A DIGITAL STRIKE? MAJOR WEBSITES INCLUDING WIKIPEDIA TO GO DARK ON WEDNESDAY
“SOPA and PIPA go too far, allowing the government to take down any website for even a single unintentional post with copyrighted material. Even a comment posted by a reader could be enough to get a site shut down.” –ECM Editor Miriam Raftery

Well, when I heard about this blackout, my first thought was for the survival of nutcase nadin.

For nadin, a google blackout would be like a 9mm double tap.

All her wisdom, out there somewhere, but not accessible.

How will she survive?

NN aside, shutting your own website down because, potentially, the government could shut it down accomplishes...?

The yenta promised us that one other time, last December, that she was going to take the day off, and she never did.

It would be fun if DUmmie Land blacked themselves out that day. It would be like 100,000 tombstones crying out at once.

Wiki is going down for a day?  It reminds me of the paraphrased words of Sir Alec Guiness in Star Wars:

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of college students and nadin shouted in terror, and were suddenly silenced."

And I didn't even have to use either Google or Wiki, DUmmies. Bite me.

Pretty sure that the evil rethugs shut this down. However, I find myself in agreement on principle with the stopping of SOPA. The government has far too much power and has gained it tenfold since the benevolent dicktator has taken over.

I agree, and in typical governmental (re)action, they will "use a sledgehammer to kill a fly".

You don't know how good the Internet can be if you missed out on Napster in its heyday.

Yeah, it's ****ed up, but that's what happens when the Hollyweird weenies piss and moan about not getting enough money.

And yet they put out shit year in, year out.  I don't think I've bought a CD in years.  I took the kids to a movie over the summer, but before that, had to have been at least 7-8 years since I plunked down my $12 for a first-run movie and $7 for shitty popcorn.
