Fire at prof's NJ home yields cache of child porn
EAGLESWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say firefighters in southern New Jersey uncovered a cache of child pornography while battling flames in the home of an architecture professor.
State Police arrested and charged 76-year-old Gamal El-Zoghby with child endangerment. He's listed as a professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
State Police spokesman Brian Polite tells The Press of Atlantic City (http://bit.ly/x3kqjj ) firefighters were pulling sheet rock from the walls of El-Zoghby's Eagleswood Township home when child pornography images began falling from the ceiling.
The cause of Tuesday's fire is unknown.

2. a single porn mag from the 1970s fell from the wall, where it had apparently been sealed....
A single magazine from the 1970s with pornographic images of pre-pubescent girls was enough to get a New York architecture professor arrested after firefighters found it while battling a blaze in his home at the Jersey shore.
Shortly before noon on Tuesday, firefighters received a report that the waterfront home of 76-year-old Gamal El-Zoghby was ablaze. They doused the flames, and were checking for hidden pockets of flame behind the walls by pulling down panels of sheet rock, when the magazine fell from behind one of the panels, State Police spokesman Trooper Christopher Kay said.

Um, I'll bet this turns out to be a case of some construction worker leaving it there as an easy means of disposal. The headline on this is shockingly misleading.
So too is the OP I suppose, since the excerpt I posted above is the first two paragraphs in the article and they make the event sound quite different than the lines chosen by the OP.

6. dude, I simply followed your link...
...within a couple of minutes of your posting it, and found the article I excerpted. By the same token that you feel burned, how was I to know that we weren't viewing the same article?
My comments about the original source still stand. The headline is exceptionally misleading, as were the lines that you excerpted, however innocently.

It wouldn't matter if they caught a guy making the kiddy porn, MikeC would still have their back.

Meathead, being a professor in the weed nirvana known as Humboldt, can excuse any behavior of any prof anywhere, for anything.

I have no idea about the history of the law, but I doubt the possession of such tripe was illegal in the 70s.
Production or sale, maybe, but possession? Doubt it.
It was far less an issue in pre-internet days.

It would behove law enforcement to maybe check around primitive Mike_C's humble abode....
