Oh my.

This is the "Old Elm Tree Emergency Website".

Anybody want to chip in, to help out?

One notices the cross-eyed Iowa primitive, riding the first-class parlor car on the disability gravy train, isn't putting up any of his money.

Not I. You must be referring to that Hawkeye person. I know nothing about him, since I'm not an elmer, after all. I find it in poor taste for him to disclose so much information about Andrea's bank account, though. Maybe, as the Commies would say, that's just my own bourgois sentimentality coming out, you know, my parents' admonishment not to "air your dirty laundry."

Anyway, my snow delay's almost over, so I have to try to drive to work now. No disability gravy train for this member of the working class.

No, sir, I wasn't referring to you.

The cross-eyed Iowa primitive's been a Grade B celebrity here for a while.

I kind of wondered about that--if I were Andrea, the cross-eyed Iowa primitive's about the last person I'd trust any bank account information with.  I'd sooner give my bank account number to the Taverner primitive, than to the Hawkeye-X primitive.

I wasn't clear. I meant that I would not be contributing to OET. I didn't think you were referring to me. I do think it's classy of you to post their fundraising link here, though. Somehow I doubt they would do the same for you if the situation was reversed.

But I bet No Limit Jesus on LU would.

BTW, my snow delay for work turned into a cancellation. It rained in northeast Ohio all night, froze, then snowed. A lot of the streets are ice rinks. Even rock salt doesn't help much after that happens and it stays under 20 degrees.

Yep, Dutch Elms Disease, killed all the elms around here too. :-)

Andrea (the owner of Old Elm Tree) has had her bank account compromised.

I guess "compromised" is the word deadbeats use these days. Maybe it's a new word for "garnished".

We have added a non-Paypal "fundraiser" site (for those who doesn't want to use Paypal).

I assume the fundraiser is for syntax lessons, but you have to wonder.

Don't forget, this Hawkeye deadbeat has already bragged about collecting fraudulent disability payments while also being paid for working in his father's business. He's a self-admitted felon.

Do you really want to send money to a "fundraiser" run by an active criminal?

Nearly all of "his" money is actually "our" money.

What's to save?  It's one of the most boring sites on all the internets.  Someone opens a thread by C&Ping someone else's bloviating.  Nobody responds.  Rinse, repeat.

The redirect link is new. I went over this AM and both links were dead.

Maybe skimmer can float her a loan. After all she does him a big favor by taking his rejects.

I'm wondering about something.

The cross-eyed Iowa primitive alleges a criminal record, and alleges to have done time.

Okay, yeah, sure, that sounds credible.

He tries to come across as a "bad one," a really hardened ex-criminal.

Now, that's probably braggadaccio, the usual primitive swagger; my guess is that he did time for bad checks or forged checks, none of this hardened criminal crime.

I'm wondering if Andrea trusted him with access to her bank account.....

I was surprised after he was kicked off Skins's island, that Andrea immediately made him an administrator on oldelmtree, without ever having known him.

This illustrates a fallacy in the way primitives and elmers think.  Primitives and elmers think that as long as the ideology's in line, everything's okay.  Ideology is all.  Character, reputation, record, none of that counts.  Just ideological compatibility.

It's no wonder the primitives are cheated by other primitives much more than they're cheated by decent and civilized people. They think ideology is all, nothing else matters, when it comes to trusting a person.

Liberals believe that prison is for rehabilitation, not punishment. Crazy Andrea must believe that since Hawkeye-X was released, then he must be as honest as the day is long.

Remember how Fat Che, aka BenBurch, was trusted by the other primitives because he was, ideologically, one of them?  And that's the only criteria by which the other primitives measured his character?

And while they were trusting Fat Che, he was blackmailing them.  Fat Che's long gone from Skins's island, but there's some primitives who haven't yet returned, because they were so terrorized and scared by him, and are still afraid of running into him.

So the smug snots at Crazy Andrea's place can't come up with two hundred fifty bucks among the whole lot of them.

They are the one per cent. The lower one per cent.

More like a single cent. Their combined wealth.

I KNOW, Jeezum Crow, you can't even find a decent thread going in The Crisis forum.  Most boring site on the interwebs, imo.

Recent downtime - and a fundraiser
Hello gang,

As you may have noticed, we had a server bill that Andrea thought she took care of, but it turned out to be behind, and there is an explanation. After I notified Andrea that we haven't paid the bill yet, she checked her account and found it compromised. She does not want to use her bank account at this time, so I offered to set up an account specifically for OET that I'd prefer to use - this is called Serve, and I think it serves better as an alternate to Paypal (since they are charging me to accept donations).

So, in the meantime, I want to ask that you contribute whatever you can to help keep Old Elm Tree running (and staying ahead).

Here is our Serve link:

Thank you!

Andrea, waitingforhope, and Hawkeye-X

What kind of banks do DUmmies use?  I've never witnessed so many failures and compromises of accounts.

Here's a tip, don't used 1234 as your pin/code.  Jesus, the guys can't manage their personal finances to save their asses, yet they think they can better manage the government.

Why, First Citywide Change Bank (http://www.hulu.com/watch/4253/saturday-night-live-first-citywide-change-bank-2), of course !! :whistling:

ETA: Guess they won't be needing that Barnes and Noble card I got for Christmas.

Andrea probably spent the money and she's overdrawn.  She's too ashamed to admit it.

But, being the DUmmy she is, she'll say she paid off her debit card and the bank charged her fees which in turn made her account balance zero.    :lmao:

I swear to God I read that excuse one time on the DUmp regarding credit card debt.

Well, again, what I can't figure out is how it ran up to $350.

As mentioned earlier, when I had Scamdy.com, it cost me $9.95 per month.  Of course, that was about six and a half years ago, and perhaps the two members of democraticunderground who'd originally founded the site got a "deal" or something with godaddy, and things are different now.

I have no idea what monthly charges for hosting a site involve; all I know is that I paid $9.95 per month, and everything ran as smoothly as strawberries-and-cream.

Well, she sure wasn't paying for a lot of excess traffic. The Island of Smug Snots never got more than a couple of hits an hour.

If I remember, they had advertising as well.

She must have never paid the bill the entire time the site was up.

Andrea's making some bank from her tree friends.

Illuminate me, sir; of course, one can only speculate, but speculate, please.

I just paid the monthly fee of $9.95, nothing else.

Would there have been "start-up" costs I wasn't aware of, that the two members of democraticunderground paid when the site first got underway?  They started it up, and had it for a month and a half when the scammers were getting hot on their trails, and so I just took over the monthly rental payments, nothing more.

If it was the most basic type of web site with the forum software already installed and shared hosting, then no.  They pay for the entire thing as a package and the hosting company hands them the keys to the front door.  All they have to do is create forum boards and start posting away.

Remember she always complains about stalkers.  Probably spent the elmers' money on protection from freepers and people she's kicked out of the tree house.

She could run OET on a shared server for $5.00 a month. Its traffic inst meaningful enough to justify anything more than that.
