mean someone with a contrary point of view would have the SAME right to speak as someone who shares your opinion. I have absolutely no problem with gays and lesbians but you can't use Stalinist tactics to silence people and then DEMAND they see things YOUR way. If you ever hope to change hearts and minds you have to meet people where they are, but if you don't let listen to them you aren't going to know what they believe. Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that the world isn't going to think exactly like you and live your life while they live theirs. The concept of tolerance is lost on these people.

As supportive as I am for equal rights for Homosexuals, I'll be the first to admit that these people are their own worst enemies. :mental:

We all support and enjoy equal rights. To give homosexuals what they demand would be giving special rights to homosexuals. Is it the existing equal rights you support or are you supporting special rights? I'm never clear on that when someone claims to support equal rights for homosexuals.
I support equal rights for multi-millionaires. That is a group in real danger of being treated unequally in the eyes of the law.

We all support and enjoy equal rights. To give homosexuals what they demand would be giving special rights to homosexuals. Is it the existing equal rights you support or are you supporting special rights? I'm never clear on that when someone claims to support equal rights for homosexuals.
I support equal rights for multi-millionaires. That is a group in real danger of being treated unequally in the eyes of the law.
I'm never clear on what rights they don't already have like the rest of us. Besides a marriage certificate which really doesn't mean much. As a married woman, I still have to go through legal channels and spend time and money to become my spouse's beneficiary, etc...all things a same sex couple can do.

This begs the obvious question....if the university president found the speaker's comments so reprehensible, why was this person invited to speak there in the first place?? WTF??
I am very much aware that our institutions of higher learning are cesspools of caustic liberalism and left-wing identity politics, but why not just do not invite speakers that you dispise........or is the real rationale to invite them, then abuse them to bolster their disgusting ego-driven sense of self worth??

The schools Republician club invited the speaker with the schools administrations approval .After the riots they backed off damn quick and took the Lesians side to prevent further problems.
