It's just Noot, Mittens, Santorum, and Dr. Nuts tonight. Starting out with talking points.
Santorum: "Obama has created... economic squalor".
John King is the moderator. I suppose that beats Anderson Cooper or David Gregory (yes, I know he's at NBC).

Ron Paul
don't care, don't care.
-
On Obamacare... King starts out with the sob stories about the worst of the worst. Romney says the states should have a choice to participate in Obamacare. But he's for repeal. That's what he said. Uh huh.
"Healthcare should not be run like Amtrak and the Post Office."
-
I loved Newt's line about Obama wanting to keep our "kids" on our insurance until their 26 because there are no jobs. Elect us and we there will be jobs so your kids can move out of your house. :-)
-
Newt: Obamacare "is a total mess".
"Elect us and your kids can move out because they'll have work."
Santorum is trashing RomneyCare... Rick is standing by Health Savings Accounts "while these guys were playing footsie with the Left."
-
Romney: End Medicaid.
-

That deserves it's own commercial.
I bet Dave Ramsey will pick up on that tomorrow.
-
Ron Paul must be feeling left out. Nobody's asked him to speak yet. :-)
King: "Congressman [Paul] is getting lonely down here."
Stupid retort by Paul referencing his military service. Douchebag.
-
Ron Paul is correct on basic fiscal matters. His opinion on everything else is irrelevant.
Health care spending = Foreign aid. Yadda yadda.
-
Did Santorum just compare Gingrich to Clinton? Ouch.
-
You can't help but admire Newt for dressing down King on his opening cheapshot question about his ex-wife.....the look on King's face was a thing to behold......

I missed the first ten minutes looking for an internet feed. :(
It will be on the radio tomorrow.
-
Newt: "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of gum."
Santorum: "Gingrich doesn't follow through."
Touche.
-
Romney: "I'm an outsider and a businessman. I'm not like these other two and this doctor."
And the Ron Paul goons go nuts. Get help, people.
-
Santorum is flirting with disaster attempting to take Newt on over his congressional record.
We're seeing another rather lackluster performance from Romney......he can't seem to complete a sentence.

doc
He's getting close to it.
Good reply by Romney... Main Street makes America strong, not Pennsylvania Avenue.
-
Ron Paul has no tax returns to release.
This talk about Romney not paying his "fair share" in taxes is shit. He paid for the money he invested as income first and was taxed for it at the time. From what I can see, he's getting hit twice like everyone else that invests money.

True......but this tax return business is going to hurt Romney.......Gingrich released his returns an hour before the debate.

Romney pops the 99% Pres0dent in the nose, and the round continues.
-
I'm surprised that the Keystone pipeline isn't getting more play tonight.
doc
-
Santorum is hitting Barry on regulations.
Oh boy, Ron Paul. Let's see... "Jobs sent to China promote federal debt."
-
Ron Paul defending China????
doc
-
I'm surprised that the Keystone pipeline isn't getting more play tonight.
doc
It's sure to show up.
-
Gingrich against the On-line Piracy Law.
doc
-
Good answer from Gingrich... the good intentions behind SOPA is fair. It's the arbitrary penalty phase of the legislation that is draconian.
Ron Paul: "Me too! Me too! Look at me!"
-
Not much love for Hollywood going on over SOPA.
-
A comprehensive SOPA answer from Santorum.
From what I've seen, he is no dummy. Too bad the queers and their buddies on the left trashed him in the 90s

Is it just me, or is the CNN format for this debate amateurish and somewhat less polished than the others.......King comes across like a barker at a carnival.
doc
-
It's no worse than the other CNN debates so far.
I missed the last one and I wish I hadn't, but I was tired and couldn't make it.
-
Oh goody, John King wants to have "fun". :whatever:
-
A fair answer from Romney, but it just feels like he memorized all this stuff beforehand.
I'm sure Dr. Nuts will have a great answer.
-
Oh goody, John King wants to have "fun". :whatever:
That's what I mean.......compared to the Fox, NBC, and CBS debates, this is more like a sideshow. This is the first CNN debate I've seen.
doc
-
Gingrich: "Waive all federal regulations to build a border fence. Move 1/2 of all federal agents to the border. Update the visa system. Make criminal deportation easier."
The man has specific ideas. It's better than platitudes and talking points.
-
Good answer from Gingrich on illegal immigration.
-
Good answer from Gingrich on illegal immigration.
Excellent answer. At least it sounds like he's thought it out.
Obama just says "Si, se puede!"
Romney addresses employer identification requirements.
-
You DO realize we're sitting here keyboarding to each other, right?
-
You DO realize we're sitting here keyboarding to each other, right?
Yeah, but not everyone will get to see the debate. We're doing them a favor. :-)
-
Santorum's position on immigration is muddled, and he's distorting both Romney and Gingrich's position.
doc
-
Santorum comes out strong with criminal penalties against illiegals. Good. Romney just wants them to get to the end of the line.
I heard Santorum on Meet The Press before the Iowa caucus. He did an excellent job and refused to let David Gregory paint him into a corner. He should have given that interview in December before Christmas... it would be a closer race by now.
-
Good Lord, Ron Paul is a fool......he drags the ME wars into every answer.
-
I missed the opening of the debate and so I didn't get to see Newt deliver an epic drubbing to what's-his-face.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/19/politics/gop-debate/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
Caned like an errant British schoolboy, ouch!

And he tweaks him again.
-
Damn....Newt stabs King in the back again......

Why do liberals insist on dragging abortion into every election? It's only an issue when they bring it up.
-
Why do liberals insist on dragging abortion into every election? It's only an issue when they bring it up.
Because they know that it is inflammatory, and that there are many pro-choice Republicans......
doc
-
Easy, they can't hold sway intellectually so they must resort to the emotionally charged stick-to-the-eye knee jerk stuff in a bid to appeal to the masses.
-
And King throws RP a bone.
He'll still step on his crank. He's an idiot.
-
Is King and CNN conducting a presidential debate or an audience participation event for Ron Paul?
This format is really embarrasing......perhaps intentionally on their part.

That seems to be the plan. I believe they did that last time.
...and the RP goons in the audience make themselves known.

I guess that's why their ratings are getting close to CurrentTV....how the mighty have fallen. CNN was once one of the premiere worldwide news organizations......

-
Another stupid question... "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
:whatever:
-
You DO realize we're sitting here keyboarding to each other, right?
That sounds dirty.
-
Take a valium, Ron Paul.
As far as the debt is concerned, I would like to see the Congress use Bush's 2008 $2.9 trillion budget as a baseline for all federal spending. It's a start and it would put us in a better position than the one we're in now. It would also defund Obamacare.
Romney delivers a knee to President O'Barry's crotch. He's good at that.
-
Damn, CNN cut off their web feed. I'm out.

Oh my.
That was worth listening to, more than the 55 minutes that came after it.

And THAT'S why I voted for Newt.
